I've just had a thought.
Is there any mod anyone could do to the camera so that the flash comes on before focusing so in the dark you can see and focus properly on the subject.
It's just when you take pics in the dark it can't focus so it ends up blurry.
Thanks
Dion.
Has nobody got an answer for this. I've heard froyo will have spotlight when recording video but why can't it be used with camera?

can anyone get the auto focus to happen automatically on the camera? only way for me is to tap the screen or hold the capture button. just wanted to know if that is normal because what i liked about the 4s was that it would actually autofocus during camera mode. thanks
i'm finding the same type of issue lately...
every time i attempt to use the camcorder the autofocus does not function at all. i remember it did work at one point...now if i get within like 4-6 inches of anything it's blurred. and can't screen tap to focus.
frustrating.
I seem to be having the same issue lately, the camera autofocus does not appear to be working for me either. my front camera takes perfectly clear pictures but the 8 megapixel rear camera photos look horrible now. blurry blurry blurry I have tried installing a couple of different camera apk's.... going to install another 1 now and see if that changes things. if not I will soon tar back to a completely stock set up and see how the camera works .

Hi All,
I have Camera Zoom FX on my HOX, but can't seem to find a way of taking pictures while recording HD video, like you can on the standard camera app.
Does anyone know of a way?
Cheers

Probably not possible, it would need to be built into the app to work
They probably wouldn't, as I assume it takes quite a bit of power to be recording video and still have spare resource to take a picture, I know hox does do this, but a lot of other phones simply couldn't, and it would make their app look bad if they put in a feature that didn't work on 90% of the phones out there

Hello I'm using the HTC One V for some months. I've been having some problems with the camera. When i take a picture in which there is a human face, the face it has a redish color, it appears only in faces and hands, the face and the parts of the body looks red. But in every other part, like trees and streets the picture is ok. It has Htc Sense 4.0 and android version 4.0.3.
Please help me!
Thank you in advance.
mine is also have the same problem. try playing with your camera settings to get better pictures or use a third party camera app from market. I'm currently using camera zoom fx. It's way better than the stock one.
Same for me ahah I guess it's just the camera like this. Also when you take a photo of a white wall I get like many yellow and purple spots everywhere
I have that problem with every camera app.
Thank you for your answer. Any free alternatives of Camera Zoom fx?

Could anyone compare the quality of pictures taken from this with the stock sense camera? Could switch to CM11 if the quality is good enough.

Sense camera take better picture, but this is best for stock android, with photosphere and new feature (Lens blur),might try that out!
Can someone do a real comparison? With samples. Also does HDR+ work? If not than the quality should be the same as any other camera on CM11. In other words not that great.

The HDR does work, however you have to hold the camera very still. The panorama and photosphere functions are too buggy for me to use (the app often crashes when rendering). The orientation sensors don't seem to work properly for photosphere or panorama mode, sometimes it acts as if the device is moving when it isn't.
Still, the HDR mode and lens blur work.
HDR+ on Nexus 5 is a hardware feature so I guess it was expected but I'm glad it works.
I tried before the apks of old Nexus camera and accelerometer was not working properly. That's OK as our CPUs do not have necessary power to render panoramas or photospheres quickly enough.
Can you post HDR+ samples vs normal ones?
Any chance of having this ported to other android versions?
How could we change the image size to widescreen like on sense?

Is it possible to disable AF during video shot? I was trying different settings but auto-focus is continously active even when the subject is not moving or the phone is kept still. The following settings I found it will not ruin to much the video recording despite the fact that AF is still there:
Focus mode = object tracking and Metering = average
Can anybody share some tips & tricks on how to obtain a clear video shot?
Thank you

You mean that annoying "pumping" effect?
/e: I don't have a fix, but I'd like to hear about one too. It's the only thing that's left that really annoys me.
That's right

Try camera fv-5,it can disable af and have fixed focus till someone knows how to mod stock camera for that
No, it's not possible if you're using stock camera app.
I think cinema FV-5 could solve the problem with it's AF-lock feature...
Does FV-5 have video stabilization?

I installed and I was playing a bit with cinema fv-5... It looks good but it is pity that is crashing when I receive incoming call.

Hello guys, does that mean that nobody has found a fix for this?
I'm also interested how to solve auto-focus issue.
