Lockscreen picture - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good morning XDA (at least, its morning in Holland )
1 question,
Its not possible with the new android 2.2 to put a different wallpaper in lockscreen and different in the OS. Is there any way to place a different wallpaper in the lockscreen or do I just have to live with it ?
thanks in advance!
greetz, Haru

Although tedious, there is one way to achieve this but it would involve you having to manually place a new .jpg file in the default wallpaper location (in your 'framework-res.apk' file, in the '\res\drawable\' folder, named 'default_wallpaper.jpg'.)

Droid in the clock?

Hey there guys.
Just a quick one.
I have seen a couple of screen shots around (although can't remember where now) of a slightly differend clock widget background containing a little android Droid.
Anyone know how this is done? Maybe through applying a theme?
I have root and JF1.3 RC8 etc etc so not probs there.
Thanks
Phil
usually it's done through a theme, but you can actually just take the clock icon out of someones theme that has it, it's in the drawable folder of launcher.apk.
If you pull your launcher.apk file just copy the clock you want to the drawable folder on it and push launcher.apk back to your phone.
Cool.
Where is the launcher.apk?
Sorry... just starting with this phone and not totally fond my way round its files etc yet.
Thanks
it'll be under apps in any theme update file....
check out my theme... it has a ubuntu feel, with old themed clock like ubuntu's wallpaper
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469710
also changed fonts, and boot screen
Sorry. I meant where on the phone is the file (where would I copy from/to in order to put the custom clock image into the launcher.apk file.
Like that theme but don't really fancy any themes at all and just want the clock on its own really.
Thanks
Phil
You would have to edit the launcher.apk like they said then push it by its self to your G1 then you will have the clock and the rest of your theme will stay the same.
What they are leaving is that you must open the firmware package of your choice and edit the launcher.apk from the correct sub-folder. To be honest if you're not well adjusted to hacking up a firmware I wouldn't just start experimenting without proper guidence and reading of the available documentation on this platform. If you go about it half assed that's what you're gonna get.

WM 6.5 Backgrounds - theme Maker?

Hi,
i recently switched to wm6.5 (miri).
Now i want to use customized backrounds for my HD -> those from "Lost in Asia ROM".
As I want to use a different bg for landscape and portarit - I think I have to use a Theme do I?
So I tried to genarate one with ThemeGenCE.
MS Theme Gen doesnt support new WVGA themes...
But When I use my generated them it didn't set the pictures.. and it messes up the new "WM6.5 Lockscreen" completely.
I also tried to modify an existing theme (renaming to zip) and replace the pictures inside (skwater 001 and 002) and repack but it didn't work either... same as above.
Anyone knows how generate a working WM6.5 Theme?
I would also help just to know the REG-Key or where to place my bg files to set this up.
THX
bump
bump the message...
Can't be that hard I tought? No one got this problem?
To be honest I'm not sure what you actualy want? When you say theme do you also mean different colour theme for Portrait and Landscape? not sure if this is possible?
However if you are refering to having different background of your choice for Portrait and Landscape then you can simply rename any .jpeg picture of your choice to stwater_480_800.jpg (Portrait) and stwater_800_480.jpg (Landscape) then simply copy them over to windows folder using resco file explorer or total commander! if you already know this then I'm sorry I could not help you on this occasion!
THX
no didn't know that it's that easy... I'll try.
I know its not possible to have different colorschemes for Port. & Land.
By theme, I meant the *.TSK Files which one could create for WM. They contain the Pictures for Port. & Land. + the colorscheme information.
As I described above I didn't get it managed to create such a file working on WM6.5 using a theme generator- worked on 6.1 - but messes up the new WM6.5 Lockscreen
So the question for a working WM6.5 theme generator is still open but not that important to me now.
Thank you, if that works, its all I want (for now) ;-)

[Q] changing default wallpaper?

hey guys.
i'm trying to find the default wallpaper to change it out.
i'm using a sense rom and it has the htc sense bubbles wallpaper.i dont like it showing up on my lockscreen when i have MixZing there. looks out of place.
anyways, i already replaced default_wallpaper.jpg in framework-res.apk (one in drawable, one in drawable-hdpi). i searched through the rest of the folders and did not see the file anywhere.
i also searched through the entire com.htc.resources.apk and did not see that file there.
however, after flashing those files back to my phone i still get the same default wallpaper showing up in my lockscreen.
any ideas where else I can find that file to replace it?
thanks.

[Q] TWWallPaperChooser.apk enable all?

I have noticed that in the TWWallpaperchooser.apk that there are quite a few more wallpapers in there than the default 4 that we see in Wallpaper Gallery.
I was wondering if there was to enable the rest of them, and on a related question, is there a way to add your own into that apk too?
any response??
hey have you figured this one out yet.. i have been waiting anxiously for this answer.
Attached are zipped .pngs of the wallpapers. Credit goes to some XDA member - I can't find the original post. Extract and set them as you would any regular image file (gallery > set as)
Bonus cat wallpaper is from LPH leak. I don't think it's in the GB roms.
thanks for the response lonathe and the hookup. I think we're looking for the "How To" on tweaking the TwWallpaperchooser.apk to show ALL of the embedded wallpapers via Android's "Wallpaper Gallery" rather than just the ones they WANT you to see. For me I have both a SGS2 Skyrocket and T-Mo SGS2 (white) and they have different wallpapers embedded inside the apk. I am looking to extract ALL the Skyrocket's wallpapers from the TwWallpaperchooser.apk into the T-Mo SGS2's apk and then have them ALL visible via the "Wallpaper Gallery". Can anyone explain to me how to accomplish this?

Yeah, it's a achievable. I have done it in my new ROM. If you want, I can help you to open all up.
Just send me your system/app/TwWallpaperChooser.apk.
I can just link everything up for you.
Edit: I have tried open up GB rom and ICS rom TwWallpaperChooser.apk, they both have the same wallpapers plus hidden one. Btw, the cat is included too. They got more than 10 cool hidden wallpapers.
If you want my help, just pm me. I will be quite busy modifying my new ROM. I might miss your post here.
