[Q] TWWallPaperChooser.apk enable all? - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

I have noticed that in the TWWallpaperchooser.apk that there are quite a few more wallpapers in there than the default 4 that we see in Wallpaper Gallery.
I was wondering if there was to enable the rest of them, and on a related question, is there a way to add your own into that apk too?

any response??
hey have you figured this one out yet.. i have been waiting anxiously for this answer.

Attached are zipped .pngs of the wallpapers. Credit goes to some XDA member - I can't find the original post. Extract and set them as you would any regular image file (gallery > set as)
Bonus cat wallpaper is from LPH leak. I don't think it's in the GB roms.

thanks for the response lonathe and the hookup. I think we're looking for the "How To" on tweaking the TwWallpaperchooser.apk to show ALL of the embedded wallpapers via Android's "Wallpaper Gallery" rather than just the ones they WANT you to see. For me I have both a SGS2 Skyrocket and T-Mo SGS2 (white) and they have different wallpapers embedded inside the apk. I am looking to extract ALL the Skyrocket's wallpapers from the TwWallpaperchooser.apk into the T-Mo SGS2's apk and then have them ALL visible via the "Wallpaper Gallery". Can anyone explain to me how to accomplish this?

Yeah, it's a achievable. I have done it in my new ROM. If you want, I can help you to open all up.
Just send me your system/app/TwWallpaperChooser.apk.
I can just link everything up for you.
Edit: I have tried open up GB rom and ICS rom TwWallpaperChooser.apk, they both have the same wallpapers plus hidden one. Btw, the cat is included too. They got more than 10 cool hidden wallpapers.
If you want my help, just pm me. I will be quite busy modifying my new ROM. I might miss your post here.

[UPDATED 12-17-2010] Galaxy S family stock wallpapers pack

I dumped all of the default static wallpapers you can find preloaded on every Galaxy S, Captivate, Fascinate, Vibrant and Epic and thought about sharing them into a single package containing 52 wallpapers.
It also includes the colored yarn balls promo wallpaper optimized by me with the Gimp in order to have a standard (960x800) resolution without losing quality.
UPDATE: I included 22 new wallpapers from the Nexus S, making a total of 74 wallpapers!
You're probably thinking bentgrass and grass2 are the same wallpaper; actually, the one from the Nexus S (green2) is slided a bit to the left and has more vivid colors. The same is for rainbokeh and street_lights: the second one (from the Nexus S) is slided a bit to the left and has no lights on the upper-left and bottom-right corners.
Here's a preview (click to enlarge) followed by download links. Enjoy!

P.S.: Please, tell me if you think that some wallpapers are missing, so I can add them to the package!
bro...great job...these walls are very nice and fresh (the ones not on my phone).....big thumbs up for your effort....
Awesome. I love it.
Thank you, guys! I'm glad you liked it.
Thank you! They look great!
Hey dude thanks for these, can you post them in the Official Wallpaper Repo thread? Would be great thanks.
How to use it without cropping the resolution??
@sherwoodlee When you select the wallpaper, slide the selection square to the upper-left of the picture, then grab the bottom-right corner of the square and enlarge it until it fits the full picture. In few words you have to select the whole picture.
@MAMBO04 link?
@MaelstromXC Thanks!!!
Thanks a lot for this collection.

They're stored inside the folder res/drawable-hdpi of an app, which is /system/app/TwWallpaperChooser.apk for I9000/Vibrant/Captivate/Fascinate and /system/app/Launcher.apk for Epic 4G. Unfortunately, there's no easy way of doing this.
Thanks!! Adds a new life to my device, i have been looking for the yarms ball wallpaper. Great
thanks you! great work man!

Can this be converted to a flashable apk so that these wall-paper show up as another category, maybe SGS Wallpapers in the wallpaper dialog?

Yes, you would need to add the wallpapers into TwWallpaperChooser.apk (or Launcher.apk if you're using an Epic), recompile it, resign it, and make a flashable zip. There should be no universal solution, since i think it's firmware-based (correct me if I'm wrong!).
If you think there's an easier solution, I'll do what I can.

[Q] CM Default Grass Wallpaper

Just wondering if anyone could post up the Default Grass wallpaper that usually comes defaulted on CM. I really like that wallpaper and I cannot find it anywhere. Once the wallpaper is changed it seems to just disappear. Can anyone tell me how/where to find in on my phone or post up a link where I can get it.
Thanks
Not sure which wallpaper that is, but you could try using the app "wallpaper set and save" from the market. It will let you save whatever current wallpaper you have set to your sd card.

that's because it is embedded in the framework-res apk. you can get it out of any stock cm framework by using zip to open/extract it. or i suppose i can give it to you.

[Q] How do I edit a widget's background?

Not sure if this belongs in the Dev section or here.
Anyway, attached is a screenshot of my homescreen. I am wondering how to edit the Google+ widget to give it a transparent background instead of the dark bg.
I know how to edit photos and apply a transparent bg, etc., I am just not sure how to edit the widget itself. Is it a matter of getting the .apk and extracting an image to edit? I used to edit icons for my iOS devices, so I assume this might be the same with .apk files ...
Any tips would be helpful!
Thanks!
I'd like to know too. I tried to edit the widget background for the honeycomb music app to be semi-transparent by taking the trans widget background from sense music widget.
Honeycomb music apk had a file called appwidget_bg.9.png so i renamed the one from sense to that name using 7zip, but new apk wouldnt install for me.
Not sure if any of this helps you. But I'd like to know too.
In the apk, there should be a folder called res or resources, i forget. Pretty sure relevant file is in there if I remember correctly. Good luck.

I've modded the app.
instructions:
- install the app from the market (you already have it installed so you may be able to skip this step)
- remove the widget if its on one of the screens
- use root exprlorer to copy the file I posted to the /data/app folder
- set the permissions (rw-r--r--)
- readd the widget
that worked for me.
Download the attachment
Thanks but I get force close when I try.

I thought I would try the above mod again and it still force closes. Does anyone else know how to get the google+ transparent widget? Martijua's mod is exactly what I am looking for, but for some reason it doesn't work. :-(
Thanks!

[Q] Where are Wallpapers located in ROMs?

I like to collect certain ringtones, notifications, and wallpapers from prior ROMs I have used. Is there a specific place the Wallpapers are located like ringtones and notifications?

I believe the system background's are in the framework/res apk.. as for the wallpapers.. I would imagine they are around in the same area in the system files.. I'm not sure, but I'll look and see where mine are and get back to ya

Using a root explorer, check in the res/drawable hdpi folder in the wallpaper chooser apk in system/app. Also, some Roms have a wallpaper folder, like mine. Easiest way to find some that may be well hidden, is dl the rom zip to your computer, extract the above folders(or any other that you think might bear fruit) and then just open the folder on your desktop. All pngs will show if you have your folder options on your pc set to see them, ie thumbnail view .

[Q]Zooper skin, and missing fonts ! Help!

So I made an apk for zooper containing clock widgets, and I used many 3rd party fonts for it.
When I saved the widget to build apk , fonts are saved as .ttf.jet and I built the apk with eclipse .
But now people are reporting that they can't see the fonts I used.
Am I doing anything wrong or is it an issue with zooper?
Here's my app if you wanna take a look at. You can see the fonts I used in the preview while applying the widget.

You step into the same trap is I did mate. The solution to it is quite simple though: delete the .jet extensions from the font files and re-compile, then it should work again.
But before you do that, do me a favor and save your current eclipse project as a ZIP and send it to [email protected]. The dev said the problem with .jet-fonts should have been fixed and that he needed samples to work it out. Put a description in the email about your problem so he knows what it's about. I already send in a sample but the more the better, especially if they are from different sources
