Uh hi I rooted my Xperia Play R800i yesterday to try out a new rom and I went with
"GBTweaked" the problem is my phone isn't picking up any reception,I can't get the Wi-Fi to work (not my main concern),and can access my recovery menu.I have tried multiple apps to open the recovery menu, but none of them work,I really need help!
By the way I'm not great with phones, but if you think I am missing something please say so as I really want my phone to work and I would like to change the ROM back to the stock rom :/
Thanks in advance
Well, what kernel do you use? If you use a custom one like Doomkernel you can try to reflash it. Maybe you can reinstall your CWM.

I have rooted my phone for the 1st time the other day using the basic CF autoroot. I have been looking into trying a new Rom. I wanted to try ARHD but it just isn't downloading at all been trying that for 2 days so thought I would try another. Downloading Criskelo at the mo.
As I don't really know what I am doing at the mo I have been looking into it. Now it always says:
"This rom will be installed by recovery mode, your device need Clock work mode recovery before installing."
And looking into how to download that i have to download rom manager and install CWM through rom manager right? Well I cant download rom manager as its "Not available in my country" i have tried variousways to get around this. Modded play store and that app that fakes your sim country (cant remember what its called)
Now my main question is how can i get around this do you NEED to have CWM or is there something else i can use or is it just not going to be possible to put any custom roms on my phone.
I live in Macau btw
Cheers

Flash philz recovery
I need some help peeps! I've been trying for days now but cannot get any tools to work. I have rooted my device and now need to install the rom, but i have tried KFfirstaide but when i run an option it cannot find the files it needs and also cannot mkdir! I have set the Path up so cant be that. The driver is ADB one not composite.
What other ways are there to install cm10.1?
Ideally id like to keep it as easy as poss, I did try installing the Clockworkmod rom manager from google play but couldnt get that to work as it couldnt install a recovery mode, also tried TWRP but that was worse it wouldn't load.
Does it all have to be done via command line? I did find pages where they show Clockworkmod and thats it.
By the way i have 7.4.6 on the device, also when using fastboot whats it supposed to do? I get the fastboot logo but thats all, is that it or is that not right? Also I can get into the system recovery screen but i only get 2 options, reebot and factory reset. Also When do u need a different cable? I only have the one that came with my device, is that ok? Its just i read that not all khd7's need the fastboot cable. Im really getting confused as i read that i could do a cm10 install with just 2 apps. CWM rom man & google play.
Is there a guide for the 7.4.6 version?
Thanks
JK
I don't know how you haven't hard bricked your device yet trying to flash recoveries like cwm, but you are on the kfhd 7" model. It has 2 methods of installing a custom ROM, you either use fire flash or has codes original method, I prefer fire flash because it involves less typing on my part, but if you forget to check off a certain box it will result in a red screen of death upon boot and you will need a fastboot cable to fix. Lemme get the link for flashing...
Edit: here's the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2271909
One last note, make sure to copy the ROM you want to flash and gapps to the sdcard before you flash the 2nd boot loader and twrp or you will get stuck in a recovery boot loop thanks to Amazon's anti flashing measures. That was added kinda recently so the tutorials I don't think mention this.

So that link you sent me is that all i need to follow to get CM10.1 on my device?
What i really need is pointing in the right direction to get CM10.1 on my rooted KFHD7 7.4.6.
Thanks
JK
Yes, just remember to follow the instructions I put in my post above before doing it.

Problems installing Boot Menu on OUYA
Hi,
I followed the instructions to load CM11 on my OUYA, I flashed CWM 6.0.4.8, Boot Menu v2.0.4, CM11 Nightly, Gapps and the Key mapping zips all from CWM Recovery (latest version) and the OUYA rebooted into CM11, set up all ok, very happy so far.
However it struck me when I rebooted that I didn't get a new boot menu, so I tried flashing again and I don't see any errors it just comes back to recovery and when I reboot there is no boot menu! I did not sideload the files using ADB I flashed the zips from recovery.
Previously when running stock OUYA (rooted) I could not flash recovery and it would not update and I suspect that this was a permission issue as it only worked when I reloaded SU. Is it possible that permissions are blocking the installation of the boot menu and if so how can I fix this?
Please note I am a real Newby by name and just a user, I really have no programming experience but am happy to do whatever to resolve the problem. So any advice is appreciated. Having CM11 is a great improvement.
Cheers
Paul.

Ok I re tried loading the zip from CWM and as before it looks to install without any issue, this time I found the log under advanced and it showed success. I then rebooted and again I don't see the bootmenu.
Do you think that it is possible that it is installed but for some reason not showing up on the TV? I have a suspision that it is loaded and booting after the time out as the screen goes blank for about 10 seconds before the Cynogenmod logo appears. how can I test if I can't see it, does the boot menu respond to the keyboard, if so is it two down arrows and and return to get to recovery?
Cheers
Paul.

Remember to reboot into the new recovery (6.0.48) BEFORE flashing the bootmenu!
I got that problem as well. It just means that you need to reboot the Ouya once again. You can't flash the new recovery module and the bootmenu zips in one go. Instead you have to flash 6.0.48 while in the older recovery (6.0.32), reboot and then you can flash the bootmenu zip without any error.
I just wanted to note that a couple of TVs I've tried don't lock to the hdmi signal until the boot menu is gone. This means you won't see the boot menu even though it is there and functioning correctly.
If you push the power button once or twice about 3 seconds after you power on the ouya, you will actually be selecting from the boot menu and that will cause the boot menu screen to persist (hopefully) until the TV or monitor locks.
