hey guys, i have the new wildfire, i tried rooting it following all instruction on unrevoked3 and the Hboot. installed all drivers needed but unrevoked cannot detect my wildfire
PLS HELP!
If you have a new Wildfire, in all probability, Unrevoked will not work. Use Revolutionary to gain S-OFF and push a Custom Recovery.
It can be accessed here:
http://revolutionary.io/
Don't forget to read the documentation:

Go step by step and there is no way to make mistake. With this tutorial, I have rooted my HTC desire without any mistake.
I have managed to get s-off using revolutionary, but when I use unrevoked again it says the same error failed to get root is your firmware too new
I have followed the steps completely no errors

you do NOT need unrevoked. Forget it, delete it.
Flash recovery (look at my guide, or download 4EXT recovery updater from market).
Backup ROM
FULL wipe (delete every partition apart from sd-card)
flash a rom you want.
Easy.
Thanks achieved now what is the best Rom for Apps storage

Oxygen, with oxygen r2 hboot.
Or
Any D2EXT ROM (uses EXTn partition on your sd-card, shouldn't be larger than 1024mb)
Hello everyone,
I want to root my desire hd but to do that I need to have Froyo on my desire hd. I readed a few guides to downgrade the desire hd but for all of them i need to have Advanced Ace Hack Kit. Now since that has been discontinued i don't know how to downgrade it. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Why do you need to downgrade?
Because i want to root my desire hd. and you need to downgrade to froyo to root it.
thanks for your reply but the only problem is that i can't download the PD98IMG.zip in the thread because I'm getting a survey.
Do you know where i can download it?
The only way aside from the retired AAHK is to unlock the bootloader. You don't need to downgrade to do that.
I messed for ages with the hack kit but there doesnt seem to be a reliable download for the PD98IMG.
Use HTDEV to unlock hboot
Fastboot flash a recovery
Use recovery to install a custom rom
Fastboot flash the roms boot.img (extract from the rom zip)
Hope this helps
Stu
thanks for your replies but I fixed it. I just downloaded a froyo RUU and now I have froyo and its rooted.

There is a step by step, pc is needed, since you have to unlock the bootloader, flash using CyanogenMod recovery, or TWRP, and then flash SU binaries, all from pc then you'll be good to go, but bootloader, at least, needs to be done on pc
pls leave link
