Hi,
I want to put the latest radio on HTC desire. It's rooted and running froyo at the minute though. Which radio shall I use, the nexus one or desire. Or does it not matter?
Cheers

ONLY use the Desire radios. God knows what you would do if you tried flashing a nexus radio! A Desire is not a nexus one, no matter how much they appear to be alike!

Having come from an HD2 running winmo I really do miss the wifi tethering. Also, as I'm new to android, which I think is miles better than winmo by the way, what are the constraints for upgrading the Android OS. eg. I have a Desire running 2.1, will I just be able to download and upgrade to 2.2 and 2.3 and so on?
Cheers
No as HTC need to get Sense working on 2.2...shouldn't take them long though

Not out of the box, but someone will probably port it from the nexus one, which i'd think would be the first phone to receive 2.2
how many pc can i connect to android 2.2 tethering at the same time ?
Hi guys,I will be getting a Desire one of these days and, although I won't be rooting it for some time, there is one thing I would like clarified.Since the Nexus One and the Desire are almost the same phone(I presume most of you here know what the insignificant differences are) can we install roms that are designed for the Nexus on the Desire or inversely?
Thanks in advance!
Nexus one for the regular updates.
Desire for the htc sense!

Hi everybody,
The HTC triumph who should be the same phone as the HTC desire will be release in a few week I was wondering if i update the Rom radio of my desire with one in the HTC triumph, is it allow me to have access to 3g . Indeed the only difference between the 2 phone are the 3g frequencies.
Thanks for your answers.

first of all i highly doubt it, porting radios over sounds like brick heaven to me, more importantly why on earth would you want to do that?
Hi,
I used to live in France and I bought a HTC Desire there.
I moved to canada and the my phone works well except I can only use Edge. I checked the specs and I saw the frequencies are different between french operators and canadian ones. (I also have a HTC Kaiser who works well on the 2 networks, I do not understand why....)
So I am wondering if there is any solution to make HTC Desire working with 3g here or am I stuck with Edge ? It is not a big problem but it is a little bit slow.
Thanks for your help
I think you're talking about 850mhz vs 900mhz? If so, (and someone correct me if I'm wrong here) it's a matter of hardware, so there's really nothing you can do about it. :/

Best to install the latest Radio Update from the Android Development section and see if that is any better, flashing the Radio from a different ROM IS a fast route to bricking

Yes it exactly my problem.
So I will try latest Rom as you suggest. I hoped this was a matter of drivers not hardware
Thanks for your help.

anyone know if can be use nexus one rom in my rooted desire?
No, you can't just flash a Nexus One ROM to the Desire. However, there are plenty of ports of ROMs out there that effectively give you the Nexus One experience.

Hello,
I have a HTC Incredible 2 and I have CM7 Nightlys installed. I will be going to Germany next week and was wondering if CM7 supported the global roaming or if I should flash back to the stock HTC Sense software.
Thoughts?

Please let us know how it works out, and what sim you were using over there!
I'm going to Germany in December with the Dinc2.
CM7 allows switching between CDMA and GSM networks, but phone will find new network only after rebooting
It doesnt work in Germany. No Data/Voice. Had to revert back to HTC Sense for it to work. This is using Nightly 76.
