Terminal issues - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know the correct codes for terminal with full root access and nand write access? I can't get su commands to work. I want to remove Sprint and other crap apk's from within terminal.

automatic su privilege when enter adb shell?

I'm not sure if it was the ROM that was used, but I remember going into adb shell and have automatic access to root with out having to type "su". Anyone know how this is accomplished? I already have root access and everything is working fine. Just wanted to know how to get to root access without the extra step
i think you have to enter it every time, at least i have to.
I'm not sure what I did but I don't have to type Su.
I rooted by toast s tut, except I installed amon ras recovery instead of the one that he said. Then I flashed dc 3.2.2.1

[Q] adb help.

ok so adb is installed and working however when I do "adb shell" I get $ not # and permission denied on everything I do. Phone is rooted via VISIONary, debug on, adb recognizes device and "ls" command gives proper read/ logcat works, any help would be AWESOME!
please don't be asses I would have posted this in the [SOLVED][ADB] Won't install correctly for my G2 thread but it's locked....
thanks in advance
Did you type "su" after adb_shell?
Yes and it just hangs...

Ok so I guess this one falls under the age old "have you tried turning it off and on again" method of dealing with windows... root access achieved.
Thanks for help KShatzkes....

Not Permited! Error in Terminal Emulator

When I go into my terminal emulator and run su to get superuser permissions it goes through fine. After getting SU permissions I type reboot recovery and terminal emulator comes back with "not permited!" error. I am running NB 2.15 ROM. Any idea why this error is popping up? Thanks!
Because reboot recovery isn't a command....Its only and adb command, not, you can use adb on term emu

Click to collapse
What about just "reboot" ? That doesn't work either and I thought that was a terminal emulator command.
Its a rom issue these commands dont work well w/ the espresso roms last time i checked, they work in cyanogen though

Sideload Towelroot?

idea popped into my head just now, has anyone tried it? i dont know exactly how the exploit works or anything but would it be worth trying?
Try it and report back
Am I missing something here? adb install tr.apk is how people have rooted.. aka as sideloading.
Lol, how do you think everyone's been rooting?!?

Sideloading is super easy after installing Terminal Emulator and a web browser.
You can use the terminal app to perform all of the same ADB functions as you would from a PC,but you have to use the PC once more to install the Terminal app and a browser.
Somebody needs to pin that original topic that tells you how to do it,as it helped me greatly on sideloading any of the apps I wanted in mere seconds by downloading the apk through a sideloaded browser and installing it via ADB function on the sideloaded Terminal App.
