I think I screwed up good, I followed this thread last week to put Myn's Warm Donut on my Tilt (Kaiser). It worked very well for a while, but every once in a while, when I turn it on, it would flash a white screen for about 5 seconds first, then show the HTC splash logo and startup vibration. Today, it wouldn't come out of the white screen.
Things I've tried:
pulled the battery for 20 minutes
held on/off and camera while soft resetting
held two soft buttons while soft resetting
I'm totally stuck; I do have an older version of hardspl on the phone, but I can't even access that right now. Power on the phone, green led lights up for a second, then white screen of death.
Please, please help, any suggestions would be welcome!!!
pull sd card
try booting without SD Card and see if that helps.
Got a little further
I don't know why it happened this way, but I had removed the sd card several times and tried, same effect...I formatted the card, no difference. I put nothing but KAISimg.nbh (a windows mobile rom) and KAISDIAG.nbh on the card, and now the phone boots into android.
I figured I'd flash the phone back to the original winmo rom, but I can't get into the bootloader at all. Funny that android even boots at all.
If I hold power/camera and soft reset, it still has the same symptoms as before (white screen.) If I allow it to just boot, it will boot into android.
It would seem that my ability to enter hardspl has been wrecked...any idea how to fix it?
UPDATE: I used to have an HTC splash screen that came up immediately when first booting, that screen is replaced with a few seconds of white screen. I'm guessing the bootloader is damaged, and that's why I can't get into hardspl.
Wish I knew how this happened, but my HardSpl started working pretty much all by itself a few days later. I flashed the stock rom and started from scratch, all seems to be working now.
Kaiser stays strange
I once got some water on my phone.
It didn't boot anymore, only boot loader.
After one week i managed to boot it just once,
installed hardspl, everything ok. Seriously, water caused my stock boot loader to fail? Still hard to believe, but kaiser stays a strange, but real nice phone!
Have fun with your resurrected phone
haha i had exactly the same problem. about a year ago i spilled beer over my kaiser. got whitescreen, and after a half year lying on my radiator it started working again.. I just love my kaiser xD
Same Again
Yeah me and my old man both have had a tytn II i actually got a touch pro but after the laminated bond on the screen came away for the second time it just sits on a shelf.
But he dropped his in the bath... SAME white screen of death, 3 days later after being left with anti moisture packs in a warm airing cupboard with lots of towels it worked a treat and has ever since
Glad you didnt fry it... so which puddle did you drop yours in hehe.

Went out jogging this morning, I use endomondo to track my progress and routes. However when I went to check my progress, the phone, which was in it's leather pouch, slipped out of my hand and onto concrete. When I took the phone out of the pouch to see if it was okay it appeared to be turned off I tried to switch it on but it wouldn't turn on. The led kept on flashing from orange to green. I then continuously kept pressing the power button on the phone, then the white welcome screen came on, which stayed on for a couple of seconds then switched off. I tried powering up the phone again but it wouldn't work.
When I got home I decided to charge it while I was out at work. I tried it again when I got back home from work and the phone still didn't switch on but the led's continue to flash orange/green constantly. I then took out the battery, sim and the memory card and left them out a few hours, then put them back into the phone and still nothing has changed. I am also unable to boot into boot loader mode.
I will take the handset into CPW tomorrow for repair, the phone is not marked or cracked in any way so I hope they don't realise it has been dropped. Now I am stuck with my old i8910 for now and it feels like I have gone 10 years back in terms of technology.
Sorry to hear about that.
It sounds like a hardware fault to me though. Have you tried booting it into 'safe mode' (Not recovery mode) and see if it starts up?
By safe mode do you mean by holding down the menu and power keys.? Sorry I'm not all that clued up on the tech in and outs of the Desire, if so then no. I have just tried booting into bootloader mode again and I get to that. But I am not sure where to take it from there.
GReetings,
So I have searched for a lot of forums to see if there is an answer to this.
So the story goes. I got myself a new phone and put the TP2 in a drawer. After moving, I have a reason to pull it out and get it ready to be used again. However, it wont turn on.
So I figure the battery went dead. I plug it into the charger, the LED lights up, and got to wait a few minutes. After a minute or so, the white HTC screen suddenly comes on the screen, it vibrates one quick, and shuts off again.
I cant power it up, I can get it to boot loader. Really not sure what the problem is here.
Any ideas suggestions would be welcome as I want to put this one back to stock so I can send it to my step-kid for use.
Try charging it for a few hours, while it is closed. If the phone regularly reboots and then switches off, leave it that way.
The idea is to charge the battery enough, so as the phone boots.
had the same prob the other day
what helped here was:
remove the battery and let it out of the phone for a couple of hours (i did it at night). had the battery removed for about 8 hours. put it back in and it worked for me again.
give it a try and let me know!
Ok will try that tonight when I'm heading for bed. Ill leave it to charge while I'm at work because I get tired of hbearing it vibrate every 20 seconds while its charging

Did you get it to work? I'm having the same problem. I posted in another thread that had the same problem as you.
Maybe HTC really is pushing an auto kill program.

Unfortunately, it didnt work. I think the phone was probably dropped one too many times and is broken. I cant get it to boot, cant even get into the bootloader. So I have no idea.

I also had the same problem I took out the battery and blew on it to get it to cool down and had it sit out of the phone for 10-15mins then put it in the phone and plugged into charger and left it for 30mins then hit the power button.
This reboot cycle happens when my phone dies in android and it works every time for me.
Hope that helps
for future reference, the phone died with a Sim card in it, revived when a Sim card was replaced.

yesterday I had the same problem, boot loader doesn't work. But.... I charged my battery, replaced it, pushed Vol. down + EndCall btn. + Power btn and inserted battery. As a result my boot loader is working now. But after running task 29 and flashing custom firmware my phone doesn't came back alive. I'm looking for solution now. Did anybody have the same problem?
When I'm flashing original firmware the process stops on checking my phone.
Please, give me advice how to solve my problem. Thx.

First off it looks like you are not Hard SPLed so custom ROMs will be a problem for you. Second you have a major error with your keyboard and touch screen. I have a TP2 that took a dip into some water that has the same error - MircoP(LED) Wrong Plat(0x0) and MicroP(KEY) Wrong Plat(0x0). When I first got the phone it would not turn on but would make a noise that sounded like it was crying. I got another TP2 that works fine and swapped the top halfs of the phones because the new one looked like a dog chewed on it. It still worked but in real bad shape. The touch screen that got wet works fine so it is on the TP2 that I use all the time. The wet TP2 will now start up but the keyboard, all of the front buttons but the end key, and touch screen don't work. The touch screen will only register getting touch in one spot. So if you have a software keyboard up only the t will be hit. I Hard SPLed it, ran task 29, and installed a custom rom on it. I have to use My Mobiler to do anything with it. It also will take a battery that has a full charge and drain it to about 50% in about 20 minutes and then claim the battery is dead even on a charger. Something to play with.
With the error you have unless you got it wet you might have a bad flex cable. I would try to fix the error first before trying to change roms.
Thank you for answer.
My phone was HardSPLed and flashed by custom firmware and works fine for half a year. The reason for my situation was broken charger... I think that problem in hardware when I put it on charge, my phone lightly flashed by orange lamp and became can't turn on
You are told that it is looks like it doesn't hacked because I tried to roll it back to original.
Are you sure the phone did not get wet? Everything you describe makes it sound like the phone took a dip. If not, try plugging it into a computer and see if it will charge and turn on.
I resolved my problem krekol, you are right at 100%!!! I took my phone from work-shop and they told me that some water get there, or it was just condensate. As a result oxidation around microphone and some connections.
Now, my phone works fine on WM 6.1 (they flashed it) and somewhy I can't flash Jackos S3 JackFULL 1.7.0. and Rhodium-HardSPL_V2_00R3 too
maybe it is effects of oxidation.... I'm trying flash from my flash-card.

You can only HSPL once. If they (or you) relocked the device, you won't be able to unlock it again unless you can get Olipro/cmonex to take pity on you.
Glad I could help. Here is a small warning. Once a phone gets wet it's days are numbered. You might have a week, a month, or a year but the phone will die. I would plan ahead for the phone to die and keep an real close eye on it.

If you need to HardSPL a second time, PM me.
Well I dropped my Note 2 in water and I have probably killed it.
Just want to see if anyone has any ideas on recovery before I drop the $200 for my insurance deductible.
So upon dropping it, I pulled the battery and SD card immediately, and let the phone sit in rice overnight.
Next day, I pulled the phone out and attempted power up but was greeted with flickering splash screen then power off.
I disassembled the phone completely, and got out some Isopropyle Alcohol and soaked all the components to remove any remaining moisture.
Upon re assembly, I plugged the phone in and couldn't get it to power on at all. Then I tried powering in to Oden and success! got the download screen.
Next I booted up Oden on the computer and attempted to re flash and unsecure boot img, and recovery. It succeeded in Oden, but as soon as the phone gets passed the boot screen it turns off. Cant get passed it.
Anything else I can try?
Got it working!
Reflashed boot and recovery again.
was still having issues, then I went in to DL mode, cancelled and held down the Vol + and Home and it booted into TWRP!
From there, I had to reflash the rom and its good.
Looks like some stuff got into the camera, photos are streaking a little but Ill try and fix that later.

You probably still have moisture and condensation in the phone.....should keep it in the rice more time and avoid powering up as long as possible

Isopropyle Alcohol will insure there is NO moisture left.
I thoroughly soaked each of the components in it.
Im pretty sure my problems came from when I booted the phone after taking it out of the rice.
Im sure the moisture that was left then, shorted across the RAM and firmware, corrupting them.
After a few over rights with Odin it seems to be fine.
Hey, I really need some desperate help.
So I have a Canadian Note 2, SGH-I317.
It has no SIM card inside it, and it is just connected to wifi.
I have flashed 2 Custom ROMS before on this phone.
The first one, was a 4.4.2 Homemade t0lte ROM.
It worked fine for about a week, but then I started to have this big problem.
After I plugged in my friends charger at her house, (a Samsung Note tablet charger) then this problem started shortly after I left her house:
When I leave the phone alone, it will go to sleep automatically like every other phone. Then, when I press any button which wakes the phone, the touch screen is unresponsive, and the phone since no input is coming in, goes back to sleep and doesn't turn on again until after a while, where it will boot back on itself and start working until randomly out of chance (chance meaning atleast once every 1 - 4 hours) it will do the same thing again. It's getting really annoying and starting to be destructive, as it stops important conversations and other stuff.
I initially thought it was the homemade ROM.
So, I changed the ROM. Now I'm using a better one, and it's called W03 Slim v9 t0lte, and it's 4.4.2 and works good.
I was not seeing any problems up until a few hours after the install of the new ROM, and the problem which I thought had been removed was still persistent. Now, its even more often than the old homemade ROM. Just before posting this, it has happened twice in the matter of 1 hour, and it's just getting on my final nerve.
I'm not sure if this is a key factor, but after it goes to sleep, I still see the visible white pixels of the 4.4.2 shutoff effect.
My final thoughts are that it might be the battery, but I have no idea how to get a replacement for that, and how much they cost.
Obviously I can't send it in because the warranty was voided when I flashed the custom ROM.
I really need a solution, and ultimately I could wipe everything and go back to the stock ROM, but that, in my scenario would be a last case scenario.
Thanks, Delbert.
NOTE: Just found out that when I turn it on, and the touch screen is unresponsive, the S pen works with the phone, and the back and menu button doesn't work. But, all physical buttons do. The physical home button works, but all the rest except the S pen works. So I can navigate the phone unless it goes into sleep mode, in that case no matter what I press, nothing will make it come up unless it reboots.

your friend's charger could've damaged your phone
i've had a charger that made my touchscreen unresponsive while plugged in... thankfully it didn't do any noticeable permanent damage
all USB chargers are not created equally:

Thank you for your reply, but if the charger did do damage to my phone, how would it and how does the touchscreen still work with the S pen?
Is there any way to fix this, and if not what do I do?
I have an HTC One X I could use as a backup, but I would like to install a 4.4.2 ROM on it, and with what I've found out I have to root it, which requires a recovery, which recovers an unlock or S-OFF, and when trying to do that, the phone won't connect via USB to my computer. I am frustrated but at the same time sad.
Should I just factory reset my whole phone and erase everything?
Hello, my galaxy s3 died one day last year and I haven't been able to resurrect it since..inserting battery results in a vibration, samsung logo, then it dies until I pull the battery again. Today I had the sudden urge to try fixing it and got different results than I had previously. I cleaned a bunch of lint from the charging port and am now able to get a short red light flash when the phone is plugged in, followed by a vibration, then the battery charging logo, then death once again. Randomly I'll get the cyanogenmod bootup screen when repeating this cycle but for no longer than a second or two before the phone dies again. I've disassembled the phone and cleaned as much dust and crap as possible to no avail. Any recommendations? Could the power button be frozen? My samsung infuse had a stuck power button and would boot loop but my S3 doesn't seem to be boot looping. Just turning on then dying until I fiddle with the power button again.
I want to rule out sudden death...
I had a sudden death on a note 2.
Download a good compatible (with your baseband) ROM.
Fool with the phone. Like really. Keep trying to turn it on, try recovery mode. I fixed one of these. It wasn't quite the same but I still have it. And it works. If the screen wasn't cracked to hell I'd be on it.
Another option may be trying a debrick image on an external sdcard. You should use one based on the same modem and baseband installed on the phone when it last worked.
