Hi,
why is the flash light option switching from photo to video disabled?
Which means: Recording a video there is no falsh light available.
Does this make sen(s)ce? ;-)
Any workaround for this?
br,
Chris
not as far as i know, i even tried turning on the led with a flashlight app then starting video but it disables the light before video starts.
i dont know why.
That's annoying.Any way to record video on Desire using night mode?

It has been announced that 2.2 will support this - "With the LED flash now enabled for the Camcorder, videos can be shot at night or in low light settings."

Hi,
This is for MIUI users.I'm having a red lens and my camera flash wasn't working while recording video, though it was working while taking photos.I searched the internet quite a bit and came to know that it was not possible to get it working atleast until a patch is released.I haven't exactly got it working but I do have a solution.
Switch on the torch in toggle or via the torch app and let it run. Now go to your camera start the video recording while the torch is still on.THAT'S IT!!!!!!!!!!!
When you have finished recording your video simply switch OFF the torch.Enjoy!!!!!!!!
I recommend using LGcamera for video recording....With it you can record at much higher resolution i.e. 850*480 and also set the video recording Format
just sharing..all details are in the link provided
video recording is preset to 720p
image capture is preset to 9mp widescreen
FC on Panorama mode

Tested on Nexus 4 and S4... from Android Police. Mostly functional. Will update with fixes.
What works -
-The camera runs fine.
-Tutorial.
-Single shots.
-Burst shots.
-Video recording.
-Front-facing camera toggle.
-Swipe to open settings.
-Swipe to open gallery, which asks which gallery app you want to launch.
-Touch to focus toggle.
-Flash mode toggle.
-Shutter sound toggle.
-Geo-tag toggle.
What doesn't work (fixes being worked on)-
-Double-flick wrist gesture to launch the camera anytime.
-Panorama mode currently crashes. (It seems to be missing a required class, and I'm not sure whether we'd be able to fix it or not. If we can, I'll post an updated APK. For the interested, the error log is here.)
-HDR mode is disabled and cannot be enabled.
-Slow-motion mode is disabled and cannot be enabled.

That's nice but it would be more useful when the app is fully ported.

Superfast, Great UI, Really Awesome. But Auto flash also didn't work properly @ my SL. Anyway thank you!

It works fine on my Xperia SL for one day, then it showed some problems with image quality. Specifically, the photo is under-exposed in some cases (even if I use the flash still does not solve the problem), while the integrated camera software produced better photo.
Hi,
here is a beautiful fast & unique camera app from Moto x,
Action:
•Press the screen to captures picture
•Holding the screen activates the burst mode for capturing multiple pictures.
•Dragging up and down zooms in and out.
•Swiping fingers from left to right brings camera settings, and from right to left takes to the Gallery.
•Another convenient gesture is twisting your wrist twice (quickly) while holding the camera in hand launches camera anytime. It’s a great feature for a smartphone with no dedicated camera button.
Features:
•Single shots
•Burst shots
•Video recording
•Front-facing camera toggle
•Swipe to open settings
•Swipe to open gallery
•Touch to focus toggle
•Flash mode toggle
•Shutter sound toggle
•Geo-tag toggle
The camera app can be installed as a normal APK file. Installing this camera app does not replace the stock camera of your device and having installed it, you’ll see two different shortcuts in your app drawer.

Good one, but what does the SLO mode do? It seems locked for me. I can't use it. Anyone has an Idea.?
Few others I've used
Have been using many camera apps currently. All have some or the other feature which I like. I use according to my purpose.
1. Camera Zoom FX: Using it for its Voice Activated feature and its Collage feature. Voice activated mode will click only when you make a noise or say click or cheeze etc. You can use it when you click your own pics or wanna have a group pic.
Use collage mode and click multiple pics and you'll get all of them in single pic. That's way quicker then click normal pics and then use collage.
It also has a stable indicator that indicates when the object or the phone is stable to click the pic.
2. Pro Capture: For providing many various Focus and Scene modes in one touch, especially the Macro mode and the Fibonacci Spiral is also one of the best feature it gives. The golden Spiral does make sense in pictures, I personally believe.
3. Fast Burst Camera: Name says it all. Soon I'm gonna check the Moto X for its continuous shots and if the result is better I might replace. But this app is quick good. It clicks like a machine gun. Some times even if I try to click it ones it quickly response to the second touch and takes another shot . Sorry that might be a negative point as well
4. Camera 2: This app is real fun if you like to take pictures and video like that of Old time (1940s, 1960s, etc), It has Sci-Fi mode similar to Green coloured Matrix like of stuff with number falling down in a line. Comic mode, Artistic mode. Best part of the app is that you cannot just click pictures but also take videos in those modes.
Well I used many others too but removed them for less or more their limited features.
I hope this might help you in any way. :good:

can anybody help me getting the slo mode (slow motion) camera app working on sgs3 PLEASE??!
When shooting a video in low light I can see the subjects just fine on screen while recording. However once I complete the video (the whole time thinking everything was visible) and go to watch it I find the video is much darker than when I was taking it (still on the device screen). Anyone else notice this or know what to do to fix it? Not sure why it is so much brighter and more visible during the recording. Seems like it should be just as bright as it was when I was recording it.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. Thought hdr was only for photos.

Tried low light video with hdr on. Made no difference. I believe hdr only works for photos. It takes several photos at different exposures abd the combined them to one photo with the best of each one.
Thanks for the idea. Anyone else experience this or have an idea?
I'm also experiencing this issue. It's definitely lower light than it should be. Once video stars, it says something about auto-night mode being unavailable and the video comes out much darker than a photo would. I didn't see any way to turn night mode on manually. Ideas?
Hi,
I recently noticed that when I'm taking a video in 30fps is showing some banding. It happens in all cameras, stock, gcam, also tried whatsapp video. Even if I'm not recording and I just look at the screen in video mode I can see those lines, but if it's on photo mode no lines. And it's only with LED lights, not with day light.
I uploaded a video on youtube to see the banding I'm talking about. I can't share the link here because I'm new user, so it's not letting me do it. Is there another way of sharing the video? I tried taking screenshots but it's very hard to appreciate it.
Thank you!

Change anti banding from camera settings to 50HZ or 60HZ based on your region...check NTSC and PAL regions on internet...if PAL region then use 50HZ if NTSC use 60HZ
