Disabling Mobile View - Desire General

On the sense roms there is an option in the browser to disable viewing of mobile versions of websites.
However i am using a Froyo rom and even on Cyanogen there is no longer an option to do this. It forces the mobile version on you. I even tried Opera which has the option but it doesn't work in that for me.
And yes it is for porn.
Please help me view my porn. The sites i have tried all force you to a mobile version where you must pay. When they are free!

How about setting it not to accept cookies? Maybe a cookie is telling the sites you are on a mobile.
It's just a guess though as I wouldn't admit to using porn

Lmao... dirty beggers

I wonder if the phone is on vibrate while this porn is being viewed.

Hmm not a bad idea!

Type about:debug on address bar. Then go to settings > UAString > change to desktop and have fun!

I tried it. Type that stuff into the address bar, then press the menu button then settings. The settings list is expanded and includes a load of options. One of them is to change the mobile view setting. UAstring.

It works for both Froyo browser and stock browser. After entering about:debug, go to menu> settings as mentioned above.

Big fat LOL. It works a right treat.

Pages don't automatically go into mobile mode when you connect. It assumes you are a PC.

About:useragent is only temporarily while in the browser the second you exit out and really use it you have to really type that on the adress bar
I just use opera for all my Internet browsing needs.

just a quick update. If you use Opera Browser then even stock keyboard works well with your dictionary!

Actually thats why i created this thread b/c its not persistent. its only active per session. once you close the browser you have to do it again and again....... why can't we just disable "mobile view" permanently? so lame.
he want permanent desktop view.

Your OP didn't specify that you wanted it permanent, all you asked was if it was possible to change it.I haven't had any issues with Dolphin Browser HD freezing up at all & I have Desktop as my UA String & I use Dolphin Browser as my primary browser and use it quite heavily.
Your right about it being lame,I think it should be a option in the default settings.

Gotta throw in a bump on this one...really shocked this hasn't been one of the first mods to have been sorted out for this device.
I modded the browser source and compiled it if anyone is interested in it. Persistent ua string and a whole slew of options not normally visible. Require root and 4.0.3.

EDIT: nevermind, found your post in the other thread! Will check it out, cheers! (btw hopefully some more folks will take notice of your work, and ideally it would be great if your mod would get a sticky on this forum, given that it should be one of the very first mods that a GN owner would want!)

In the app drawer, select menu, show hidden apps, check the box and hit done. I found out about it myself, no need to open a thread about it

I couldn't find it either - it turns out that the "Show hidden applications" option is hidden.
Thanks for the help!
Hey, I couldn't see it either... This was driving me NUTZ... Was using the workaround of going to the Play store, viewing my installed apps, and starting the desired (hidden) app from there. Sheesh.... And YES, good thing you started a thread so it would be easily findable...
Solution-- on such menus, Samsung/Android need to have a scroll bar along edge to show how far menu goes... seriously. Simple solution.

I was having to use s voice! I'm no newb on this, but I didnt see the scrolling on the menu either until I did pages of googling. They are definitely lacking minute visual indicators in places.

Downloadable Popup Browser

I found this popup browser in the app store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ium=organic&utm_term=popup+browser+play+store
It's still in Beta so it's not perfect, but it works pretty well.
Give the developer some time and appreciation and more releases will be announced.
I know a lot of people have been looking for the downloadable popup browser app from the system, but this is the closest I can find without having a custom flashed rom.
If you do know how to have the system's popup browser as an app, please let me know.
If I helped you, give me a thank

What "custom flashed Rom" includes a download capable pop-up browser?
The Jellybomb 11.0 rom.

How ironic... here we are on computers with internet browsers that have built-in pop-up blockers and mobile schmucks are trying to install or use pop-up windows. Go figure...

You mis understood.
It's an internet browser that acts as a popup on mobile so yoi don't have to leave your current page, you just popup another browser if you need to do so.
It is not merely a popup with an ad.
It doesnt popup at random times, only when you click the app.

Are serious? ... first of all yes you will leave your current page unless you set "open new tab in background". Second a pop up browser you can use above any app, it's a mini browser, it's nothing like using multiple tabs.

I'm sorry it isn't helpful for you guys.
I find it handy especially if im not in a Web Page, if im in an app or somewhere else on the fun and wanna do a quick search, it's handy.
I guess if you don't appreciate or use it, just don't even say anything, thanks.
And also, system popup browser apk on Macks Rom.

It can play youtube videos, can be resized, etc.
Im sorry you didn't find this helpful, I guess im sorry for wasting your time?
If you wont like or appreciate, just dont even respond lol.
That's also basing it off of multi tasking.
If you dont have multi tasking you should probably get that update
