You need to get that from your phone provider, or you can buy your unlock code off of ebay.
As each code is linked to an IMEI, you will have to go to a reseller, or to your provider, to get your code. I got mine for free at freeg1unlockcodes.com, but there are many places on the web that will do it for you at a price.

Ask your provider to give you an unlock code, just tell them that you are going to be using you phone over seas and that you need it sim unlocked. I did that with T-Mobile and they said they would email it to me. It took about a week because they had to get it from HTC.
i called tmobile last night and asked for the code...they took my imei number and said i will get an email in a few days
Thank's adeway234, but I don't buy this HTC direct from provider who are "Boigues Telecom" (BT) I think, and for that, an unlock code will be hard to find.
Thank you anyway.

It's actually Bouygues Telecom, which is a french provider
To Angelgolp.
Im not shure for that, maybe is British Telecom, but I think is not important for me, I buy this phone second-hand and I wish to unlock them, I can't call to provider
Just try - this will not hurt you .
To litleclown
I think it was a joke from you
My post is to voicu_ady - there is no pain about asking some telecom for unlock code.
OK, Thank you very much!
contact jockyw2001, he can solve this for you (but isnt for free)
Hi guys, new here, great community. I did search for this, but could not find what I was after..
I have a new HTC Desire S. S-ON unfortunately. I am traveling Asia in 3 weeks and don't want to be using my UK T-mobile SIM whilst abroad. What I do want, is to buy a SIM card over there and use it. So I have to unlock this phone somehow.
Called T-Mobile, they said they will happily do it for 15 pounds, but it takes 28 days for the code to come back from HTC, this is too long for me as I leave in just 21 days.
I read about sieempi's unlock tool which looks amazing, but seems to be suited just for the Desire, not the Desire S. Has anyone had any luck using the tool with the Desire S?
Also, online it appears you can pay for an unlock code, about 30 pounds or so, you send them your IMEI number and network and they generate you an unlock code. Firstly, does this method reliably work? And secondly, if 3rd party websites have access to a method, does anyone else for free?
Warmest regards all, hope for some good responses!
DJS.
You can try to post this in the Desire S sub-forum, to get more responses.
BTW, no idea about your problem.
Try posting in Desire S forum. Anyway I have used a website in getting an unlock code and it worked for me no problem. Cost me £20 ish.

Hmm...maybe a codes the way then?
There might be a website that does it for free but it will take longer about a day or two. I know there is for blackberry not sure about htc. But yea most websites are fine
No idea about free but you will get a code and not have to send off your phone. I couldn't find a free site for the Desire.

Hi all,
I'm a spanish guy who has bought one HTC One X with Yoigo and I want to unlock it for others operator.
The HOX is the model S720e. I've tried to unlock it as the others HOX using the IMEI with the HTC servers who gives the unlock code, but when I try to do it, it doesnt work.
Could please anyone tell me what I can do to really unlock it? How works the databases and why it gaves me the wrong code?
Thanks and kind regards
HTC don't provide sim unlock codes.
Go on eBay, there are plenty of places that will send you the sim unlock code for a few euros.

Yes, i've tried with several of them, but the database that they use doesnt works well and gives me the same wrong code. So I want to know where they takes the databases, why it doesnt work for me, etc.
Won't Yoigo give you the code?

Yoigo will not give me the code until 18 months.... :S
Well, I think I've bought a tablet more than a phone... :S
As I found there's no way to do it with root no? Only for the HOS...
No, having root doesn't help.
Hi guys! first, thanks for your time.
I'm going crazy finding unlock code for my HTC One X.
I bought it on December 2012, from Personal (Telecom) Argentina.
I tried almost all the Ebay publications an all claim to don't have the unlock code.
I tried also, some pages too. I don't have any problem to pay for "fresh db" or something but I'm traveling out of my country in 1 month, and I need the unlock code in order to use local company from the other country.
Anyone know a VERY good page for unlock?
Thanks again for your time, and hope you all have a nice day.

I think SIM Unlock is not possible without S-Off...
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
The OP is right, SIM unlock is possible with the right code. Most people that did this bought it indeed from eBay. Maybe you can get some more info at your provider, or at least the provider where its locked to ?

Thanks for the quick reply guys.
My provider will give me the unlock code when the contract ends (in 1 more year).
I unlocked a lots of cellphones for friends, via ebay. But I don0t understand why nobody got the un lock code for my imei.
PD: I'm not asking for a software or rom for sim-unlock. Just good unlock pages to try (where you pay for the code).
Thanks again hope you have a wonderful weekend.

I successfully used cellunlocker.net on my previous hox and it was a tuff one as 2 other sites failed. Actually even they failed first attempt and I believe I had to try their 'alternate method' which worked. Took a few days though.
Good luck

Its a bit vague but I seem to remember they didn't have my code in their existing lists but advised me to use the alternate method on the website which I think means they ask HTC directly for it

Your picture shows that you have a locked network, but not simlock, you can change that with an unlock code.
Have you tried putting another SIM in it?

Phone O2 and speak to them about unlocking it, there is no free way or software to do it yourself, and the cost of paying O2 directly will outweigh the length of time and hassle spent trying a 3rd party.
to contact O2 I should have the contract of sale with all the information
* I have not
and request an unlock code on a free website I did test on network
I need a flash
