I got a device without knowing what Win CE 5.0 means!
And now I can throw a 400$ device in the garbage can!
Unless Anyone will unlock it for a reasonable sum of money.
The device is a Symbol MT 2090
The reason I got it was because this terminal has WLAN and I thought that it would also have Internet Explorer, but it doesn't.
After unlocking it, I still want to use the bar-code scanner and to be able to run on it a browser.
I am not allowed to write any email address yet but I will watch the threads daily. 10x
still locked
is there anyone able to help me?
I still have my device locked and no one to help me!
the main issue i have is with installing a browser on my wireless device (symbol MT 2090).
Please Guys!
UP!
Probably there is no result to my problem!
At least, somebody that knows... tell me!
The question was: Could I install any Browser on the Symbol MT2090?
I will pay 50 Euro for a browser that works
Hi again!
i saw that nobody wants to unlock my Symbol MT 2090
Probably an incentive will make you do it!
I can pay 50 euros for a browser that functions on my device.
I remind you that cab files cannot be installed on my device.
Thank you
go to slickdeals.net forums and post there in the tech support. usually people are good with software stuff.
At least I can try to help you.
Opera Mini 5 does run on my iPAQ 310, it's also a WinCE5 device.
I made a zip file for you, copy content to device.
and a screenshot:

And NOW What?
The Motorola Symbol MT 2090 runs the CE Core OS.
Our research indicates there are three editions of Windows CE 5.0:
-Core (bare bones)
-Pro (supports standard sdk features)
-Pro Plus
licensed at different prices.
Components needed for GSWBrowse are not included in the Core edition, only in the other two editions which cost more.
One cannot just legally take components from the Pro edition and upgrade the Core edition without violating Microsoft's licensing.
You will have to upgrade from Core to Pro.
I wish there was something we could do on our end but there isn't.
Let me know any questions, etc.

Nav2recent should work perfectly, just READ the howto and download it here : http://ppc.jhps.shacknet.nu/ Zip-pass is "xdatest"...
Navigate2 is downloadable too, but i only give out the password by mail or PM, since i want to know who is testing it
please give comments or bugreports !
(tested on WM2003 !)
Would you mind if i post a link to this topic to the guys at pocketgpsworld. They've developed a few tomtom addons and would probably be interested in this.
Be my guest, but like i said, i'm not giving the password for Navigate2 away to anyone...
I'd rather have some of the guys here test it first...
My final goal is NOT to make money out of it, but a FREE "navigate to appoinment location" tool available to anyone....
Why ? Because it STUPID that navigationsoftwar has a tool to navigat you to addresses you probably allready know (Your contactlist !), but NOT to addresses you drive to for the first time : APPOINMENT LOCATIONS...
If their willing to help : Great ! If they want to create a tool alike and 'hide' it on their site, or ask money for it: No way...
Just posted the link and hopefully it won't be abused.
The guys at pocketgpsworld have already developed and released (free) a tt5 addon called "POI Capture" which allows for quick saving of speed cameras of various types.
Good luck and i hope everything goes well.

Hi all...
I've been developing bits and pieces of stuff on my phone for my own use and I thought I'd share this with you. Unfortunately it's only useful for people who live in Sydney as it relies on 131500.com.au (locals will know what I'm talking about). Although that service has its own "Mobile" version webpage, I find it very inefficient to type in addresses and not have it remember my last selection - especially since I'm usually already in a hurry if I ever find myself needing to check the timetables.
It's a tiny (but multi-threaded for uber-fast interface) program (30kbs) that remembers your last To/From train stations and will directly fetch the timetable for trains in the next hour in a WebBrowser control. And a single-button (reverse) that gives you the same timetable for the other direction on your way home.
Note: uses internet data! - but only a single page. Probably 1kb or so each time?
Limitations (as by the 131500 mobile service): unable to directly give timetable for connecting trains. ie: both stations must be on the same line
Requires: .NET Compact Framework
Compatible with QVGA/VGA/WVGA devices. But I'm posting under blackstone forum because that's the phone I use
Freeware - and all comments/suggestions etc welcomed. Many thanks!
P.S. At uni now.. so i've only included a crude screenshot. I'll post a proper one if i get a fair bit of interest in this. thanks
hey mate do you think it would be possible to do up a brisbane one?
If there's a website that allows you to look up the brisbane timetables I don't see why not. alternatively if you can source a soft copy of the timetable?
www.qr.com.au
are you able to grab it from there?
Very useful, thanks!

I've just sent an email to QR. Will see what they say first..
It's good but don't like the fact it connects to the net to get the info.
If you look at timetables, they are mostly always the same, so you can get the info currently right now and make an offline version in which the times are accessible whenever and whenever there might be a new timetable, such as the new Chatswood lines, there could be an update button just to get the new times.
Other than that, good start but definitely needs an offline version.
Hi Guys,
I am writing a small application called Open WiFi Finder and I am looking for some Beta testers.

It is a .NET 3.5/OpenNETCF application that tries to locate open WiFi Access points. It does so by repeatedly trying to connect to the most powerful AP and ping a well known address for reply.
I am planning to sell this app on the Marketplace for a small fee, but before doing so, I would like to gain more confidence by testing it to more devices. I only own two rather old HTCs and it seems to work fine. Yet, I suspect that it behaves very differently with the various wireless adapters out there.
So please, If you like to help me with this, PM me with your email/device model so I can send you the cab to try it. It only supports Touch Screen devices with QVGA/WQVGA/VGA/WVGA. Of course, all selected beta testers will get the final cab free of charge..!
EDIT: I now have enough people willing to try it. I will let you know if I want some more. Thanks again everybody.
EDIT2: Link for download is here:

ok i am about to pm you. i am way excited to test this app.
sign me up pls
Ill give it a wirl for you
Guys, pm me your details please! Otherwise I don't have a way to contact you!

Cheers, and have a happy new year!!!

DAMN THAT WAS HELPFUL....thnx a lot now next time save it for urself...now honestly if one feel a newbie here is askin a question not worth an answer then....DON'T....but this attitude isn't productive
to avoid any more flamewars.... does anybody know of such a well made, easy to use app?
Have you tried this one?
Times Professional 1.5
http://www.mobiletopsoft.com/pocket-pc/download-times-professional-1-5.html Its an ugly interface, its not free, but there is a trial and it claims to be pretty functional. Includes synching ability with other PDAs.
Yeah, that was one that I looked at, but still, I'll be looking at this multiple times per day, I kinda wanted this to be a bit more pretty I'm a graphic designer, and tables and tree-views and drop-downs just don't do it for me. Maybe such an app isnt at all available for a WM device but still, I have some hope that someone has stumbled upon something like this
Since Microsoft first released Windows Phone 7, I convinced my self to "NOT BUY" the very first release because I know and I think most of us knows that a few months or weeks, an improved version will be available.. Well probably upgrading a ROM is the answer but anyway, my few suggestions to improve some navigations.
A like to suggest in horizontal panning effect which I think is a very nice and beautiful. But to improve the navigation, here are some my suggestion.
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

Ok. So another one would be, in Application List navigation.
also posted in my blog site
http://jaysonragasa.net/post/A-few-suggestion-for-Windows-Phone-7.aspx
To be honest, those are nice concepts. I can easily see the Application list getting changed to allow grid support. Can't say much about the other.
FYI Windows Phone 7 is going to be very easy to update. It has a real updater unlike Windows Mobile. You wont have to flash a rom and wipe out all your apps and settings to get OS updates anymore. At least thats what Microsoft is claiming.

the question is, will it be "free" ? which I don't believe it will.
and if not .. well most of us I think will still swim around this kind of site for free upgrade, patched ROMs that we will still injecting in our phone's vains
EDIT:
-- ok, so hopefully it will be free like Windows OS
another suggestion would be
Bing search results.
Will it be nice to search inside your phone too such as Contacts, Applications, Calendar, and files? here's the preview.
