Hello all, i have been installing non market apps to my Motorola backflip and all has been going well until i got this error saying:
Some of the files in this package already exist in the gamespy arcade destination directory:
"C:/PROGRA~2/GAMESP~1/CUSTOM/RES/DRAWABLE/".
Overwrite existing custom game/service files?
I dont know what to do because overwriting it does nothing at all, and the app doesnt install...

Hi there, i'm developing some platform signed apps, though i want to install them on my Hero without flashing the image (running stock image).
My problem is that the stock image will have been signed with a different cert then the one i have to sign my app. Does anyone no of a way i can extract the cert from the rom on my device so i can sign my app with the same cert?
Any info on installing system apps without flashing a new rom will be appreciated.
Thanks, Ne0
You can probably use the Root explorer go in and move the cert file to your SD card or extract one of these update.zip roms and get it that way.
Hi guys,
For 3 hours I have been trying to modify the manifest files of several games and tools so that I could activate the "Move to SD" button in Froyo. On the android website I found that you had to put <android:installLocation="auto"> in the manifest file.
What I first did was decompiling the originalen apk file (with APKTool 1.3.1), modified the manifest file and then recompiled the whole file again. When I tried to install the app on my phone I got and error: "App not installed".
Can anyone help me with my problem?
(I know that there is a topic about the App2SD thing but this involves rooting the phone.)
When i install an application from the market, in which folder it has been installed? Can i change the installation folder manually and collect all the installations into one folder i.e. /mnt/sdcard/Applications?
Also, where i can find .apk files downloaded from Android Market?
PS. I have Official Froyo ROM (not rooted)
I removed some apps by getting rid of the apk and odex file (which from what I can tell is some compressed classes or something like that - maybe similar to a library?) Anyway, simply putting the files back in the apps directory won't reinstall the application. And when I try and install the package via adb's install command, it complains about not having the odex its looking for. So, I can copy the odex to the app directory but then the installer complains about not being able to find /sbin/pm. Has anyone had any success with doing something like this?
Thanks!
So as an update, I did find pm in /system/bin/. Does anyone know how to change the path that adb install uses to look for pm?
Ive been trying forever to figure this out, so here is my problem.
I'm trying to modify the The textures (atlas.png) and the sounds of the popular game Flappy Bird but every time i try to install the newly modified apk i get the Application is not installed message and i am trying everything possible i find on this forum but i cant find a solution.
The way i modified to apk:
1. open the apk in 7zip
2. make the new files it Photoshop and audacity (made sure i saved in the right file type)
3. replaced the old files with the new ones
4 saved the apk and tried to install it on my phone (didn't work got the application not installed)
How i got the apk
1. went to android/data/apps/Flappybird.apk
Second way i tryed to install it:
1 copied the new apk to the directory i used above
2 restarted my phone
3. the app got automatically "deleted"
I need help plz
