Anyone tried to use energizer emergency charger - Desire General

Anyone tried the emergency charger by energizer that uses 2 AA batteries, looks like it should do the trick in a pinch

Evo chargers - need advice

I was looking at getting a couple of these to charge directly from AC, so I can leave it next to my bed overnight. According to the reviews, it looks like it should work. Should I expect any issues using it?
Also, I'd like to get a couple extra USB cables to connect the Evo to a computer, cheaply, any suggestions for a place to get those? Prefer Amazon, but eBay is okay.
How about a car charger, too? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I grabbed a couple Seido docks from Amazon for $14.99 shipped, here. They're out of stock and it might take a few weeks, but you can get 2 for the price of one if you are willing to wait. I think I am going to use the USB cable they provide and plug it into my, now useless, OEM Hero AC wall adapter. It has the flip out prongs and a spot to plug the USB cable into, so I think it should work fine to convert these docks into wall chargers. Output shows 5V on the Hero AC charger. Anyone tried this or think it will work?
Truthfully. I goto ebay and I get my chargers from there. I always look for the cheapest in USA and I get the car and house chargers both for like 3 shipped haha. I have NEVER had isssues with them , and I get them for all my friends and family. Same goes for the USB cables, in the end they are pretty much the same.
The blackberry chargers work perfect. I have been using them for a couple of months now.
I prefer using the blackberry over htc because of the long [email protected]$ cord! lol Ive been using it since the first day i bought my phone and no problems.. hehe
+1 on the Blackberry chargers/ cables my evo cable and wall adapter are in the box i use my old curve cable much better made and don't wear out like the htc one's do
Agreed!! Ha

Spare battery charger?

My favorite accessory for my samsung fascinate was the spare battery with its own dedicated charger. It could charge in the house or in the car due to its micro usb input for power. I often left this in my vehicle and just swapped batteries out there.
Ive scoured the internet and have failed to find one for the thunderbolt as they all seem to require an AC charger. Have any of you found one got the thunderbolt? Now I have 7 oem thunderbolt batteries and need a way to charge them. Especially since I'm headed to Bonnaroo....

going to bonnaroo with 7 batteries. haha thats great man but nah I have not seen anything like that. I snagged one of those el cheapo china wall battery charger with built in USB port (for charging another device) and that works great. But seriously if you have 7 batteries i dont see the need for a charger you speak of, sounds cool though.
ahahahaha that's so many damn batteries
I bought one on eBay that has the electrical plugs that fold into it and also has a plug for a USB cable.
I haven't tried the cable part though.

Car charger issues

Anyone else have issues with certain car chargers not working? To clarify, I'm using an oem Motorola car charger with a Verizon 16gb S3. It charges my old X2 and my friends' DROID charge without an issue. The charger is rated for 750mA. Any idea as to how I might fix it? Alternatively, any suggestions or links to car chargers that definitely work?

What are you guys running for car power?

I just ordered a Griffin PowerJolt. I hope I get one of the newer ones that work with ac mode.
I use the USB port in my deck.

I just got one of the low profile Griffin Powerjolts .... I haven't used it for a full charge yet, but it appears to work ok so far.
What is the AC mode you are speaking of?
I don't recall the exact part number, but its the oem HTC kit I got for my One S prior to trading it in. Nothing fancy, but high quality and power, and the S3 doesn't seem to be picky.

How do you stop the deck from trying to index the whole phone? That is the problem I've had when trying that in the past. Is their a setting somewhere, or a cable mod that allows charging but no data?
I use the I-GO, bought it at Radio Shack in I think 2004, been able to charge any phone I've had since then all you have to do is buy the little adapter for each phone, just got one for my GSII for 7 bucks after changing from an IPhone.
Using the t mobile branded mini usb chadger that i got with moto razr. I added a mini to micro usb adapter.

Scosche reVIVE II. It has 2 ports, 1amp and 2.1amp. I usually use the 2.1 amp port and it works great.

I was using some cheap usb charger but it was going loose all the time so I purchased Scosche Powerfuze.
It is a bit expensive but top notch product.

Some cheapo usb adapters do not charge at full power. They charge as if they are plugged into a computer (500ma)
It is because the factory forgets to short the datapins.

I use the motorola charger. I had heard good things so I bought one and it seems to work just fine.

When I plug my phone in its charge only. Only when I go to "USB mode" dose it index the phone.

I did a lot of research and came up with the following. Been using it for a week now and it charges fast. I did short out the two center usb pins. This is a true 3.1 amp charger. It does not split the power to charge two devices like most 2 amp chargers do. One plug is 1 amp and the other is 2.1 amp.
