Just on the off chance a fellow Desire owner owns a new Renault.. We're renting a new Renault Scenic. My Desire's blue tooth is successfully paired, but I can't figure out how to play my music collection through the Renaults speakers. Any one have any experience of this?
Ta,
Joe
i have a new renault and shall try to play music
id like to know how well the desire works with the renault systems too. i have a clio & am about to get a desire.
If the Desire doesn't work in your car, get a new car.
you guys need to get your priorities straight.

In the past I have used my HTC hero with my cars stereo to talk to people and also play my music as it is able to do both. For some reason though it looks like HTC has taken the option to play music through my car kit out of the Desire as all I can do is use the phone feature.
Does anyone know why this has been done and is there a way of getting it to do as the hero did with an apk.? Or am I being stupid here and missing something real simple?
Cheers

I got my desire yesterday and the music plays back over bluetooth to my headunit without any problem. I'd suggest re-pairing.
I too can confirm it works correctly with my new ford fiesta, using the standard bluetooth
Cheers for the feedback. I will try re-pairing again and see if it was just a bad original set up.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Cheers

I am working with Kenwood on coming up with a video audio type of car deck connection, does anyone know if the htc desire can process audio and video threw the micr-usb
wow no replies okay
You might try to contact HTC directly. If it is not yet possible, then you might be able to convince them to do it for new phones, or even through firmware/OS updates!
Another option is Bluetooth. I know from a friend that the iPhone is already able to play music over a car stereo using Bluetooth. Too bad my car stereo has no Bluetooth, so I can't try it with my Desire...
And whatever you come up with, feel free to send me a few samples for testing
Hello all, this is my first post after a long time viewing this great forum.
I was wondering, could the HTC Desire be turned into a wireless audio receiver with A2DP? My stereo bluetooth headset died recently, and I got used to watching movies on the PC while using them as headphones. So I was wondering if it was possible to turn the phone into a receiver in the same manner.
If it's not possible, is it a hardware limitation?
Thanks.
+1 for this thread,
-Even i was looking for same app ,so that i can connect my desire to my laptop using bluetooth and use it as a wireless head phone.
-I lost my head phone too, I have Desire's hands free , i was wondering if i could use it as a head set..for my pc through bluetooth..!!

I've tried searching for any input on this subject, but I couldn't find any real info about it.
We know the Desire can transmit stereo over A2DP, and can receive mono when you are talking with a BT device. But does this indicate the ability to receive stereo over A2DP? I hope there is no hardware limitation for that.
If it is possible, I guess an application would act like an A2DP device, so that the BT software on the PC would recognize it as such. I'm really hoping to see such a feature, or at least to know if it's possible.
Hi could someone please help me out please
I have a Supertooth Buddy Handsfree Kit and It connects to my HTC Desire, but it only connects on the Phone Audio profile and NOT the Media Audio profile... My N97 seems to work fine it can stream Media Audio and Phone Audio
Right I contacted HTC see if they could help they said its impossible to do that Nokia phones do it coz they have more Bluetooth profiles than HTC coz they helped create the the technology....
okay to the point I know stuff can be hacked and altered/added (unofficial/illegally whatever you wanna call it) so I came across this How to connect mini bluetooh keyboard to Desire Froyo
That thread up there seems to explain how to add a Bluetooth Keyboard, so am guessing its actually adding in a Profile.
Is it possible that someone can help me out on this? I already have a rooted phone.
Hi
Could someone tell if its possible to get meta data to work when streaming though bluetooth?
my ipod touch 3rd gen will transmit song info to my car stereo but the brand new all singing and dancing provides no info to my pioneer head unit.
My sony mw600 also fails to show any info unless a call is coming in, seems strange that calls work but not music.
thanks.
