What carrier? Stock ROM?

Under Verizon stock 6.5 ROM there are no keys there beginning with "V".
There is a folder called VoiceMail. It has one String Value key (Default) with an empty value.
There is a folder called VoicePrivacy with the following keys:
(Default), String Value, not set
ItemCount, DWord, Decimal 2
ItemName1, String, Enable
ItemName2, String, Disable
ItemValue1, DWord, Decimal 0
ItemValue2, DWord, Decimal 1

Thanks man

Your best bet is to back up your files and txt's or whatever you got, you can use WINDOWS MYPHONE @ www.myphone.microsoft.com , but create an account first (usually live account) then download the program to your cellphone, takes a while if you got alot of txt's to backup. theres also other backup programs too.
And then format the whole device to its factory settings. That's what I did. Not a smart with registry, but in school to learn more about it all i know is never to mess with it unless you know what to do.

unless you backed up your registry, a hard reset sounds like the right answer.

Yup. Registry backup is always the best thing to do before tampering it. Otherwise just doin a HARD RESET.

UNI_QTEK_13096_185_10900_GER_Ship.exe: WiFi Today plugin

Hello group
A strange thing happened yesterday. I updated a Qtek 9000 with that ROM. After the setup, which went without a glitch, I clicked my way through the initial setup until it told me that it would now start installing default apps. Before that, I got a glimpse of the today screen. It showed a WiFi applet, telling me that at the moment no AP was near.
After the automatic default app setup, the plugin was gone. Not just deactivated, I couldn't activate it in the "Today" settings tool.
Uhm... any suggestions? Is it possible that there's software hidden which can be made visible? How so?
Thank you.
I just did it - updated to UNI_QTEK_13077_176_10900_WWE_Ship.exe. During the custom app install sequence, it ran a program called something like "PT_remove_wireless_today.cab" :x
Why is this?
To see this, you have two choices. Either hard reset your device and then just after completing the screen setup soft reset your device, to prevent the customization. Or you can add the following registry values to your device;
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Today\Items
Then add a new key called "Wireless"
under this key add the following DWord values
Enabled = 0x1 (1)
Flags = 0x0 (0)
Options = 0x0 (0)
Order = 0x1 (1)
Type = 0x4 (4)
And then add a new String Value called
DLL = netui.dll
Thank you - it works. Is there a list somewhere with "hidden gadgets"?

Camera picture counter P3300

I you want to set the counter at a specific value (after a reset to continue numbering)
Open registry ((With PHM registry editor for exemple)
Go to
HKCU/software/htx/camera/4.03/Preferences
At position 0068h you 'll find the current value, change it to the value you want but don't forget value should be inserted in Hexa

Treo 750 left soft key hack

I performed the below hack:
1) Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Key\112 using any Registry Editor.
2) Tap on the Default string to open it up and change the value data to eg: Message.
3) Tap on the Open string to open it up and change the value data to Messaging.exe.
4) Reset your Phone or remove the battery to finalize the change.
I want to change it back and cannot remember what it was originally.
What do I need to put where it says Messages on the default string?
What do I need to put where it say Messaging.exe on the open string?
Thanks in advance for your time.

[Q] Opinions on the LG Quantum WP7 hacks ect...

I was just looking for some opinions... It seems to me that out of all the WP7 Devices, the LG Quantum is the easiest to make changes to simply because of MFG.
Debranding and unlocks take just a couple of seconds and seem to be more reliable when I look at all the different posts on here. Incase anyone is looking for them for the quantum, here they are btw...
LG "debranding" hack
1. Enable the MFG application by going to the dialer and dialing ##634# then pressing call.
2. Launch the MFG application and enter 277634#*# when prompted for a password.
3. Select the Engineer Menu item.
4. Select the Other Setting menu item.
5. Select the Edit registry menu item.
6. Set the input boxes on this menu as follows:
Select ROOT_PATH: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Input SUB_PATH: \System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo\
Input KEY: MobileOperator
Data Type: STRING
Instead of putting in a blank, put in an empty space.
Also, if you want to re-brand your phone after the update for AT&T your input should be ATT-US
7. Select Query and write down the result in case you need to re-brand for some reason.
8. To debrand just enter the same information above and leave the input data field blank. The tool will say fail but it really did set correctly.
You can now connect to Zune and check for updates.
How to Un-Lock your Phone without Chevron 7
You can unlock the phone by using the MFG registry editor.
Open the MFG app and use the password to open it. If you don't know it's (appmfg#*#)
Go to Engineer Menu -> Other Settings -> Edit Registry
Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Set your input path to "\Comm\Security\LVMod"
Set your input key to "DeveloperUnlockState" and set to DWORD
Hit Query. Output result should return a "0" or a random long number. If it does continue.
Set your input data box to "1" and hit SET. Output result should be 1
How To Keep Your Phone Unlocked
You can keep your phone unlocked and prevent Zune from re-locking it.
Open the MFG app and use the password to open it. If you don't know it's (appmfg#*#)
Go to Engineer Menu -> Other Settings -> Edit Registry
Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Set your input path to "\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg"
Set your input key to "PortalUrlProd" and set to DWORD
Hit Query. Output result should return data. If it does continue.
Keep your input data box empty and hit SET. Output result should be 0
Keep this screen open and continue to Part 2
Part 2
Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Set your input path to "\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg"
Set your input key to "PortalUrlInt" and set to DWORD
Hit Query. Output result should return data. If it does continue.
Keep your input data box empty and hit SET. Output result should be 0
Backout to the password screen and shutdown the phone via powerbutton.
Reboot and sync. Your phone should stay unlocked.
How to Re-Lock your Phone without Chevron 7
Don't want your phone unlocked anymore? You can re-lock the phone by using the MFG registry editor.
Open the MFG app and use the password to open it. If you don't know it's (appmfg#*#)
Go to Engineer Menu -> Other Settings -> Edit Registry
Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Set your input path to "\Comm\Security\LVMod"
Set your input key to "DeveloperUnlockState" and set to DWORD
Hit Query. Output result should return a "1". If it does continue.
Set your input data box to "0" and hit SET. Output result should be 0
Your phone is now locked. To Unlock the phone redo the above steps but set back to "1"
Oh and I can confirm this unlock method works and keeps it unlocked.
Then once unlocked, if you combine it with the Chevron ringtone manager-> http://www.chevronwp7.com/post/20542...ngtone-manager, and any registry changes you know of such as changing themes and such, there really doesn't seem to be much you cant do with it. Is my opinion accurate? Or is it just skewed because I love this phone? Also, is the MFG the reason why it doesn't seem like anyone has worked on software for the phone like they have with the Samsung and HTC models?
Nothing unstable about my hd7. Wonder if LG ha finally broken the feature phone stigma.
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
@nrfitchett4
I have to say I think so with this one, i always hated LG, but i fell in love with the physical keyboard, even before NoDo i didnt have marketplace issues... out of the three from AT&T, this one is def my fave, and it seems like it is just so much easier to hack and change with MFG... with your HD7, does it have anything like MFG already on the phone? My understanding was HTC phones had to use software on ur PC to get inside

Auto hide navigation bar

Is it posible to make navigation bar stay hidden until show gesture is made ( not poping up when apps are opened, or on lock screen), or programe it to auto hide after 3sec for example. Making it completely manualy controled, to show up only when we want it.
You need to change the key from 1 to 0 HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\NavigationBar\IsSwipeUpToHideEnabled
Worked without a reboot.
Loading screens will pull the navbar up to be visible, at least with this we can hide it on-demand.
I cant find this registry key
