THIS IS DRIVING ME MAD - Bluetooth plays media files everytime I start car - Desire General

My car has bluetooth built in and it works fine. It also has a USB socket, which shares the AUX button on my cars headset with the BT audio.
However, everytime I go to the car ( I leave by BT on all day as I am constantly in and out of the car) it automatically starts playing media files from the phone. When this happens, it disables the USB input , unless I pull out the USB and put it back in again.
I turn off the 'media' tick box in bluetooth settings for the pairing, hit return, yet the next time I get in the car, it turns itself back on.
Is there a way of permanently disabling the 'media' setting in the bluetooth settings for this pairing?
I have this phone also paired to another car, but that one doesn't have the media option in its settings.
Also does anyone know how to get the phone to connect to the headset during a phone call while the ringtone is ringing? This phone sends the sound over to the head unit as soon as the call is answered, meaning that I never know if it is ringing or not, or connected. It would be nice to hear the ringtone ringing over the speakers and before it is picked up.

A friend of mine has the same problem with his bluetooth carkit. But not only when he start his car. I'm curious for a solution.

It's your radio .. incorrect support and usage of bluetooth specifications

I dont think it is the radio, because I can turn off 'media'in the bluetooth settings/bluetooth devices/options, and leave 'phone'on.
The next time I get back into the car, media turns itself back on automatically and starts playing tracks from the phone through the radio.
The bluetooth pairing on the phone that exists for the other car I have does not have a media setting.
Is there an advanced bluetooth settings app that can permantly leave the 'media' button unchecked?

Mediaplayer and bluetooth wireless stereo

I have a Jabra BT620s bluetooth wireless stereo headset which I use as an headset and my music headset on the touch hd. I paired them succesfully and playing music with mediaplayer works perfectly.
The problem is when I turn on my Jabra headset. It pairs with my phone fine, but it isnt set as wireless stereo on start. So I have to set it in the bluetooth configuration screen everytime I turn the headset on, cause else the music plays over the speaker of the phone.
Is there anyway to let windows mobile always be forced to set the headset as wireless stereo?
Same problem with Funkwerk EGO Talk
I've have got the same problem with Funkwerk EGO Talk Bluetooth carkit with A2DP. Pairs at the start with Headset Profile, so calling works(except the hangup button btw, ?which redails?? most of the time). But it doesn't start the wireless stereo profile.
I have to "Set as wireless Stereo" everytime i reconnect with the carkit
Anyone has a solution or workaround to start "Set as Wireless Stereo" automaticly or at least in 1 button?
Guys, using the search function would have turned up the following solutions found previously on these forums:
a) use Mortscript to macro the key presses
b) firmware update the headset (i.e. Jabra)
c) try turning on music and bluetooth before the headset - worked for some people
I have the same problem as you, any other suggestions?
I've the same problem with Moto music/blutooth headset
Hmmm
I don't have this problem with my Sony-E HBH BT set. Each time I turn it on the pairing is automatic and get stereo immediately.
I also can have the pocket player or TF3D media player running or not and it will change "on the fly" to BT when I turn on the headset.
No problem here with Motorola S805's.
I turn the phone BT on, turn the headphones on, press play on the headphones and get music.
I have the same problem with my motorola S705
Auto pairing with calls is ok but not with stereo A2DP. I must turn headset on manually in the bluetooth otpions which is quite long and annoying.
Pairing was working good with my TyTN. So there might be a problem somewhere
I've had some problems with my Samsung SBH170 not connecting at all.
I removed them from the BT settings and repaired, now they are found with out problems, allthough not very quickly.
In 'Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3' I came across 'Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service' which was disabeled, I enabled it and rebooted, but it doesn't seem to make any difference on my machine. According to this thread it may be required to enable audio over bluetooth: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424424

Bluetooth help

Hi,
I have several bluetooth questions.
1. On my old TP2, once paired with BT in my car, as long as I would leave phone bluetooth on, it would auto connect every time I started my car. Nothing had to be done unless I reset the phone or turn BT off.
With ET4G, I have to manually go to BT settings and clique on my car BT to have it paired every single time I get into my car. Is that the way it works for everyone or is there a problem? It finds the car BT when I start the car, but does not auto pair.
2. I know officially Skype and Gtalk do not support BT audio out. Is there a way around? I use those apps to video chat while on the road, and on highway, speakerphone is too weak. Besides, it is located on the back of the phone, right against the windshield holder. Any ideas???
Thanks.
Mike
My BT connects every time I start my car or truck. I have a Pioneer Navigation Radio in the Car and Ford Sync in the Truck. BT has been pretty good for me so far. If you have not done so, maybe try and un-pair and re-pair it and see if that helps.
No problem here with car BT connecting automatically.
If you want Skype BT, use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1148708 (bonus: you can turn off annoying start up/exit sound)

Bluetooth issues - Please help!

I love this phone so far, but one issue has me wanting to send it back to tmobile. My car comes with a Bluetooth stereo, and I have it paired with my m8. The problem is with the phone's OS and Bluetooth prioritization.
When I place a call, a window pops-up and asks what audio method I want to use. It is unnecessary, but I could live with that.
When a call comes in, it always defaults to the phone's internal speaker. I have to take it out of my pocket and manually select Bluetooth audio. Sometimes it doesn't even switch over after it is selected.
Is there a way to make it always default to Bluetooth audio when connected? It is driving me crazy!

Automatic switching between watch bluetooth and car bluetooth?

Does anyone know a way to tell the phone to connect to the car bluetooth for calls rather than the watch when I get in the car? Then also switch back to watch bluetooth calls when I leave the car?
thanks
Does the car connect to the phone at all when you get in, or does being connected to the watch block this?
I'm wondering if you place the call/answer the call with the car's menu system/steering wheel controls what happens, or if you are unable to even get this far.
Same problem
I'm having the exact same problem.
Carkit does connect (you can see in settings) but it says "(no phone calls)".
Watch is alsoo connected and says "(phone calls)
When i use voice control or the buttons on the dash to start a call it says no phone connected.
So my phone says that it is connected to carkit (no phone calls notification however), but if i look in settings from carkit it does'nt show phone connected...
The phone doesn't even connect to the car - I have to go into bluetooth settings on the phone and manually swap between the two when I get in and out of the car. I only connect to the cars on phone, not media audio.
I use the phone in 2 different cars, so ideally want to be able to automatically prioritise which bluetooth it connects to. I know there are apps like tasker which can do this but they are so complicated (or I'm too blonde!).
other thread
Found another thread already covering the subject...
Hope this helps...

Car Bluetooth

Hey guys, i got a question.
I would like to purchase the watch but i am doubting something. If my watch would be connected to my phone and i step into my car and normally my phone auto-connect over bluetooth to my car audio system. Would it still do that? And i'm i able to pick music on my watch in the car, example Spotify library, to play on my car audio.
The Bluetooth should work just fine. I don't have it with a car Bluetooth but when using the Bluetooth headphones it doesn't have any issue at all because both link directly to the phone.
The music controls are another thing, you can use it as a remote to play, pause, skip or go back through the tracks but it doesn't let you select whatever you want directly from the phone(selecting playlists or songs from them).
If you download playlists on the watch because you have premium you can go through them and select the songs just fine, but then you wouldn't be using the phone to play the music, so you should check if the car would let you have two devices connected at the same time if you want the phone linked for something else.
Tldr: Remote or standalone Bluetooth music yes, total control of the phone app no.
Ive been having issues with that as well. Do you have android auto in your car? If so, you need to go into AA options on your phone and go to quick connect and only have your phone connect.
I can confirm that you can still use BT on your car and have it connect at the same time with your watch. If you are having issue connecting just go to your car's BT settings and force the connection and it should connect to your phone for media. I use my watch when I'm driving to change a song without having to move my hand from the steering wheel.
Let me add to this that, at least for me, it is *not* possible to have the watch connected as a handsfree device to the phone together with the car kit. So the watch is connected, but I can't answer calls with it if I want the phone to connect to the carkit. It (the phone) simply rejects that request if the watch is connected.
This is why I don't want a smart watch. Only because when I sit in my car it will not connect to car and disable on watch.
