scroll on touch flo to your mail tab --> then take the right button ( smthg like settings)--> accounts--> accounts--> select your GMAIL account and delete it
first you might have to disselect your mail account and erase the mailboxes
as simple as that
cheers, stephan1
Its not working ....Delete account doesnt even come up....
it's locked
should be somewhere in registry
you can use provisioning to delete it.
should work with your case
I am attaching tool to provision pda over usb,
i created templates for various settings inside,
first you have to find out ID that mail account have, to do that, drug&drop emails link into the BAT file
there would be output file created in the same folder,
like this:
<wap-provisioningdoc>
<characteristic type="EMAIL2" recursive="true">
<characteristic type="{7FFC97D2-6D48-253D-6167-305F3771FBA5}">
<parm name="SERVICENAME" value="g"/>
....a lot of entries...
</characteristic>
</characteristic>
</wap-provisioningdoc>
now you edit that file to have this:
<wap-provisioningdoc>
<characteristic type="EMAIL2" recursive="true">
<nocharacteristic type="{7FFC97D2-6D48-253D-6167-305F3771FBA5}" />
</characteristic>
</wap-provisioningdoc>
NOTE:
- one of last </characteristic> deleted
- / on the end of ID
- 'no' before characteristic
- all entries deleted
then save the file and drop it into BAT

Reminder FIX:
From RandyRants.com:
Step 1: Make a change to your Normal profile. Raise the volume of some alert or something. Change something to get the device to create the following file: \Application Data\Profiles\Normal.prof.xml
Step 2: Connect via ActiveSync on XP or WMDC on Vista and copy this file to your desktop.
Step 3: Edit this XML file - add the following blurb to the SoundCategories section:
<characteristic type="Reminder">
<parm name="Script" value="v0p" />
<parm name="InitVol" value="4" />
</characteristic>
Step 4: Save this file on your PC.
Step 5: Set the System flag on this file. You can do this with a right click on the file and setting the properties or via a command prompt: attrib +s normal.prof.xml.
Step 6: Now copy it back to \Application Data\Profiles
I posted this to another thread, but the steps have changed... seems that if you don't have the System attribute set on the profile XML files before moving them to the phone it renders them useless. It also seems that on Vista with WMDC it keeps the attributes fine (inspite of having to change the OS to even see the files) but on XP/2003 with ActiveSync the System flag is removed when the file comes from the phone.
Either way, good luck with it!

getwsted at HF found a solution for the screen rotation issue:
Add the following Key "Rotation" under HKLM\System\GDI\
e.g. [HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation]
Then Add this dword.
"LandscapeMode"=0
It solved my problem with Orb and other Videos with WMP in full screen mode.

Bluetooth Voice Command Fix:
WM6 Voice Command 1.6
Voice Command is a very powerful program that will allow you to control your WM6 Excalibur with your voice.
* Hands-free phone
* Dial your phone by voice using the phone number
* Contact lookup
* View contacts with a voice command
* Have the subject, time, and location of upcoming appointments read to you
* Media player
* Program starter
* Device Status
Enable Voice Command
Start > Voice Command
Voice Enabled > Yes
Announcement Routing > Bluetooth if Available
This setting will allow Voice Command to use the Excalibur phone speaker to respond to vocal commands, if you don't have a bluetooth headset connected.
IMPORTANT: Soft Reset to enable the changes to Voice Command
After the soft reset, press and hold the home key. This is the default Record Application Button which activates Voice Command. When you hear the beep say, "Help". Voice command will then guide you through the available voice commands.
IMPORTANT: Do not talk directly into the microphone. Hold the phone 4 inches/100mm from your voice. The response from Voice Command will take a few seconds.
A Voice Command tutorial from Microsoft is here.
Enable Voice Command with a Bluetooth Headset
With the current beta release of WM6, you need to modify the following registry settings to use your bluetooth headset with this feature.
NOTE: Your Excalibur has to be application unlocked to make modifications to the registry.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule
The string value needs to be changed from "OEMAGW.dll" to "\Windows\vcbthag.dll".
IMPORTANT: Soft Reset to enable the changes to Voice Command
After the phone reboots, your bluetooth headset will now be able to use Voice Command by pressing the button on your headset. Wait for the beep, then speak the command.
Viel Spaß mit Voice Command,
jromney

Thanks for the fixes. Unfortunately, none of the work for me. I have the files unhidden and apparently no files appear in my App Data/Profiles folder when modifying any of the profiles.
Also, when trying to add a new key to the GDI registry folder, I get an error message saying I can't do so. I'm using Resco Explorer's registry editor btw.

My friend I had the very same problem you are having now. The reason you are getting that error message is because, your wm6 ROM got corrupted some how. what I did was, reinstall the clean wm5 ROM all over again, after that, I reinstall the new wm6 official upgrade Rom and also you will have to application unlock your device all over again! Now everything will work fine!
Reminder FIX - doesn work.
The reminder fix doesn't seem to work with the release version of WM6 for the Dash.
In fact, if you do this mod, you woun't be able to switch to "Normal" profile.
It seems if the OS determines that the profile's XML file is inavlid in some way, it will refuse to load it, and this mod seems to be invalid to the OS.
This is a BIG bug with the dash (no reminder volume setting) - I hope they release a patch for it.
UPDATE: I just found and read the full version of this fix (where you need to change the "system" attribute) and it actually now does work. I am going to try to create a CAB file to do the patch so users won't have to do all the copy to/from their PC.
UPDATE: See this page for the CAB file - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1271705#post1271705
Does anyone know how to ensure that your time is always in sync with your Exchange server? I never had this problem with WM5 but since I have upgraded my Dash's internal clock seems to have gone cuckoo. If I turn it off, and turn it back on my Dash thinks it's the same time that I turned it off at. It's like the clock just stops (would be nice if it happened in real life!)
Barring a fix, does anyone know of a utility that syncs WM time with a time server over the net using SNTP?
Edit: I found this:

see thats why we use the wiki, so you don't need to bump
Somehow when copying back edited profile files, it does not retain System attribute on the flag, which, as already mentioned earlier, renders profiles unsuable.
Here is a simple workaround that I came across:
1) On your phone, open Vibrate profile for editing. Change something and save. This will force it to create the Meeting.Prof.xml profile file in the Profiles folder.
2) From ActiveSync, navigate to that folder on your phone and rename the file to Normal.Prof.xml
Now you can go back to your phone, open Normal profile for editing and the Reminder option will be there.
Hope this helps.
Unable to change profile
Unable to change profile?
Delete files in Application Data/Home/Profiles
then go to Start - Settings - Profiles
Switch to your desired Profile or re-customize your settings on every profile that you want
**xxxx.prof.xml files in Application Data/Home/Profiles contains the customizations made on every profile, example if you have only customized the Normal profile, normal.prof.xml will be automatically generated at Application Data/Home/Profiles.So deleting the xx.prof.xml file will revert the profile customization back to default.

Massive Fail.
You've got the time to throw all of what's in your original post together, you've got time to append it to a wiki.
/Massive Fail.
I own an Australian (Optus, original ROM version = i780DTHD1) version of the i780 which I recently upgraded to an official Samsung release Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro ROM meant for Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam (i780PDXIB1) which I downloaded from the Samsung OS Upgrader website. There is no official WM6.1 ROM for Australia yet.
At first, the upgrader checks to make sure the OS and phone ROM version matches against it's version, which meant I'm not suppose to be able to upgrade due to the different ROM version. However, I found an online tutorial which showed me how I can use a hex editor to change the ROM version in the upgrader to match with the phone's version.
http://www.pocketpt.net/forum/lofiversion/index.php?t26390.html
I got pass the version check and the ROM started uploading but failed at uploading the "Phone Image" a.k.a 3rd upload. I soft rest the handset and it was showing WM6.1 with the new ROM version but the Phone version was still the original version (i780DTHD1) .
I then proceeded to use the unmodified upgraded which will now match against my OS version and the upgrade completed successfully with both OS and phone ROM versions now showing i780PDXIB1 .
Everything runs smoothly (quicker actually). My problem started when I tried to access Windows Live, Live Messenger and even Hotmail. I am unable to connect to any of these services. Hotmail on Pocket IE and Opera 9.5 just gives me a black white screen, while Windows Live and Messenger says there is a connectivity issue. I can browse other sites using PIE and Opera just not Hotmail and Live services. I was able to access these services when in WM6 and I noticed that Live and Hotmail services always connect using GPRS even though I am connected to wifi.
According to Microsoft Mobile FAQ http://mobile.microsoft.com/live/En...&sid=da8e298231e845e1dbc1fcea1df83430e6c29ce0, the connection profile called "The Internet" must be configured with my provider's settings. I checked my connection settings and could not find that connection. But when I try to add a new connection called "The Internet", I get an error message "Connection settings already exist with that name". But I'm pretty sure there is no such connection. I looked for it in the registry (PHM Registry) and only found one entry for "The Internet" under HKLM/Comm/ConnMgr/Destinations/ which contains the following:
Name > Data
DestId > {436EF.......}
ReadOnly > 0 (00000000)
Secure > 0 (00000000)
I deleted that entry (after full registry backup) and soft reset the device. I am now able to add a new connection called "The Internet" but the problem still exists. What I also notice is the drop down box for "My network card connects to:" for my Wi-Fi adapter is blank. Before the registry edit, I am able to select either "The Internet or "Work" connection. Without any success I restored the registry backup and now everything is back to previous state.
To summarize the problem:
Unable to edit or add "The Internet" connection after upgrading to WM6.1 Pro. I get an error message "Connection settings already exist with that name". But unable to find it in Connections.
Missing connection is causing Windows Live and Messenger services not to work.
Hotmail.com and Live.com shows a blank screen while other websites load ok i.e. Google
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.
Regards,
Daniel
I manage to find a solution to this problem at the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409645
There is a file called MSNWiFiFix.zip which contains a .provxml file. I used a text editor to inspect the file and what it contains is the following:
=====================================
<wap-provisioningdoc>
<characteristic type="Registry">
<characteristic type="HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations\My Internet" translation="filesystem">
<parm name="Secure" datatype="integer" value="0"/>
<parm name="DestId" datatype="string" value="{B157AC6A-DA25-46B3-8E55-1F2923F1E72B}"/>
</characteristic>
</characteristic>
</wap-provisioningdoc>
=====================================
What I did was go to the "The Internet" registry path "HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations\The Internet" and entered the "DestId" string from above.
When I soft reset my device, I now have "The Internet" connection setting in My Connections
I then added my Telco's (Telstra) gprs connection and Windows Live and MSN Messenger is now able to connect.
Resolved
DO NOT USE previous method.
Further testing resulted in other connection profiles to STOP working. ONLY MSN services can connect to the internet via "The Internet" connection profile. No other internet sites worked on PIE or OPERA.
So I dug further into this "MSNWiFiFix" and decided to try load the default configuration into the device.
After a soft reset, I configured my device with the following:
1. Configured Telstra WAP (telstra.wap) connection in "My Work Network" with proxy settings 10.1.1.181
2. Telstra Internet (telstra.internet) connection in "My Internet" (added by MSNWiFiFix) connection without proxy settings.
Results= IT WORKED!!! Both Live service and internet browsing works!
When I access BigPond mobile portal, it connects via Telstra WAP. When I sign in to Windows Live service, it connects via Telstra Internet. Unfortunately I can't have both running at the same time but atleast now I can check my Hotmail and have push email configured.
Windows Live & Hotmail.com Connection Problem on my I780
1) Always show connection problem with Windows Live logon with 3G or Wifi.
2) Encounter Blank page through IE connecting to www.hotmail.com
Other websites or appications are connecting fine with 3G or Wifi. Anyone can help with these issues? Or it is common problem or bugs on I780?
I fixed this problem
I have fixed this problem for my own phone.
I created a .cab with the XML in the post above. As soon as I run the .cab (attached) I can connect to Live services.
However, like the original poster it broke my normal internet connectivity for non-Live apps. I easily fixed this by correcting the settings.
Now everything works!

Yes it does, I followed the steps posted here & got INTEROP-UNLOCK in after the HTC Driver Update...
anyone here has the actual registry i need to change to interop-unlock after mango final update and my LG update?
i used the MFG unlock method, which worked on the mango beta.. but how do i do so on mango? on nodo, post nodo, mango beta.. this method works fine.. but doesnt work on mango final.
here is how i edit the registry via 'MFG menu'
1. Open the MFG app and use the password to open it. If you don't know it's (appmfg#*#)
2. Go to Engineer Menu -> Other Settings -> Edit Registry
3. Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
4. Set your input path to "\Comm\Security\LVMod"
5. Set your input key to "DeveloperUnlockState" and set to DWORD
6. Hit Query. Output result should return a "0". If it does continue.
7. Set your input data box to "1" and hit SET. Output result should be 1
keep your phone unlocked and prevent Zune from re-locking it.
1. Open the MFG app and use the password to open it. If you don't know it's (appmfg#*#)
2. Go to Engineer Menu -> Other Settings -> Edit Registry
3. Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
4. Set your input path to "\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg"
5. Set your input key to "PortalUrlProd" and set to DWORD
6. Hit Query. Output result should return data. If it does continue.
7. Keep your input data box empty and hit SET. Output result should be 0
8. Keep this screen open and continue to Part 2
NEXT
1. Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
2. Set your input path to "\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg"
3. Set your input key to "PortalUrlInt" and set to DWORD
4. Hit Query. Output result should return data. If it does continue.
5. Keep your input data box empty and hit SET. Output result should be 0
6. Backout to the password screen and shutdown the phone via powerbutton.
7. Reboot and sync. Your phone should stay unlocked.

Code:
15. Set your input path to "\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg\Install"
16. Set your input key to "MaxUnsignedApp" and set to DWORD.
17. Clear the input data box and hit "SET".
18. The output should be 0.
19. Now enter "2147483647" in the inputbox and tap "SET".
20. Output result should be "2147483647".
btw. This thread is for HTC devices not LG.

I did some searching and found this:
Using "APN Backup & Restore," which is free on the market, you need to backup your APN file. Name it "APN-Broken.xml". Connect your phone to your computer as "disk drive" and using notepad correct the code to match what is shown below or just cut and paste.
FIXED Code:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes' ?>
<apns count="1">
<apn name="Production" numeric="00000" mcc="000" mnc="00" apn="1" user="null" server="null" password="null" proxy="null" port="null" mmsproxy="null" mmsport="null" mmsprotocol="2.0" mmsc="http://mms.sprintpcs.com" type="mms" />
</apns>
Save your changes as "APN-Fixed" and make SURE it is saved as a .xml. Using APN Baqckup & Restore again, restore your new APN. Perform a soft reboot and you should be back in business. Let me know if this helps. This was from back in the EVO days so do a nand first and then take a look at the APN file and go from there.
Trying to set up HTC One M8 (Verizon) with my corporate ActiveSync account and having a miserable time.
1. I go to Settings-> Accounts & Sync -> + -> "Exchange ActiveSync" -> Manual Setup

4. I type a name of my ActiveSync account and click "Finish Setup". This is when I typically get a prompt that I need to allow this device to be controlled by ActiveSync policy, etc (on other devices).
5. I get an error "Failed to create the account. Please try again later" (see Screen 4).

* I have a Nexus 10 tablet running 4.4.3, an Asus P1801 tablet running 4.2.1 and a Moto X phone running 4.4.2 - all devices work perfectly with the same settings/credentials.
* We have both Exchange 2013 and Exchange 2007 servers and I tried using an account on both - getting the same error.
* Our default Exchange policy requires device encryption, but I created several test policies that do not require either passwords or encryption - getting the same error.
* Our ActiveSync policies allow non-provisionable devices.
* I am using client certificates (issued by a private corporate CA) for ActiveSync authentication.
I tried to call Verizon and HTC - both support organizations are clueless. I cant even see email debug logs on the device because HTC's proprietary email client does support enabling debugging (via using [email protected] username).
Please help. I really like this phone, but without ActiveSync email support its as good as a doorstop to me, so I will have to return it.

This makes sense because my ActiveDirectory domain name is different.
Hi,
I've updated my firmware today to enable the new HTC software, the mail app has been updated to 8.1.810518 and you can now proceed past this error.
It warns you that policies will need to be applied to the Exchange server, however I had this working on my HTC One M7, I'm an Exchange Domain Admin and I can now bin off that bloody aweful Airwatch client
