Hi!
I'm working on a wallpaper changer program what's change the today's and/or the Sense's wallpaper in a specified time (10-720 mins). But when the device goes to sleep (suspend) mode, the program goes to sleep as well and does not change the background. How can I tell the WM to wake up in the specified time and let the program to change the wallpaper and then goes to sleep again?
I googled a lot, but can't found a proper solution. I found unattended mode, and many other stuffs, but those are not good for me. I need a notification-like event what happens like alarm and I can detect it in the program, change the wallpaper and let the WM sleep again.
I'm writing the app in VB (VS2008) with NETCF 3.5, but I can understand C# codes too and I can convert it to my own use.
Thanx for help, if I get any!

Did you try runappattime, i am using these function in my apps to wake up the device and run the app so there is no need to keep the application running in the background.
If you want i can share my custom c# dll which i use to do all my scheduling thing.

That's a good idea. I'll happy to your dll. I'm using pinvoke all the time anyway in VB.

Hi XDA Community,
Has anyone heard of a program that can change the wallpaper automatically on our windows mobile devices? For example you could set the time interval for the wallpaper to change every 15 minutes,hr, day. The program would randomly generate a wallpaper for these time intervals. Looking for something similar to webshots but for PPC.
All the best to everyone!
UPDATE: I did some searching on the web. Go to this link for more information on how to change wallpaper automatically on your Blackstone. It uses Mort Script and limitation is 23 images. No ability to change time intervals.
http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Wallpapers/AutomaticWallpaperChanger-69380.shtml
UPDATE #2: Thank you to bugsykoosh for bring to our attention a program developed by kevinv2u. It was originally made for the diamond, but I decided to post here because it is such a delightful application which is way better than the MortScript version. Gives interval options and unlimited pictures. It does work on the HTC Touch HD!
this doesn't require mortscript so it may be easier and I presume it''ll work on the HD without a problem: http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=1548

I like the new notification manager from the new roms but is there a way to let it automatically popup if a new notification added?
Or let it automatically open if I turn on my device?
At this time I do this with mortscript but its not comfortable.
it would be nice if that is possible, but i dont think so.
could you please post your mortscript, i'm intersetd in it

It is very short:
WaitForActive ("Start",60)
MouseClick (240,10)
ok, thats short
but it only launches when you run the startmenu? or wich windows is called start?
maybe you should leave it running in the background looping

No I add this script to the notification queue (you can do this with memmaid or Taskmanager v3.1) and it will start after the device woke up.
I found the windows class for the notification it is NtfManagerDlgClass.
But it has no window name so I cant use it correct with mortscript cause mortscript only handle window names.
yes i know i have the same problems with mortscript.
i use it for a lot of things. at the moment i use it with g-trigger in order to start my bluetoothconnection and launch mortplayer with just a shake.
the problem is, the htc comm manager has no window name and it cant be safely controlled or closed by mortscript. still searching for a solution to this.
there must be a way to get a processid or something like this..
Hi there,
I'm new to HTC and navigon. I have installed MN7 but cant rotate it to landscape mode. I have trawled this site.
I have installed the files supplied on this site, have tried gsen and gyrator etc but no luck. Could someone please advise me? Is is possible?
Many thanks.
James
You have to turn the screen into landscape mode already before you start MN7, which means there has to be some content already displayed in landscape when starting mn7. You can't change the orientation whilst mn7 is running.

I've attached 2 mortscripts which will shut down TF3D and allign your screen in the right position. The Navigonh.mscr is for the horizontal version obviously. Shutting down the TF3D gives a much smooter experience in Navigon. After closing Navigon the script will restart TF3D again. It also aplies a tweak to your GPS receiver to ensure a steady datastream to Navigon. Basically a must have for everyone using Navigon.
sidenote: I advise a soft reset between each use of the script. I've experienced on several ROM's that the script will not work properly when executed a second time. Don't ask me why, I've been to lazy to look in to that.
Although technically it is not needed to rotate your device into horizontal position before you execute the script, I can tell you from personal experience that it is best to do so.
Credits for this script are not for me. I pulled them from some tread, but I forgot the name of the author. Kudo's for him!
Hi there,
Thanks for your help, much appreciated. However, where do I add these files?
Couldn't see them in my storage card?
I might be a little thick here.
Thanks
James
Navicon 7 trial
I am using HTC Touch HD and can not get landscape mode, have downloaded the zip file but where do i put them. Your help would be very much appreciated.
The scripts need MortScript, so go there http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=page&entry=ms_overview&action=view&menu=29.
Here's a short description from the developper :
MortScript interprets a (quite) simple batch language. If you know .bat files in DOS or shell scripts: it's something like that. Its focus is to remote control or launch other applications, not to write real applications. I.e., you can't do complex dialogs or graphics with it.
It's more an hacker tool without a nifty interface, you have to write your scripts with any text editor.
For beginners, this might be a bit too complicated. However, it's still far more easy to use than e.g. C++.
Download MortScript v4.2 or v4.3b11 (b is for beta).
For example, download v4.3b11 and after unzipping the files, go to the cab folder and copy MortScript-4.3b11-PPC.cab (PocketPC version) to your HD.
Rotate your screen, as advised by Maarten, then click on Navigon.mscr.
Its function is to toggle TF3D and run MobileNavigator.
The differences between the 2 Navigon scripts are :
Code:
[U]Navigon.mscr[/U]
# Rotate(90)
[...]
# Rotate(0)
Code:
[U]Navigonh.mscr[/U]
Rotate(90)
[...]
Rotate(0)
If I'm not mistaken, the rotation is inactive in the first script because of the # used for comment.
I've just tried the first script after rotating my screen. I confirm that Navigon was on landscape mode. As I'm at home, I just launched the navigation and heard the first directions in TTS. All the screens (splash screen, favorites, 3D,...) were in landscape.
I'll test it on the road.
Hi I installed the mortscript on my HD I've run the script and all that happens is my TF3D disappears and where the start button is shows the title navigon navigator and thats it. nothing else happens. Any ideas?

Navigon should display its main menu after the title page.
Without running the script, does Navigon MN 7 functions correctly in portrait mode ?

Hi yes it works normally in portrait. Landscape even if not using the script still doesn nothing. in NRG rom 28 oct 2009 release it seems to drain all cpu power and freezes. Any ideas
browse to your navigon folder, open navloader.cfg with pword.exe there you can change the screen settings.
use RotateSCR and change it from 0 to 1
Do images rotate on turning the device without opening the keyboard? like on HD or Diamond? Because in my TP2, images do not rotate on turning the device as it is supposed to due to g-sensor .... isn't it? Does it have to be activated somehow or is it not possible in TP2 ... which will be strange.

by default rotation with gyro does not work on Rhodium.
You can use gyrator2 if you wish to enable this functionality.
Cheers,
Beasty
I have the same problem. Screen rotates in opera, but not in Album.
same here, and gyrator is not the perfectly program for this... its slow, and it isn't integrated with WM after install. its just a stand-alone app what runs as the same way as other programs (you can also close it by taskmanager).
Also taksmanager doenst close programs by clicking [X] ?? (even when i select it)...
Attached regisry that will enable a lot of programs in G-sensor.
You also can edit by notepad to remove program that you are not like.
Well found! Very Handy
Thanks

I understand this works great. few questions:
Doesn't it slow the device?
What programs do you suggest to be rotating without the screen sliding out and what programs do you think shouldn't flip to landscape because it gets annoying?

The same question could be applied to many things HTC have done with the Rom on the Rhodium.
At the end of the day, do what we do best here, add the functionality that you want, then fix any problems that occur afterwards.
I haven't noticed any adverse affects using gyrator, as yet anyway.
Cheers,
Beasty
does anybody by any chance have the window class of sygic mobile drive (previously mcguider)??

how do you add this file to the reg for us newbs please
thanks for any help
Doesn't it automatically display the picture at the maximum size? Meaning if it is a landscape picture it displays it in landscape and if it is a portrait picture it displays it in portrait? I actually prefer the way it is done in the new album which I am running on my FUZE.

Could someone help me out with the TomTom reg key? I get the modulename bit right, just point it to tomtomnavigator.exe. Don't really understand the whitelist key. What should the value be for Tomtom?
Thanks.
EDIT: Just found it in the topaz section. For anyone wlse who needs to know, it is "MunichWinClass" for some reason. Thanks to infoman68 for that.
Awsome thread I downloaded and installed the gyrator2, but I cannot figure out what plugin/program to grab from microsoft to install that dotnet 3.5 on the phone to get gyrator to work. can someone please point me to the correct file?
thanks.
to anyone else wishing to add an app to HTCs GSensor list in the reg and not knowing the window title or class...
download Gyrator2, install and run. Add a new event. Choose learn. Take stylus out. Make active the window you need the name of. Insert stylus. There! Gyrator has just told ya what ya need to know... Uninstall gyrator and add what it told ya to the reg...
nice post dude...
i am still trying to get the gyrator to work on my pro2.
did you also have issues with the dotnet thing?
Hello, brilliant suggestion from bigjezza. Myself I'm trying to get Microsoft Reader to react to my phone's gyrations. However when I bring up Gyrator 2 the MS Reader app is not listed. Actually it never came up in my program-list in the first place even though it did install and runs perfectly. Had to stick a shortcut in the Windows/Start-menu.
Any suggestion on how to get MsReader onto Garator's list, or does anyone know what the relevant data is for MsReader just like that?
Many thanks/McHan

I did install the .reg, then looked my self the new strings in the registry and everything looked OK, but the images on Album still do not respond to device rotation... Any other solution? Or it is need to activate or deactivate something else?
