No Connection when Screen off. - Desire General

Hello,
i have readed a much and i dont find another one who have this anoying error:
Every time i go into sleep by pressing the power button all my data connection is lost ...... only wlan is working, for example when i take a call and the phone comes to my ear and the screen turns off because of the proximity sensor the connection lost and the call end -.-
How to solve this problem?
Im am waiting for a RUU with Hboot 0.80 from 02 Germany to send it back to o2, because my phone is bricked -.- the only things that are not working is this error and the usb connectivity........
I flashed the testimage of the Modaco Root process so i dont have superuser.apk but root acess .... EVERY app has root acess now... this is ****ing fail...!!
Hope u understand me and help me.

Did you install Juicedefender or something?

No only a few apps because i have no apps2sd.... i testet it without apps, too.

Same problem here.
When the display turns off , soon after WLAN is disabled. Happens with Sipdroid, last.fm musicplayer and FritzFon App. This is inconvenient since i cant make calls over VoIP because when the proximity sensor turns the screen off the wlan connection is lost and the call ends.

Have you checked the WiFi sleep policy?
When you are in the WiFI settings menu, press the Menu button again and then select "Advanced". You can then change the WiFi sleep policy to "Never".
Regards,
Dave

Yes it was at never and i switsched to both other aviable things and nothing changed ....-.-

No answer´s? =(

I've the same problem. If I'm downloading an app from market and then I switch off the display the download remains freezed.
The advanced wifi option is set to "never"

No my wifi connection dont lost all the others !?

Wifi Power Saving

Afternoon all,
I`ve been using the sip client in WM6 thanks to you guys but have a slight problem.
Everytime the screen turns off so does the wifi, which looses connection, therefore incoming SIP calls dont get picked up. Anyone know how to disable this? i cant see a setting anywhere so i assume its a registry setting?
Cheers Andy
I dont think there is a way to make wifi act that way. U could set power settings to never turn off and just turn off screen, but tht would mean RIP battery in no time i suppose. Am i wrong?

Problems: Wifi keeps turning on and off when screen is off

Hey there,
I'm using S-off and oxygen 2.2 on my rooted desire and I have a big problem:
Always when I press the power button so that the screen goes off and than turn it on again by pressing it again after some time (20 secs or so) I see that wlan is turned off and the cellular data connection is used. Shortly after the screen went on, WLAN is on again. Is this some default behaviour to save battery? Is wlan really more battery comsuming than the providers data connection?
The problem which arises now is: I'm using http://www.appbrain.com/app/unlock-at-home-using-wifi/com.accedo.unlockathome which unlocks in a certain wifi and locks, when going out of whitelisted wifi networks. When I press power to turn off the screen and the wlan is disconnected after some short time, the screen gets locked and somehow I think that the screen gets on shortly after this. This causes the wifi to connect again and than after turning off again the wifi gets disconnected again. Thus after the lock applications locks the screen and thus shows it again... -> infinite loop. every now and than (i think about once a minute) I see the screen go on and quickly after it off again.
how to fix that?
Do you have something like Juice Defender installed?
Check the sleep policy.
Swyped from Oxygen with Transparent XDA App
Set wifi sleep policy to never, under wifi advanced settings.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App

Nope i havent!
@k3lcior: strangely it's already set to never and though I often see the cellular data icon appear also when I use the phone (e.g. when writing an sms) and directly disappear again there's to be a problem I think with something on my phone!?

[Q] Where do I find WIFI sleep policy settings?

On ICS, where can I find the settings for Wifi sleep policy etc? My Wifi keeps turning itself off after a time, and Im trying to get the the bottom of it, but cant find where those settings would be. They certainly arent where they have been for previous Android versions...
Go to Wifi Networks, click menu bottom on bottom right > advanced.
Even though mine is set to always stay on, it regularly turns itself off. Every morning, I've lost quite a lot of battery and I have no connection. Within a few seconds of the screen coming back on, it will reconnect.
Is this just me? (Android Revolution HD 2.1.2)
Its not working for me. No matter what setting I put wifi on it turns itself off when out of range for a certain period of time (about thirty minutes I think). Driving me insane.
Mine's only a couple of meter's from the access point, still turns itself off...
The same for me. Not 30 minutes but immediately.
For example the notofications appear only if I unlock the screen.
In wifi setting is on "keep always"
Example: i receive a whatsapp, email or facebook notification only when unlock the screen. Is normal?
With data connection all work fine.
I'm glad to know it's not just me. At least that means hopefully there is a fix coming at some point...

same here anyone an idea? sucks hard..
I figured my problem, traced it back to the Vodafone app, it was causing wifi to crash. Once i removed it it works perfectly. The problem stemmed from the vodadone app constantly trying ro find free wifu points to.automatically connect to.

[Q] Wifi staying on when screen turns off.

HI forumers
can you suggest any help?
When I have my device screen turned off, my wifi stays connected. So in the middle of the night, emails will sting "ping" out a sound.
I have selected in the settings to turn off Wifi when in sleep, and when i close my case cover, but it just doesnt.. Any ideas?
Thanks
Yeah that doesnt work for me either. I would try setting a wifi timer in wifi, adavanced settings and pick a time where you want wifi to be on during certain times of the day. Hope this helps!
Really?! not just me then? I was wondering if maybe a downloaded app is making this error happen.
Can anyone confirm that it does work for them?
Guys, Have you tried to untick "always autorized localisation search" in the advanced parameter of the wifi ?
Hope it could help.
Good idea, but I've just tried this and it didnt fix the problem..
Anyone else?
Or maybe someone knows an app that can do this?
