sunno U6 ?? - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Does ANYONE have a rom to upgrade the winmo 6.1 on this phone to 6.5??? PLEASEEEEEE say yes....
I found this somewhere.....don't remember where and it is all I found for sunno u6......but no listed roms to dl anywhere so this info is largely useless then?
In this article we will examine how to install ROM on Sunno U6.
1. Make a backup or copy the important information that is in the smartphone memory. Please note that the information in the phone memory is automatically deleted after installation of a new ROM version.
2. Check the battery status because when starting the ROM installation, the power supply must not be interrupted.
3. Remove the TF Card from your smartphone and format it by using a computer. The TF Card must be formatted with FAT16 file system. For Window XP/Vista do the following: Start/Run/cmd and type FORMAT E*: /FS:FAT16
Attention !!!
Save the data from your TF Card because they will be automatically deleted during formatting. E* is the letter of the decice /the TF Card/ which must be 2GB minimum.
4. Copy the ROM file that you'll install on your TF Card.
5. Turn off your smartphone /Shut Down/
6. Press and hold the VOLUME UP + CAMERA + POWER button simultaneously.
7. The ROM installation takes up to 5 miutes. When this process has finished, restart your smartphone.

XDAtool is recognizing the SD card as 23.35 MB instead of 32

Folks,
I am new to the group.I have XDA which konked off during upgrade to 2003 from 2002 PocketPC version.I am following the below listed AT&T support procedure to recover.
When I try to copy the os image using XDA os image tool, it is coming with an error saying "Target device is too small to hold os image".
But when I see the size of the image in Windows explorer it is listing it as 30.2 MB [31,764,992].But when I see the size of an image of NK.nbf file it is 32,505,888.
Can somebody help me?Thanks in advance.
Cheers

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ATT procedure to recover XDA
Fix
Pre-requisites:
A blank 32 megabyte SD (secure data) card.
A SD card reader.
Hard reset the SX56 and press the Power button.
A color screen stating "Wallaby Boot" will appear with the version number. A check of the GSM service will be run.
Download the XDA (the other name for our phone) OS Image Tool, at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/XDAtools.
Plug in the SD Card Reader with the SD Card inserted in it to the PC.
Once download, open "XDA Tools XDA OS Image Tool" from the Start Menu.
Do NOT use the fix broken boot loader option from the sub folder.
In the Source pull down (the top section) click the "..." next to the pull down and go to C:\Program Files\SX56 upgrade utility\english\NK.nbf
This is the location of the Windows Mobile 2003 Operating System Image that was installed when it was downloaded and ran the initial upgrade process.
In the "Destination" pull down, select the SD Card Reader.
Click the Copy button.
Once the procedure is complete in Image Tool Program, disconnect the SD Card Reader and remove the SD Card.
The SX56 should still be at the Boot loader page, if not hard reset the SX56 again and press the Power button to bring it back to the boot loader screen.
Hold the Power button and use the stylus to press in the soft reset button (both at the same time).
This will bring up a 'Copy Image from SD to ROM' selection.
Select "To copy from SD to ROM", (this will take a few minutes).
Once the upload completes, soft reset the device.
Verify the version number of the device.
Either from the device menu:
ROM Version A.30.09 ENG
ROM Date 01/01/04
Radio Version A.33.02
Protocol Version 1.3.3
Or from the inital boot up screen:
G1.3.3
A.30.09
RA.33.02
If problems persist, please contact Siemens at 888-777-0211.

The ~8MB difference is the File Allocation Table (FAT) stored on the card. You will need to get a 64MB SD card to store that file on.
it is not the FAT, it is a bug in the memory card driver, that it reports incorrect values for the diskgeometry, as reported by the IOCTL_DISK_GETINFO function.
see this page.
I should maybe use a different function to get the disk size, like GetDiskFreeSpaceEx or IOCTL_DISK_GET_LENGTH_INFO ( I have not tried those to see if they give more accurate values )

already flashed my device to a cusom rom .... forgo the name "shame over me" ... but it was a 1.93 build.... im using Unsigned-Hard-Spl-OliNex...

when flashing...
u need to save the file as diamimg.nbh on internal storage...
after boot up

the 'action'/circle button will take you to the usb bootloader... which i think is what you're doing? not really clear by what you've wrote...
Hi,
I'm also trying to flash using the internal storage method. So far I have the same problem.
I installed the HardSpl
I renamed the .nbh file from the rom into Diamimg.nbh and put it in the root directory for the internal storage.
Then, I try to start the upgrade process with vol down+back+soft reset but when rebooting, it's written No Image found and then
trigger usb host
retry enter usb..
What did I do wrong?

nothing you did wrong but try this:
- Clean your root "internal storage" and has only the rom file, diamimg.nbh
and
- the name of the file in upper cases: DIAMIMG.NBH
Eg: what i have in my internal storage:
- A lot of folders
- DIAMIMG.NBH
- WMPInfo.xml
- ttnavigator.bif
that's all and it works as it did not work before... where I have alot of junk files
Ok, thank you.
When do you release the volume and back buttons?
Hold all 3 buttons in till the TRI-COLOUR screen appears, then let go of all 3 = it'll come up found image & start loading your new rom
Thx.
It seems that I had a too old HardSpl (1.4 instead of 1.93)

I released the reset only until the tri-color screen...
Simple steps would be
1. Make sure your device is already HardSPL
2. transfer the file DIAMIMG.nbh to Internal Storage
3. Press and Hold both Vol Down + Back Buttontogether, then press Reset. Keep holding Vol Down + Back Button until u see options come up.
Had the same problems as discribed, my solution was to format the internal storage using your device (and then follow the steps above). Afterwards everything works well
Greetings
how do you copy DIAMIMG.nbh to Internal Storage if the pda dont turns on?
also from where you get DIAMIMG.nbh? thanks.

It's been a while since you wrote your post but here's some explanation:
You can access the internal storage from your device under the root of your diamond file system:
/Internal Storage/...
You can also access the internal storage when you connect the diamond to your PC...
When you connect the phone ActiveSync will ask you how you want to connect to PC:
1) ActiveSync -> synchronize with your PC sync manager (sync outlook, etc.)
2) Internal Storage -> Access Internal Storage as a removable memory device... You can access your memory from the PC's file explorer.
Hope this can Help!
I have the same problem here!

Can't Flash X51V ROM (SD Image)

OK. Have a Dell X51V. Tyring to download some of the updated ROMs. I've downloaded a couple ROMs but can't seem to load them. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. This ois what I'm doing:
Download ROM
Unzip to folder
format 512 MB SD card (fat32)
copy zip contents (.nb0 and .crc) to root of SD card
insert SD card into PDA
wireless button + power button + reset
I see the ROM loader screen (SD Image Update A10_G4) but I do not see a list of available ROMs to pick from so I can't load any of them...
Anyone have an idea?
| have exactly the same problem. Can anyone help please?
Sounds like you're doing everything correctly. All I can suggest is to try using another SD Card (but stay away from SDHC - they won't work).

Your WM6 flash.bin file damaged.
Try to download it again as fresh WM6 Rar file and extraxt directly to the memory card and try to flash again through sd card. Please sure 100% charge in ur imate JAMA battery.
Dont try this through DNW software.
For this procedure please use 1GB sd card, 2GB sd card may be not work.
Exract WM6 Rar file to sd card by card reader.

Try your best...

Flashing back to windows mobile from android

Is as simple as following these steps, correct? I just want to make sure i'm not missing anything.
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the Rhodium Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to RHODIMG.nbh
4. Copy the RHODIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
Just flash any WinMo ROM as you would flash any WinMo ROM. You can feel free to flash WinMo via USB or SD, either method works.
You only are forced to flash via SD when going to LK/Android. For whatever reason, we never could figure out how to get it to work via USB.
Yes. If you follow those instructions you will get whatever rom is on your SD card loaded to the phone.
