Hi all,
I have been googling around, both on XDA and beyond, and have found no solution to this problem so far..
When I send mail using my exchange account, the mail is sent as it should, hovewer a message pops up "The message have been saved successfully".
What happens, is that my phone, together with sending the message, saves it in the DRAFTS folder. My recipient receives the e-mail as usual, but if I go to my DRAFTS folder, I can see a copy of my sent message there.
Strange enough, if I open this "draft" and then press SEND - the message is sent (again, so that the recipient receives a copy of the first message) but then I can no longer see this mail in DRAFTS folder.
Anyone with a similar problem?
Cheers..
Yep same here.

Hello all, have looked but couldn't find any posts about this problem (although I recall reading about this problem some time ago) so please, apologies if this duplicates previous posts.
I have checked the box to keep mail sent in the sent mail folder and am using the pocket outlook application supplied with the BA.
Am using an IMAP email account to send and receive email and have confirmed emails are being sent no problem (sent one to my work email and see it hitting my in box), mail is being received by the BA no problem as well.
The problem is when I send an email it isn't keeping a copy of it in the folder called "Sent Items", this goes the same for my SMS messages :x
I am using GPRS to send the emails at the moment but I guess this shouldn't make any difference.
Am i missing something here or have to reset for changes to take place or something??????
Your guidance is apprecaited.
copy send items
Go to tools - Options in messaging and tick the box keep copy of send mail in send folder ans your problems is solved i think
Sometimes for work I get a text message from a mailing list when a server goes down. For some reason I am unable to send a text reply to the email. Is this something I have to do something special for? I have always been able to do it on my old phones (non windows mobile).
that's a carrier feature. You'll have to call them. Probably the old phones were configured for your carrier.

can we be more specific? I'm having a hard time following you.
You get a SMS message from work? or an email?
is it sent to the SMS address on your phone or as an email?
When you reply, are you sending a SMS or an Email? what is the address type that you are replying to?
The devil is in the details....
When the mailing list sends out the messages it sends it to something like my phone number @txt.att.net however when I go to reply with a text message (sms) to the email address that the message was sent from it gives me an error saying "The text message account cannot be used to send email messages"

ok... you are using the email to SMS gateway.
you cannot text message to an email address from your phone.
You can MMS to an email address, try it that way
HOWEVER, if the sms you receive has sending address of a bunch of numbers, it can reply back to the original sender using the sms to email gateway that AT&T (or others) provides.. just reply.. do not change the address.
AT&T is my carrier and I send SMS to email addresses everyday. The email recepient sends their email to me and it shows up in SMS format. When I flashed to a Schaps Rom, I could not do it anymore, so I flashed to another rom (k's 1.30b) and it works just fine. It's a pretty handy feature to have. I am not sure if it is a carrier feature, but I do know not all roms let you do it.
That must be what it is. I am using the TNT rom. I will try another.
Try this one

Hi guys,
I have noticed a strange thing with Exchange mail app. When I send my e-mail it does send it but, however, saves the message as a draft as well. After some time my DRAFTS folder is becoming a copy of my SENT ITEMS which is a bit annoying. Does anyone experience the same / has any cure for that?
Second "bug" is when I try to reply a facebook notification. Now, when I post a photo on FB and someone leaves a comment ot that, I receive an E-Mail notification like "John has commented on your photo...", and in the message body it says: REPLY TO THIS E-MAIL TO ANSWER THE COMMENT. It has always worked for me using Outlook, webmail, WinMobile-outlook-mail (and it still does) to hit the "Reply" button, type smth thus leaving a comment. However, no comments are left if I try to "reply" on "John's comment" using my Desire.
Any clues?
Using HTC default Exchange mail app.
anyone?...
I guess the two problems may be related. Are the Facebook replies going out through your Exchange account?
To diagnose the first problem, can you see if the Exchange server is logging any errors? Get your system administrator (if it's not you) to check the application event logs, while you're doing a send/receive.
I have the first problem - intermittently any mail I send is also saved to the drafts folder and its a little annoying. Personally I don't believe the second problem is related in any way at all...

I have the first issue when using my office email account. We use Lotus Notes and the interface between the device and the Domino server is Commontime software, using Activesync client on the device.
Commontime advise that this is only an issue with Android 2.1 devices as the outgoing mail is not stamped with a Posteddate field.
I also have a Hotmail account on the Desire, and I do not get the "sent -> drafts" syndrome with that account.
Deleting and re-adding accounts is fixing problems for some people. I would suggest delete, reboot, re-add.
Already tried that but didn't work.

--or, in the case of Lotus, the logs from Commontime.
Sometimes answers or new mails ends up staying in draft.
I've found out that on some e-mail addresses it takes the domain away.
[email protected] becomes [email protected]
On both answers and new ones. And it can be one out of two...
Any ideas?
Im using a deisre on tmobile uk
Im only using google mail, with push and have no pop3 accounts set up.
If I choose a calender entry and try to share it, the phone will ask me how? IE email, text message etc. It wont allow you to send it by email unless its pop3.
I tried sending it via text to another phone, and my phone sent an mms, to a number starting 100.
My operator charged me for the message, but as the number it was sent to was not the contacts phone number it never arrived.
Also, now that I had sent that message, if I went into messages and tried to click on a recent conversation with this person, I could send another normal text message, but it would actually be sent as another picture message and again to the wrong number.
Hope this stops any of you falling fowl of this bug.
Unless any of you want to prove this bug and post below?

Running the stock ICS email app on a stock Verizon Galaxy Nexus.
When I look at my email inbox folder, I see emails sorted top to bottom, by date, and each individual email shows the senders name or email address.
When I look in my sent mail folder, I see emails sorted top to bottom, by date, and each individual email shows my name.
In any other email app, the sent mail shows the name of the person you sent the mail to. It's useless showing my name. I know I sent it. I want to know to whom it was sent.
I can't find any way to change this.
I noticed this as well and I believe it is in hove the app sets up with the POP email settings. If you actually sign into you email account they should all show properly sent in that sent folder. At least I can say hotmail is that way.
Please hit the thanks button if I helped.
It does it on both my corporate Exchange Outlook email and my Yahoo email.
Is this a bug, or is there a setting somewhere I missed?
