As asked in the topic I would like to know if it is possible to convert Telstra ruu to .zip so that you can flash it without worrying about the bootloader issue. Thanks in advance.

just start the exe and go to your temp folder. choose the most recent and you will find rom.zip
@sascha
1. starte die ruu
2. info datei lesen klicken -> word öffnet
3. datei speichern unter
4. bei dateiname *.zip eingeben
5. enter
6. rom.zip rauskopieren
7. iwo hin speichern wo du die wiederfindest
extract zip from RUU.exe on mac
Hello all,
Have spent hours trying to find a me(idiot)-proof way of getting a flashable zip file of the Telstra HTC Desire original rom that would have come standard with my Desire in August 2010 when I bought it.
Have been happily using custom ROMs (but still S-ON as I was too frightened of doing something stupid and/or irreversible to change to s-off) since a few weeks after buying, however have recently (the past month) come across the evil random reboot mid-task problem that seems to be a common fault of Desires. Seems to be when the CPU is very busy - it has happened minimum once a day but often three or four times before I give up on whatever I was trying to do that was clearly pushing it too far (have noticed it so far during using Google Maps, during playing Angry Birds, using Facebook and during internet browsing) and just let it sit and rest. It'll often bootloop for a short time until I take the battery out and give it a minute, or occasionally it behaves itself after the reboot as long as I don't re-challenge it with anything too taxing.
So I'm a bit frustrated by this apparent sudden lack of coping with difficult tasks and I think that with any luck I'm still under my 24 month (extended) warranty: so I'd like to send it back in to Telstra, or HTC, or whoever will listen, to ask if this might be fixable/please can they give me a replacement etc.
I am reluctant to send it in, though, without first unrooting it - as I'm certain they'll try to blame the software which has given me no trouble over the past year and a half...
(Aside: unless of course they are right and it IS in fact me putting naughty software on there that is causing my random reboots?. But I have reset it to factory settings, btw am using most recent Oxygen ROM and most recent radio) and this hasn't fixed the problem.)
Anyway back to exe versus zip:
I have tried following the instructions at mike southby's blog ("openruu-for-linux-and-mac-osx-users" ), but found I had a few troubles. The scripts don't seem to be able to find each other by themselves - I had to open them manually into the Terminal app when they started mentioning each other, then one of them asked for Wine to be installed... so I made a Wineskin (whatever that is) and tried to "install windows software" at which InstallShield pops up and plays games with a loading bar and all, but "no new executables were found" because "maybe the installer failed" ... which was about where my brain imploded and went
"erck".
I'd love to be able to just extract the zip (and then install it through fastboot) from the correct stock RUU (which - I hope - I've managed to find), however I am using a Mac and thus can't run the exe and follow the beautifully illustrated instructions that I've found elsewhere on these boards.
Any advice for someone too useless to run terminal commands properly? Should I perhaps be commandeering a friend's PC for an afternoon?
Thanks and sorry for the trouble,
Sarah
For the Computer noob, it would definitely be best to get a Windows PC. You just run the RUU.exe, go to Start > Run > type "%temp%" and press ok.
Locate a folder with a hexidecimal name (eg 015ab5d8a4) created at the time you run the .exe. Open it and look for a similarly named file. In there is a rom.zip file. Rename it to "PB99IMG.zip".
Once on the root of your sd card, Hboot (not fastboot) should pick this up and ask to install it..
Yep sounds reasonable! Thanks for the clarification: much appreciated.

Hi,
I was updating my o2 xda exec with new rom upgrade when my PC crashed causing upgrade to unexpectadly stop. It is now stuck on a grey screen with the word serial on top and v1.00 down bottom. I have tried hard reset but to no avail. My pc wont recognise it at all now. Any suggestions or will i have to leave in to be fixed
Thanks for any help

This happened to me the first time I flashed my Alpine. Just put the device in the cradle, load up the flashing program on your PC and just start over, it *should* just see the device and carry on fine. It did for me, and I did nothing special except reboot and cross my fingers.
done that but it stops saying problem with country ID error. It is unlocked but is a UK model
Someone else on the forum was experiencing the same problem... To be quite honest, I haven't the foggiest idea as to why this is happening, it never happened on my Alpine but I've had nil experience with the Exec so I can't proffer any tidbits of advice. Sorry :/ (You might want to go browsing the Exec forum though, see if there's any info relating to this problem on there, if you've not already done so of course.)
Hello Billy G
Put ur exec in bootloader mode.Use MaUpgradeNoId.exe to upgrade yr device since u r getting contry id error. The above file can b searched in forum..put it in the same folder where the upgrade files are there.
u will get back yr device alive...
Done that, but get a cant find RUU.dll. No idea how to extract the ROM/Upgrade. Installshield seems to do it automatically. Not exactly a whizz on PC
First of all, you have connection between your device and PC, this is really good.
1. Get flashing program - ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID.zip
2. Get the correct flash for your device. I will repeat - CORRECT flash file for your device. If your will flash with incorrect version, bootloader could be overwritten, than your device is really in a bad shape. Not every service center will be able to recover.
3. Normally rom update/upgrade is .exe file it inclides binaries and flash rom itself. Get winrar. Instead of executing .exe update/upgrade, open it with winrar and extract it to temporary location.
4. In one of the folder will be file ROMUpdateUtility.exe. Replace it with ROMUpdateUtility-No.Vendor.ID
5. Start ROMUpdateUtility-No.Vendor.ID.exe
6. Perform flash.
7. Process may slow down at some stages, don't warry, just be patient.
8. Make sure you understand that downgrade process is not always possible. Other words, if you decide to go back to your previous flash or original flash, you may have problems.
9. Buy UPS.
good flashing
Cheers, managed to get it done. Was afraid i was going to have one expensive brick here :?
Thanks for all the help.

That is a SOUND piece of advice, from one UPS owner to another
Hi, Need some help here....tired of the same whole mix-mash from htc (recycled phones) so going back to basics - htc s620 (wm6) + my just acquired used 4700. Intend to upgrade it to WM6.1, I've been using htc phones so I am used to rom flashing... or so i thought. I downloaded some of the wm6 and 6.1 roms only to find that dont come with an ruu built in. Not a problem I thought, just get a carrier and replace the nbf file. Unfortunately despite an extensive search on brighthand and here and yahoo searches galore i havent been able to find a suitable guide with the necessary utilities to carry out the flash. The "universal bootLoader" no longer seems to be around (404 errors) samething with other Ruu's (from ru websites etc) yet I can still see thru the long 220 - 251 pg threads that people are flashing with something. In the interest of new 4700 owners would it be possible to have a particular "How-to-flash" thread possibly as a sticky? If not at least can someone help me with a how-to guide and any link to the relevant ruu or bootLoader utility for the rom flash.
Thanx all appreciate it.
You can find all the neccessary information on this page; different ROM's, a bootloader, and instructions in PDF format..
Thanks a lot ridolfo. that has helped a great deal. Slight problem that you hopefully know a way around. After downloading the BootLoader.exe rar file, I tried to open it to proceed but it kept on coming up with an error... "windows cannot open the selected path file...you may not have the appropriate permissions to open them" I just cant get past that altough it has apparently opened and expanded showing a whole lot of other files but i cannot basically get past that stage to run the rom nbf file... Any ideas please?
Right sorted!
Very simple but unexpected solution especially since i hadn't seen the issue mentioned elsewhere.
Simply disconnected all connections to the internet especially wifi (for safety/protection etc) and then disabled zone alarm!
Everything went thru as normal, updated and now just waiting for boot-up.
thanx a lot Ridolfo!!!
Alright I'm finally going to throw a post up, go ahead and get all your "use search" "it's on search" "it was in a thread" out of the way now, cause I've gone through 76 thread pages of reading and searches and I can't find an answer that works.
I am continually getting the ERROR 262 in RUU everytime I attempt to use it to flash.
- I am running Vista 64bit (not sure if that is the problem or not)
- Using WMDC 6.1
- I have uninstalled and reinstalled WMDC 6.1 a total of 7 times
- I have used every single USB port on my computer.
- I have restarted a total of 15 times, both the computer and hard resets of the phone.
- I have tried both the Unlocker (I'm not sure if I have to unlock a second time or not after my WM 6.1 update) and just the ROM Update.
- I have tried doing the forced bootloader mode (Power+Camera+Reset) and simply allowing the program to do it on it's own.
Everytime it drops into Bootloader (3 color) mode, it drops Activesync and then obviously errors out because of lost connection. I've tried simply running the program and never unplugging the USB cable, I've also tried unplugging the USB cable when the DOSprompt part of the batch tells me to. Everything I've read says to do this, but I don't remember doing this for the 6.1 WM Update. It also doesn't make sense.... if you unplug the device, it's going to drop activesync everytime....
I've just updated every program, reinstalled everything more then 5 times, done countless resets, tried every USB plug and nothing is working. Hopefully this is something easy I'm just overlooking -- or something easy like "It doesn't work with Vista 64" so I can at least get an answer.
Again, I apologize if this was answered somewhere previously. I genuinely tried for 3 hours using search, on and off XDA, so that I wouldn't have to post a question thread but never found a "fix" that worked.
Thanks in advance.

Try another computer. It does work with Vista 64 (I've done it many times), but there's no point in beating your head against the wall for this. There are so many things that it could be you might as well try another computer so that you at least now it is the computer and not your Vogue.

You phone is not unlocked and you are trying to flash a custom ROM.
Try following the instructions in this thread found about halfway down the first page of the forum.

Be it locked or unlocked is beside the point. As I stated before, I unlocked it once for the WM 6.1 upgrade and being as I wasn't sure if I had to do it again, I attempted to do it again.
Regardless of if it's trying to flash the ROM, or use the Unlocker, the same thing always happens. Windows Mobile Device Center (ActiveSync) drops connection once the phone goes to the Bootloader (3 color screen), and it errors out 262 (Connection Lost).
I have attempted to give as much information as possible so I can get input on if I'm missing a step or if it's simple bugging out. I will try what gt! suggested and attempt this on a different computer. However, from the information I've given can anyone confirm that I'm at least doing the correct steps -- there's just some gremlin popping up keeping me from completing it?
Thanks again.
Flash via SD card. There are instructions in CodyBear's FAQ thread.
From experience...use a blank or backed up card.

CONNECTION DROPS BUT............ it should be installing new drivers.
When i flash my phone on windows 7 it loses connection when it enter bootloader just like you.
And by the time the drivers for the qualcomm chip on my htc touch vogue gets installed (this is the recognized driver when your phone is in bootloader)
the RUU rom updater/installer times out.
After it times out for me i make sure that the driver for the qualcomm chip (the driver that is seen by windows when your phone is in bootloader) is installed, i run the updater again.
Now it should run through smoothly again.
Alternate method:
Flash by ur sd card.
or
Try a different computer.
start it up on serial mode then plug it in to USB, go to device manager make it search for new devices. Driver should start loading and start RRU, if all else fails use the SD CARD for The Flash
Alright, well now I guess a second question looms. I was going to take everyones advice and attempt to flash with the MicroSD Card, but now I'm having problems with that one as well.
Yes it has to be 2GB or less and formatted FAT32
I always find my original 512MB works perfect for flashing from
as to how to get it to your card...
Extract the ROM you want to use
Find the largest *.NBH file and copy it to your desktop
at the desktop rename it to VOGUIMG.NBH (I believe the caps in naming is important)
Copy that file to the root of your formatted FAT32 2GB or less SD Card
enter bootloader mode and it should go from there.

Those are the directions on the FAQ. I have the original 512mb card, formated to FAT32. I went into the Unlocker RAR, found the Voguimg2.nbh, renamed it to VOGUIMG.NBH as instructed in the FAQ. Placed the file on the freshly formatted MicroSD Card, put it in the phone and went to bootloader mode and... nothing.
I attempted putting the card in, then going to Bootloader. I tried going to bootloader, then putting in the card. I tried putting it from USB to Serial and vica versa. Tried hitting all the buttons. Nothing happens, it just hangs out on the 3 Color Screen.
Am I missing something, or am I just cursed to not flash my phone more then once? Heh. Thanks again for all the help.
[EDIT] For clarification, since I don't know if I have to unlock before every flash or not, I'm just attempting to unlock it again and hense only using the Unlocker ROM. It was previously flashed for the 6.1 update, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try the unlocker again so that's been the ROM I've been trying to run currently.

As explained in Cody's FAQ, once your phone is unlocked to flash, it stays unlocked. The only thing you MIGHT want to do other than just flash the new ROM is to flash a stock ROM, then the new ROM.
Go ahead and try putting the VOGUIMG.NBH from the ROM on the card and see what happens. From what I remember, you should have the card in the phone then put it into boot mode. I believe that was what I did for my first flash ever.
What method did you follow when you flashed to 6.1? Has anything changed about what you are doing now?
Also it might be important to know that when flashing via USB on a 64-bit machine the RUU program will give you an error about not working on a 64-bit computer. Just ignore the error and click ok, it will pop up a few times just keep hitting ok and it will work. That error pops up even though it's false.
when i first tried flashing a custom rom, i extracted the downloaded file and when i clicked on the ruu i had the same error... i then tried just running the downloaded file without extraction and it worked fine.
same thing happend 2 me Just run the RUU do not extract files!!!!!!!((-;
Barogi44, JFive1182 -- You are both princes among men.
The Unlocker will only run on the first auto-extract of the file. You cannot run the batch from the extraction folder afterwards, eventhough all it does is auto-extract the contents and then auto-run the batch file.
Out of curiosity... and being infuriated I went and tested this again just to see. On 3 other computers the same thing happened. I have no clue why it would bug out that way... or if it was written that way that's a pretty bad design.
In any case, someone should put that in the FAQ. You have to let it start the process from the auto-decompressing RAR, you can't start it again after the fact by running the batch file from the extracted folder. If it said this anywhere, the 3 guides I read never mentioned that (nore the unlocker's thread at ppcgeeks) so I didn't catch it.
Thanks again for everyone's input, and obviously JFive1182 & Barogi44 for actually letting me know how to make it work!
your welcome

Bump for emphasis. I had the same problem.
Tutorial said this: "Use WinRAR and extract both the files into separate folders,"
ONLY extract the NFSFAN rar.
Would appreciate your help on the following issue (amoled display):
- phone doesnt boot up, it is stuck to a screen showing htc in the middle and 4 small triangles in the corners; if I unplug the pc cable it goes to a RUU menu
- no access to recovery or bootloader menus (by holding power + vol down/back)
- installing stock RUUs dont work; there is a 110 error saying that the RUU is not complete (tried 5-6 RUUs, both 2.1 and 2.2). there is a progress bar on the phone's screen that is normally green, but turns red when the radio is being written (as per the install wizard on the pc) and there is another triangle showing up at the end of the progress bar
- fastboot oem boot restarts the phone, but then it gets stuck to the white screen having htc in the middle (like when you start up the phone and after this quietly brilliant shows under htc, for me it doesnt go beyond this initial point)
- fastboot reboot-bootloader restarts the phone into the same 4triangles screen with htc in the middle
- adb doesnt work as it doesnt show my device
- any power + vol down/back combination brings the phone to the 4triangles screen
- if I run the stock RUU after fastboot oem boot (white screen with htc in the middle) there is a menu showing up on top of the white screen showing up the progress (1-bootloader, 2-radio_v2, 3-radio, then system, recovery, user data, etc.); bootloader is updated ok but then it gets stuck when updating radio_v2 and doesnt move further from that point)
- after the RUU install fails, I plug out the pc cable and see the RUU menu; depending on the RUU that I try to flash the hboot version changes up and even goes down after, but the firmware (what the RUU installer "sees" on the phone) and radio (seen on the RUU menu) remains the same: 1.21.405.1 and 4.06xx; the date on the RUU menu also changes depending on the RUU that I try to flash
Any suggestions to get my desire unbricked?
Bit of a background to the problem:
- rooted (unlockr) and was having Paul's r3 rom (2.1)
- updated the radio to 5.10xx
- got into silly restarts when using gps and thought to reflash a new rom and went for Paul's r8
- restarts were there also when using the phone normally
- thought to re-do all the rooting, wiping out everything from the phone, etc; so having r8 as the rom (pre-baked version) I started the rooting process with creating again the goldcard, etc etc
- error message at some point saying partition update fail (following the steps from theunlockr as I did the first time when rooting) and then the phone got to this triangles screen with htc in the middle
- strange though that this screen is different than the one when I first rooted when there was just one big triangle in the middle
Thanks a ton guys!
I've seen a few posts about this screen with the 4 triangles, but never seen the result of any potential fixes, or if it was ever actually fixed.
Just an idea, but it was maybe a bad radio flash if you are saying it started playing up after that? Unfortunately a bad radio flash is fairly terminal so I hope that's not your problem.
Good luck with this one and if you get it fixed then post the result here if you don't mind!
Will definitely post the solution when found; so far though nobody has any thoughts around what might be the reason behind this problem and how to get around it. I dropped a few PMs to the people that had this problem in the past and contacted Paul at Modaco, but so far no replies...
You can fix this with an RUU, I've had the same issue when I unplugged too early after flashing, but you are asking for help in the wrong section.
thought that the dev's section is where the best knowledge exists...
about the RUU process, I am trying to flash stock RUU.exe files, but there is a problem when the radio is being written and then I get a 110 error from the RUU install wizard saying that the RUU is incomplete.
for you the RUU install worked smoothly?
If you get a write error during an RUU flash (i.e. while the flashing is taking place, not before) it probably means there's a hardware fault.
Could be hardware, but I find it hard to believe as the phone is new and it is network locked, hence I didnt even use it for real, apart from some wifi and gps activities. Besides, the phone worked very well when I first rooted with Paul's r3 and the whole mess with restarts when using gps started after I upgraded the radio to 5.10xx having a 2.1 OS.
I feel that the problem started when I tried to root the phone being on Paul's r8 2.2 OS (tried to root with a 2.1 system and then it got messed up in the process).
I am not saying that it is not hardware as it is a possibility, but still think that it might be a messy software aspect, as if the radio is messed up from a hardware perspective, then at least the system should boot up and then wifi, gps, gsm and the things that are controlled by the radio shouldnt work...but somehow the OS should start-up.
Basically I dont get a write error, it's just that the error comes up when the radio is being written, hence I think that there is something wrong with the radio set-up that I have now on the phone...
Maybe somebody knows how to flash the system from scratch using only fastboot in cmd (having the right zip or img files properly signed), or maybe just the radio to start with.

Well, I thought that as various solutions to root the phone, to get past different restrictions in the OS, etc. were discussed here, it might be a good thing to develop a way to bring back to life a OS being in this situation like mine...come on...

Thanks anyways man, I looked at that already, but cant get it done as I dont have adb commands available in cmd, only fastboot. Dont worry about waisting my time, I really want that these days
I had the same problem. Passed the device in service center. Changed the motherboard under warranty. It took one month's time.
but to get adb you need to download and install android sdk. look here http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html system dependands download.
install it here are instructions on how to use if you aren't familiar with.
http://www.londatiga.net/it/how-to-use-android-adb-command-line-tool/
for anything else just use google.
i'm pretty sure that your device is fixable and you can fix it without any service center. cheers and post what ever happens.

I know how to use adb commands...pretty new to android and everything, but lately I roamed a lot through various things about it and learned a lot.
The problem is that adb doesnt list my phone when I run adb devices, it shows only when I run fastboot devices, I am sure you know what I mean...hence I cannot push any files to the phone, etc., at least not using adb in cmd.
That's actually the problem, that I cannot get adb to work, I only have fastboot commands. At least the way I see it now the question is how can I work with the phone to fix it just by having fastboot access in cmd.
I searched quite a lot various forums, etc, but I never came across a solution that will get things going just by having fastboot in cmd (without adb working). Maybe somebody here will come up with some magic trick...

Thanks!
have a look here mate http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc...9-bricked-my-evo-but-there-away-un-brick.html
same story unfortunately, doesnt apply to my problem. in the link they use a terminal emulator, but I cant use that as it doesnt work...it's basically an alternative to using adb directly in cmd, and this doesnt work for me.
if I am to get adb functionality back, then I'm done with the problem in 5 mins probably...
thanks anyways, keeping the hope alive!
sorry idf i don't underdstand, but if you have fastboot working in your device and sdcard also then you should be able to push files to device via fastboot making as clean installs as possible.so if your device is picked up by command line type fastboot to see command list. i'am a bit comfused. pretty sure you should fix it through fastboot though.

same story unfortunately, doesnt apply to my problem. in the link they use a terminal emulator, but I cant use that as it doesnt work...it's basically an alternative to using adb directly in cmd, and this doesnt work for me.

right, I can run 2 things with fastboot in cmd: (name of the files just an example)
1. fastboot update update.zip
here I get that the archive doesnt contain android-info.txt or android-product.txt
2. fastboot flash update.img
here i get signature verify fail
for example, fastboot erase radio says FAILED, remote: not allowed
there are some fastboot commands related to the kernel and some others, but dont know how to make use of them for my problem.
sd card is accesible for sure and it is a goldcard.
I saw some linux/ubuntu methods to simulate adb usage in cmd, but I dont think it will work...will try to find an ubuntu image and mount it under windows, but dont have time now...
anyways, thanks to everybody for the suggestions and interest, maybe we'll crack it some day
You need to use an official RUU zip image - i.e. a PB99IMG.zip. Not an update.zip.
Hey all,
I own an unlocked ATT Tilt 1 (Kaiser 8925). It is currently running windows mobile which is extremely slow. I have read all over the internet that you can put the Android 2.2 OS on this phone and have seen youtube videos on this topic also.
Ideally I need to be able to buy apps from the android marketplace.
Since I'm not a phone hacker I'd like to find a professional cel phone service company that can do this for me.
I searched extensively on Google and can't seem to find one. So who can do this and what is the normal charge for something like this.
Just trying make my old phone useful in wifi mode.
Any advice would be great.
Regards Henry
I don't think there is a company that provides such a service especially if we take in to account that kaiser/tilt is a 3 year old device and the android port is not official. There are plenty of topics in the forum describing how to replace winmo with Android. You don't have to be a hacker to run Android on your phone. Just read the stickies and you wil be able to flash ityourself in no time
There are phone dealers out there (in the USA anyway), that will do this for a fee on the Kaiser, but trust me, with what has gone into the development of this, almost anyone can do it. Save yourself the money and try it yourself. The worst I've heard about is a mis-flashed phone needing some master reset.
The question is who?
I live here in the Orlando area and have called a number of cel phone companies.
I was treated like King Gidorah Three Headed Space Monster. They didn't have a clue this could be done.

Listen HenrykJR there are about dozens of android builds on this forum + many different versions of two kernels, not all of those will work correctly for you. You might experience different issues with one setup but the other will work correctly for you. So even if there was a company that could flash it for you, you might end up with an unstable device. Also how could a company gain knowledge on flashing android builds to a phone that was originally shipped with windows mobile??? You seem to be looking for Nessy....in woods.
Your best bet now is to find someone in the forums to help you flash your device....maybe even use skype to show you how to do it. It really isn't that hard.
Hehe, i don´t think you´ll find a Company that will do it for you. Maybe you find some guys that do it for Money (me to ). But if you spend a little time with reading through this forum you could do it yourself and save the money.
Preparing:
1.) You need a SD card (mandatory for android on Kaiser). And you need a Google Mail Account for syncing your contacts etc. and access the android market.
2.) You have to "unlock" your Phone (with HSPL/HardSPL). Only after that you are able to flash things (Cusom WinMo ROMs, Radio, Android) to your Kaiser. So read through this guide and follow step 1-4.
3.) Now you have an unlocked phone an you should be able to flash everything. And the first thing you flash should be the latest "radio". The "radio" for Kaiser is similar to the BIOS for your PC. Like the subsystem and responsible for GSM chipset etc... So look & read in this Radio-Thread, download the latest Radio (it is 1.71.09.01) an follow the guide "Flashing Radio from microSD"
4.) Now your Phone is up-to-date and ready for flashing Android (or WinMo custom roms). YOU NEVER HAVE TO DO THE STEPS 1-3 AGAIN! Your Phone is now completely prepared!
Flashing Android:
For Android on Kaiser you always need 2 Parts. The Kernel (this part initialize the hardware so its similar to "driver" on PC) and the Built (the Android OS itself). But Both should work together so you´ll may find in some kernel suggestions in Built-threads because not ever kernel work with every built. For your beginning i whould suggest you some things:
First the kernel:
DZO is the most popular (the father of android on Kaiser) Kernel-Developer for Kaiser. So go to his repository and download "voguimg-240x320-2.6.32-froyo-09-10-10_23.nbh". Because Vouge and kaiser have almost the same hardware we all could use this kernel. But everyone have to modify this kernel to make phone related optimizations. You can do thy by hand (not recommended for you) or with a tool called "Atools". This tool is writthen in "Python" so mac and linux user could use it too. But you need to install Python. But that is all described in the Atools thread. Read through it and follow the guide.
Modifing Kernel:
We will only modify the madatory things. Not more at the moment...
So run Atools, klick on the "folder" Button and load the "voguimg-240x320-2.6.32-froyo-09-10-10_23.nbh".
Device: "Kaiser" should be checked
Resolution: 240x320 should be checked (native resolution of Kaiser display). Everything else will give blurry optic.
Version: "Froyo" should be checked, because we will flash a Froyo built (thats android 2.2). If you want to flash an older built like a Donut one (1.6) you have to modify & flash your kernel again.
Panel Type: Try "auto" or "1" first. But if you have a fuzzy screen or artifacts you have to try out which paneltype fits best for your device. HTC has built in 3 different displays in the Kaiser and the only way to find out which one is builtin is trial & error.
Keymap: Depends on which hardware keyboard layout you have. Here in Germeny i have to use "qwertz".
We leave the other options as they are an klick on the "Disk" button to save our modificated kernel now. it save it as "KAISIMG.nbh".
Now we need the Built:
I suggest "Fat Free Froyo" at the moment. Fast, stable, an looks good. So go to this thread and download "ODEX DOWNLOAD RLS5 ALL LANG-ODEX" on the bottom of the post.
then unzip/unrar this file...
Flashing your first Android:
1.) You should have a fat32 formatted SD card
2.) put the Kernel (the modified KAISIMG.nbh) to the root of SD card
3.) Create a folder named "andboot" on SD card
4.) Put the unzipped file (androidinstall.tar or .tgz) in the folder "andboot"
5.) Remove SIMcard and any cables from phone and put the SD card in your phone. Battery should be 50% carged or more...
6.) go to bootloader-mode (press and hold camera button and powerbutton). the KAISIMG should be loaded and it will show you "press powerbutton to update" or something similar. Do that... Now a progressbar will appear. When it is at 100% wait a few seconds an then pull the battery. Wait 10 seconds an insert it again. Voila! You flashed your first android kernel!
7.) Now we have to install android itself. So Power on the phone. In the moment when you see small white text on black background you have to press and hold the d-pad button. This one in the middle. Now you get in the install menu.
8.) Leave the options "System on nand" and "DATA on nand" as it is. Navigate to "install system" an press dpad. It ask "format system" and "format data". Both "YES". after this procedure you enter the menu again. navigate to "quit".
9.) Yeah! The first Bootup of Android! The first bootup takes longer as the following ones because now the system prepares for bootup and do a lot of optimisations. Even if you enter the lockscreen you should give it 10 minutes time to finish this optimization process in backround.
10.) Finish! You have flashed your first android completely! Now you can play around and make your settings. Remember: You have to sign in to your google account befor you can access the market or syncronize your contacts etc.!
Sounds more complicated as it is. Try it!
And if you´ll dig in deeper in this stuff you have to read here! Especially the Stickies/Refs/Tutorials! We´ve all done that!
have fun!

Brother, You can do it yourself, I can assure you. Regarding any ambiguity, you can contact me through PM. (I can guide you complete on voice over skype / msn). Its a TIDEOUS job but EASY to do since there is no MEANS OF BRICKING your kaiser (unless you flash something else than what u have do to install android).
I am here to help you in this community. And you can do this thing yourself.
Your device is At&t Tilt. The bad thing about installing android is getting a RIGHT kernel that suits your LCD type and enables wifi in the android build u install. (maybe in 1st try, maybe takes almost 10 tries like it happened for me)
