hi i would like to ask 2 questions to see if its possible to do what i want
1. on my iphone it only displays the lock screen for about 5-10 seconds and then the screen goes off by itself if i dont unlock it in time, i would like my desire to do this if possible, i would like my screen set to 30 seconds but got off in about 5 seconds when on lock screen, sorry if this doesn't make any sense
2. keep the screen on permantly for certain apps e.g google maps etc
The lock screen goes off after a set time interval, but I think its longer than 5s, the back light once unlocked can be set to a maximum of 30 mins.

Ok so my One V locks its self before the time its set to timeout. I have the timeout time set at 10 mins but ever 5 or 6 seconds if im not touching the screen it goes black and locks its self. Anyone ever had this problem i don't know what to do about it .
try wiping cache,dalvik-cache in recovery. sounds like bad settings save info. once rebooted, reset timeout to the time you want and see if it resolves the issue.
Subject pretty much sums it up. Not sure what the heck happened but, for some reason everytime my note 8 sleeps the display time out resets to 10 mins. so if I set the display timeout to 15 or 30 seconds and then let my display time out in 15 or 30 seconds it will but when I wake if up the screen will then not turn off until 10 mins has past. if I check display time out in settings/display it shows 10 mins. WTF. I do not have any tasker type apps or display changing/tweaking apps that I know of or battery opto apps etc.. also i have not yet taken the bluetooth fixing update that vzw is insisting to push on my note 8 as I dont want to inhibit my phones ability to potentially get root/bootloader unlock eventually.

I normally use an app called Glimpse, but sadly it seems to have no effect on Miui when it comes to showing notifications on the lock screen.
So I am using the built in screen on function in Miui 10, it works well all except for me not been able to extend the light on time from the default 8 seconds to something more like 30 seconds.....basically to give me enough to notice the screen has lit up and to be able to have a peek at the screen before the screen goes off again.
I have a unrooted Miui 10 Redmi note 5 pro, but I cannot find how to extend the screen on time for the lock screen, I would like it to come on for say 30 seconds or longer , currently it appears to default to 7 seconds, I have tried various apps to extend the lock screen time but the Miui 10 always has the upper hand and will only ever screen on the 7 seconds...
Help please TYI
Why does my Android 10 Galaxy S9 keep going to lock screen randomly, even while I'm actively using it, like when I'm typing in a any like this? In the Settings I've got the Display time out set to 10 min and Lock Automatically is set for 30 min except when Smart Lock (No Body, Trusted Places) keeps it open.

To further clarify,
I'm using the same Otterbox cover that I've been using for over a year, it does not cover the proximity sensor.
This only began a week ago. It happens completely randomly, a few times an hour at least. It has happened while actively pressing app controls, or reading, or just ended a call.
Found the answer on a Reddit post. Settings | Developers Options | Lock screen when trust is lost. < Disabling seems to have fixed the glitch
