I can still boot into Android but have to click 'Yes' a few times through-out the loading process.
The only thing I did to configure this was to add 'andboot' using regedit.
Is there anything else I should have done?

dats y i hate doin regedits...lol its always somethin..lol theres an easier way buddy..in the android cab thread, theres a link to a specially modified Gene Y dual boot that points specifically to the Andboot folder. i had ur same prob at first. none of original dwnloads points to that folder...they go off the old Android folder. i think its modified by Phh ..cant exactly remember....if u see Eghoti up here, send him a pm...he can give u da direct link to the modified gene Y dual boot cab. im posting from my tilt 2. unless u get ur regedit downpacked u got to get the modified cab

demandarin and I had a back and forth trying to get the dualboot to load properly. In the end we used this cab for the rhodium and it seems to work out of the box without any edits:

not sure if you will have to go back and revert edits you may have already made though.

im having some issues also with the Gene Y dual boot and this new build with the EXT2. when i dual boot, it hangs in haret loader in the beginning for some reason. ill have to look into it some more. my android still boots up fine but with the dual boot, it isnt for some reason. I didnt have this issue with previous builds that used the system sqsh files. I believe the EXT2 partition isn't acting right with the dual boot for whatever reason.
im not sure which build you are using. If u still on the builds using system sqsh, did u try to use the link in the previous posts? it should work fine. its a link to a modified gene y dual boot cab that wrked perfectly for me until i switched to the Ext2 build.

I got the same error on Tilt 2 from AT&T with WM 6.5.
"Gen.Y DualBOOT WVGA v1.0.6.0 - Storage Card.cab" is installed on device internal memory and Android files are stored the root of storage card.
Android is able to run if manually clicked the "haret.exe" from the File Exporler.

You do realize you gave NO information at all with your statement. What is it you were installing?
Did you read through the first few posts of this thread thoroughly [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [05/10] GPS NOW WORKING! and follow the directions and install one of the cab files from the download link on the first post?
There's a few options but as I saw beside each download link it showed exactly what the version was.. whether it be android 2.1 or android 2.1 with sense etc etc.
Downloads (Project Android)
the install is really... really simple. I'm not sure how you can screw it up if you follow the directions... ie
Copy to SD card
Install: This .cab has to be installed directly to your SD card or it will not work!
Soft Reset your handset
Run Project Android (MJGDroidUtil.exe) from your new start menu icon and enjoy!
It's really that simple.
Good luck
well understood im sorrry i did save it to sd but i downloaded the sence one ill give the one you told me to do and see if it works

oh lordy..u need to know those code words..lol or it might not work if u installing the wrong version. so u have a tilt 2 like me n a similar rom. No, u dont need to download the linux in order to get android. heres the scoop. theres 3 android builds...2.01, the AOSP 2.1, and the Klinux 2.1 with Sense 2.5. then u also have a rhobunto program thats a form of linux that u can put in ur phone also. who is ur service with? im figuring att or some GSM network. our phones are GSM but can b used on others also. try out the AOSP 2.1 cab. its the most stable build of Android for Rhodium and has the least amount of things u need to do to get service and data working. First delete any trace of whatever build u tried to download that said didnt work. if u have Clear temp or Clean ram, use that too afterwards. then download the cab file directly to the root of storage card which is /storage . makes sure its at the root and not in a folder. then install the cab. after install..do a soft reset. then when u boot back up, in ur start menu, u should see an Android icon or the Haret. exe/startup utility icon. click on that. then select the corresponding keyboard that matches the tilt 2..its like in the middle or something. this next step is optional but i would do it to have the latest files. next step, while in the that screen, press the menu softkey. U should see something that says Update, Apps, Exit. click on the updates. click all 3 boxes if they not already. then press update. it updates the crucial files zimage, roofts., and the intrdgz files. so ull be up to date. after those update, press close. itll take u back to the startup utility screen. press RUN ANDROID...then hopefully, u good to go...make sure to read the wiki or the project android thread for rhodium so u know what to do if any issues come up. be patient while haret loads up and dont press no buttons...lol the first boot up takes a lil while but afterwards, it loads up way faster. after haret loads, u should be at a black screen that says Android and is flshing. thats the startup screen for android. after that ANdroid starts up. i just wanna emphasize the importance of reading the info up here so u know what works and what doesnt. cuz if u come askn in the threads about something already stated, alot of veteran members might jump on ur case..lol its worth the extra effort. trust me..i know its a ****load to read but its needed so u know the in and outs of whats going on. let me know if u got it up and running. I havent installed Rhobunto yet, so i cant advise on that , if thats what u want. but definitely try the AOSP build. cuz if u get the sense build, u have to enter in ur apn settings n all that. with the AOSP, everything works right off the bat, the voice service and data. once u get seasoned a lil, then try the sense build. if u get stuck on somethin, let me know or send a PM. ill see what i can do to guide ya on the install.
well i got it to work i found out my problem was using opera ten for downloading and it was not downloading all the way and it took forever so i switch it to ie and downloaded fifteen min later it installed and well the only complaint i have is that android sucks my battery dry even in the charger what can i do about it other than that wow i love it...thank you so much

right now with the build, when u boot into android, it doesnt give u accurate readings. theres no way it literally drains the battery while plugged up to the charger unless u got something else in there or like max brightness or somethin..lmfao like u can be in windows and be 100% battery and immediately once u boot into android, itll show that ur only at like 60-70%. its false. it can get all the way down to 5% left in Android, and if u boot back to windows , ull see ur battery still almost full..lol whatever u do, try not to let Android drain the battery completely. it doesnt have a cut off point and will drain it dry and not let u reboot. if that happens , just plug it up to the wall charger, not usb/pc cable charging, and ull be good in 5-10 mins. plugging it up to ur computer after it drained will literally take several several hrs. to get enough power back in there to reboot. your phone needs a minimum amount to get it started.
Glad u got android workn. just make sure to read up on it...even if ur a newb...as u can see , the more veteran members can be snarky at times when people come in asking questions over and over again thats already been answered in the past. The wiki, this forum, and the android rhodium project page will give u all the info u need.

Wipe your sd card and start over is usually will fix any weird bugs. Or as stated in the release thread by 100 different people, delete your data.img file, your cache folder, any old folders associated with the old android build. Usually old conflicting files are the culprit.
i delete all the android files but didnt work. will try formatting the sd card tho
ok. so i did task 29 updated my rom. formatted my sd card. downloaded and installed the newest build. and same problem. first boots it loads the top task bar give it a few seconds. vibrates and reboots.
I also had this problem and its super annoying
But I managed to fix it.
What u wanna do is not UPDATE with the MJG start up tool
Just select which Rhodium I have for keymapping and hit run android.
Try that cuhz that fixed mine.
Make sure u do what was mentioned onj the top post to clear the SD card and format it FAT32 LONG VERSION(uncheck quick format)

You shouldn't need to run the update at all if its a new package that you're using. The zimage/modules update breaks the build currently. (Update in the works). You can still use it to update footfall and initrd.

Hey reef don't know if your aware or not, but i think the reason is that when they use the update app, the modules aren't being extracted properly. i think that's whats causing the system to crash after it boots.
they should be like 876kb or around that and when they use the update app, they are like 6-8Mb in size.

Download this, extract to the root of your SD. Grab the correct startup.txt. Click haret.exe. Enjoy.
FYI - we can't help with Gen.Y, so if you're having issues with it post in a thread for Gen.Y. XDAndroid has nothing to do with Gen.Y.

Uh... who told you that? There's certain devices that have a wifi init issue, but it's not all of them.
Wifi has been working for a very long time... For all phones AFAIK, other than a few that had that init issue.
Typing from XDAndroid Tilt 2 and I can safely confirm that WIFI does work. Everything pretty much works including CAMERA and backlight.

Delete the ts-calibration file and boot again. Should force you to calibrate on first boot.
I heard some of the newer kernels cause issues with calibration - you should only have to ever calibrate once (assuming it's a good calibration) - just backup the file once you get a good one, and reuse it over and over.
So if you can't get it to calibrate, revert to an older kernel, get a good calib file, and save/reuse it.
It runs so slowly and freezes all the time.
What's wrong?

WinMo stays. When you soft reset (from the pin or pulling the battery) you will be brought back to WinMo. Then you can just run haret again, and you're back in Android.
There's a dual-boot app - if you wish, just don't ask for support here. Post in the thread related to the tool. It's called Gen.Y.

hmmm doesn't force_cdma=1 seem incorrect for a ATT tilt2 on ATT 3g???
So basically create an xandroid directory on my SD card and add the line rel_path=xdandroid to the startup?
And copy those contents to that folder?
OK booting into xandroid, but no cell signal or data.
g sensor or something seems off in regards to landscape mode on my phone....
i will continue to search the forum, but any help appreciated!
I had the same problem, but be patient... After the first Boot give it about 10 Minutes time, then it should work. So it did at my TP2.
But after this installation I could see the new version here http://sites.google.com/site/androidport/downloads downloaded the cab, deleted the old files, deinstalled them via WM 6.5 menu, installed the new files but always get an error Anybody in success with the newest version?
And: Anybody here where bluetooth is working?

If you are GSM, force_cdma needs to =0, you are correct. Please change this value accordingly.
Perhaps we need to tear thru the startups and clean them up!

[Q] Problem with XDAndroid.

Hello, I have an AT&T Tilt 2 and when I want to boot off xdandroid 2.2.1 I did the .cab file, soft reset, startup.txt, went into the program, update, boot. It types a bunch of codes, and stops at misc_register(): OK. And it stays there as long as I can see! It won't go any further, however, when I restart the phone, it boots normally in to WinMo. I'm running the stock shipped ROM. Does that have anything to do with it? I'm not getting any errors or anything, just stuck at that. And I know it's not me not waiting, because I've sat it down for 2 hours straight! Please help I really want Android on my Tilt 2.
P.S. I've tried RAR and CAB, also the Reference & Froyo!
Try a clean bundle. Format the card using the HP tool. Full format, FAT32.
Also, try this bundle. It's the newest of the new.

Greetings,
I too have a Tilt 2. In the past I've had many problems with xdandroid and other android ports. I personally prefer to use the manual installation, that way I can control what and where things are placed. I'm currently running the the latest FRX04 release on my Tilt2. Here is how I got it working.
1..Download the RAR package.
2..Format your SD Card (not a quick format)
3..Copy the andboot directory to your SD Card
4..Replace the startup.txt with the one attached here.
5..In WinMo run Haret and let it do it's thing.
6..Once in Android test all your apps.
This worked for me, but until I switched to a newer SD Card I would have random reboots and hang ups.
Post any more complications you have I may be able to help you.

4..Replace the startup.txt with the one attached here.
5..In WinMo run Haret and let it do it's thing.
6..Once in Android test all your apps.
This worked for me, but until I switched to a newer SD Card I would have random reboots and hang ups.

ooooooh!
I will try this startup for my tilt2!
I am having issues like screen landscaping wrong way sometimes etc.
I will report back. Perhaps we get them to pack your startup in the file under "Tilt 2 ATT GSM" or something!
What SD card did you end up getting?
Thanks!

I already had multiple sd cards, Tiad brought it up to try and change my sd card in a conversation the other day, but I'm using a SanDisk 2GB. My SanDisk 4GB is about 4 years old and believe they do wear out. Older cards aren't good for what we need here, since they are basically or on board device storage.
As for the landscaping, sometimes if a hold the phone flat it will switch to landscape left or right, but I usually do not have a problem when I'm holding it in the orientation I'm needing.
That is the same startup file I have used through out 3 different builds. FRX03, FRX04, and FROYO X. I did have overclocking in there, but come to find out it didn't help, I feel that it probably was the cause of a few of my restarts.
I hope everything works out for you. Report back..

which exact package are you using now?
link appreciated if not already posted above.
Is it a good idea to delete the ts-calibration file as in XDAndroid2.2Froyo.012211 ?
Any other cleanup measures?

I'm using the same package as arrrrrgh posted in Post #2. I just left the touch screen calibration file that came with the package. No other clean up, other than full format to fat32 with your preferred utility.

OK cool, I will give that load a shot tonight.
As of now I am using: XDANDROID.2.2.1.AOSP.FRX03.21.11.10.FULL_PACKAGE
My screen issues are gone now with those tweaks! thanks so much!!!
Although now this thing seems dog slow.
I took out my line "clock-7x00.a11=500" which I think is just stock anyway.
You do not use this command as you noted issues overclocking. Thus yours should be stock speed too right?
This thing is sloooooow now from earlier with my old 'incorrect' stock config in the RAR package.
I also have the weird typing issue in which I press c once (on the hard keyboard slideout), but cccc appears. I think if I type a word super slow, it works better.
So if i type cingular at a decent pace, it will type out 'ccccingularrr'
Any leads on that?
you may need to delete your data.img file and rebuild it with the new startup.txt. that way android is running at stock speed during the setup. shot in the dark.

Holy crap dude... search. You've asked so many questions that have been answered previously, seriously.
With that said, all the issues you describe are all related to the system_server bug. Just make a call to voicemail (or any call really) and it'll clear up. We're looking into the cause and a potential solution.

Greetings,
I too have a Tilt 2.

Hello, thank you for the quick response. I did exactly what you said. And once I tap Haret it codes and stops at misc_register(): OK still... Any other suggestions? Thank you agian.
it probably doesn't matter, but is your phone all unlocked etc and able to be flashed with any winmo rom?
using olipro?
just trying to think of any differences with our phones.

What is unlocked? Isn't that where T-Mobile would be able to use it?? If not, please explain. Sorry for my stupidness. lol
Is it like jailbreaking and/or rooting?
You do not need to do hardSPL unlocking to use Android from the SD card.
I would imagine with NAND builds you would... but since this all runs off the SD card, no need for HSPL.
Assuming you're using that build that was posted in post #2, it should work just fine - did you make any changes to it, or just extract it to the root of your SD and hit haret.exe...?

Again, to thephoneguru - you do not need to do that ^^.
Only if you want to install a custom WinMo ROM, or if you're flashing to full Android (which is not recommended at the moment!) do you need to do HSPL.

I did not make any changes at all I just put the androot directory on the root of my sd, went to the file explorer and tapped haret.exe. Also, the sd card was just formatted (non quick format) to FAT32.

It won't have any effect on your issue tho. It'll only enable you to flash custom ROMs if you so choose to do so.
Let's focus on your issue. Can you tell me where it stops? Does it always stop at the same place? Have you tried different kernels? Any different builds? Have you tried the newest FRX04 build?

If you are working on porting the phone to the VS660, LW690, US670, or MS690 with the eventual goal of inclusion in the IHO repository please check in here.
I'm trying port this for the ms690. I'll admit it's a bit over my head but I have a rooted and flashed M and a rooted but stock M at my disposal and a working android development environment.
My rom is compiling now after fixing the typo in the mms_config.xml. I would like to help get the proper changes in the IHO repo if I get this working, but I have absolutely no idea how all that works.
I'll update here if I get my rom compiled and let ya know how it runs. Anyone know how long it should take to completely compile a rom error free? I'm running 2 dual core xeons at 2ghz... This is a long compile for a >100MB file, heh.
Has anyone successfully ported using Ubuntu 11.xx on a 32 bit, vmware setup? I got it to work with wubi, but that messed up my windows. Can you run Ubuntu off of a thumb drive but use your hard drive for storage?

1. I thought you couldn't successfully compile on 32 bit since 2.2
2. Setting up a development environment in vm? or on a flash drive? Do you really deserve that kind of punishment?
I guess you could build on a persistent usb but but it sounds scary to me. I don't know if you could properly mount a drive in live usb, seems like you would need your build folder on a hdd or a 32gig flash.
Backup your stuff and throw on an ext partition. Your building will be easier in a native environment and a clean windows install never hurts.
My compile is stopped. I've been poking around and I don't think I'm gonna figure this out like all the other BS I've figured out.
GRRR this is ****ing stupid, tried to post my error but the forum thinks that xxx.xml is a web address and wont let me post cuz I don't have enough posts. If anyone can help me shoot me a PM I'm not gonna spam the forums to get my posts to post a ****ing error log. If I ever met a spammer I would kick him in the nuts for all the bull**** I have to deal with because of the crap...

I had problems setting up a good build environment with 11.04, but 10.10 64 bit with VMware works great for me on Windows 7 64 bit.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that if anyone want to try my Optiums Cricket version they can grab it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?vcfc5jtwncsxkzg
I don't own a OC, I built it for a friend. He tells me that GPS, BT, and MMS are not working.
So I got my very own zip file, backed, wiped flashed, my phone told me It was "bad" so I went and restored my backup it said bad md5, I thaught no big deal, I keep a couple backups handy, all 3 of them said bad md5. I restored them before just fine, I don't know what's going on, I should just give up, but I'm stupid and enjoy a challenge. I guess I will start completely fresh again. "Goin back to compile"

It'll probably take a couple of hours to compile. The easiest way to get everything included is to file a pull request on Github. Keep in mind I'm not going to accept any applications (so that rules out the real popular MMS patches floating around for the C and M). Most of the stuff for the M is already in the tree, I believe...
Some of the other stuff like cnd probably won't get fixed /just/ yet, but I'll rename the keymap file. What else did you have to change?

Someone mentioned that IHO wasn't computing checksums properly in the general dev thread. Try using another recovery and/or making sure your build box isn't on its way out?
Anyhow I'm using a 32-bit Ubuntu 10.04.3 VM to build everything and it works just fine for me (definitely need to throw some more RAM at the machine tho).

I had to fix a typo on a tag in the mms_config.xml, I think using the cnd from the V was a no no, so i commented out the cnd in the build. There was an extra space in a string in an xml file I can't remember that needed removed. Other than that I just put in the ko files and the gps libs and it was building fine.
I fixed the last error I had which was about 2.5 hours into the build and started the compile over... Then my workstation shut down. It refuses to even post. Tried a new video card to no avail. Dual xeon running rambus ram, LOL. Don't have any parts laying around for it other than drives and video cards.
My port is kind of stalled at the moment, heh.
Just thinking out loud:
Has anyone done a build for the MS690(Metro version)?
Is the "LG Optimus One, P500, > Optimus V Android Development" thread for all Optimus phones? Or just the V?
