which navigation software for resolutions: - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Android Development

res: 240x320 works: sygic 2010 (copilot didn't work didn't work).
res: 320x480: ?

Igo Amigo or Igo MyWay for 480

Is there a program that works with original resolution (except sygic)? (320*240)

Hacked Igo MyWay. Its not perfect but usable.

You can modify iGo My Way to fit 240X320, but there isn't a guide that explains how to do this. At least nothing good anyway.

Sure?? Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5742951&postcount=55. For the data.gro, if someone needed it pm me.

Thanks, but I'm still suck. I'm guessing "adb push data.gro /data/local/bin/" is for the internal memory of the phone, cause there's a data directory but no local or bin in there. Nothing is in the data directory. Should I just make those directories?
I'm typing those commands in Terminal emulator btw.

Not sure what the adb commands are for. I just copied the data file to my sdcard, opened Terminal emulator, su to root, then copy the file off the sdcard to the data dir. ie
Start Igo, then close it off.
Open Terminal emulator
$ su
# cp /sdcard/tmp/data.gro /data/data/com.navngo.igo.javaclient
Start Igo and it now uses the new data.gro set for 320 res.

Thanks, that worked perfectly. The data.gro I have is cutting out the sides a little, but I can still use it. If you have a better data.gro can you send it to me pasks?

For me the Navigon 2.5.1 Software works perfectly. I´ve Myn´s Warm Donut RLS5 and kallt_kaffe´s NBH.
I turned to android one week ago. I´ve tested several android builds 2 months ago but i switched back to wm because wifi, bt, gps didn´t work. But now all these things work nearly perfect. I only have this Camera Bug (kernel) and it´s hard to get a stable USB connection to Windows 7 x64. But i think it needs only one more month and this bugs are fixed.
Best regards

Which resolution?
Thanks everyone.

It´s 320x480 i think. My Android is runnin at 320x480 and scaled down to fit Kaisers screen which is only 240x320. This is the best for me because you´ve more "space" on screen.

I can hardly read the txt on that resolution.

You can use Rogue Tools to adjust your Screen Density in DPI. I´ve no problem reading the text but everyone has it´s own favourite.

I've tried Eclair builds with 320X480 and it usually kills the performance and response time. Running them at 240X320 gives it acceptable speed.
I have Myn´s Warm Donut RLS5 and it's pretty quick, but I have my doubts running it at 320X480. Though, it would make iGO look better, and replace the data.gro file makes it scrunch up, and doesn't entirely fit on the screen.
And yea, I've gotten 320X480 looking good thanks to Rogue Tools.

[Help]Screen Resolution Drop on "Spore"

Hay all,
I just downloaded Spore Origins an installed the JAR file using the Java prog build in.
But the screen resolution starts out full then once it loads up Spore an it gets to the "Sound on or off screen" It drops to 50 x 50 pixles wise in to the to left of the screen an none of the onscreen menus work.
Is there a reason for this? As I've seen this game working on a Touch HD full Screen on youtube.
Cheers
Never saw a JAR version of this game, played it some time ago, but it was a cab file and not JAVA based. Must be a different version out there.

SpeedBooster made my Xperia very fast..

Hi, this is my first post, and want to share a application that i found on another forum, the application called "sppedbooster v2" and it made my xperia file navigation much much faster then ever.
i have R2AA official UK ROM, and from India.
http://teksoftco.com/index.php?section=speedbooster&picture=05.jpg#pictures
try this.
Only problem is that it somehow don't know the banchmark for video, other wise, all my banchmarks increased by a good margin.
Looks interesting, I wan't to try it but i'm scared to make my phone unstable... Well, if anyone tries it before I do please post the before and after benchmarks.
I'm in touch with Teksoft, the manufacturer of SpeedBooster.
The Video benchmark not showing results is being corrected, it's a simple problem of formula.
Apart from that, I'm having great results with this soft, including panel manager.
Before and after results will depend on your settings. You can give higher priority to some programs, it's not a overall overclock. To get some more speed on general behaviour, you can try giving priority to gwes.exe and shell32.exe.

I m having the latest software version .. but still can't get the video banchmark results. .
is there a tweak to make it work ??
is there a way to boost the priority of certain applications without installing this application. i imagine rom cookers will find this very helpful
Mah...I don't see any result.

I think sk tools is an essential tool , making my phone more responsive if I tweak several options , also you can see installed software , delete temp files and a long of etc things , with a single finger touch .
My rom isnt uk and works like a charm for me .
it makes my X1 very fast
Spedbooster works good for me, but not like in the video.
I need to select each of the programs I need using. Then increasing the power for these, seems to make them run better.
eg. I'm using a touch pro, I've tried to optimize the camera app, and now it starts faster.
same for internet explorer or opera.
Yes, a good program. I'm still on the trial version, would love to find a freeware as good.
Let me know if there is any.
Played with it for a couple of days and couldnt see much of performance improvement. Moreover, benchmark showed less values than default settings.
faced a battery overheating as well .
Deleted it.
Guys, I have a question. On my device I'm using Destinator and iGo for GPS navigation but mostly iGo since I like it more.
I've read that I can speed it up using this tool, so I've installed it and added iGo8.exe to the list.
It seems to load smoother, and the search is somewhat faster, if I'm using the France map, calculating a trip from N to S only takes like 4-5seconds instead of ~10seconds before. These results were obtained setting the priority for iGo8.exe to aprox 90%.
Should I set it to maximum? It seems to work better at 90%, I wonder why?

Just a quick note mate, the reason you should set it to 90% rather than a full 100% is because like in a full deskktop pc, if you give one program a the max priority then you bottleneck the cpu from keeping the os stable and giving it some cpu time to continue ticking over, its the same deal with a phone.
Hope this sheds some light for you.

Froyo for Vogue/Kaiser/Polaris [2010-07-06]

Update: to enable bluetooth pairing do this in a terminal
$ su
# chown 1002.1002 /data/misc/bluetoothd
Now not only blueooth pairing starts working again but bluetooth music works too
I've pushed my VaniljFroyo modfications into dzo's repo so there is no VaniljFroyo anymore.
The official thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=710105
The latest build can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/
Instructions
1. Get the latest build.
2. Rename it to androidinstall.tgz and place it in the andboot folder.
3. Install system.
4. Boot the system.
To gain an extra 11Mb of RAM on Kaiser or Polaris, get the kernels I've posted here: Get the kernel from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7079594&postcount=299
Vogue users can get this with the latest official kernel from dzo (2010-07-06)
-----------------------------------
Old stuff below
This is basicly dzo's latest Fresh Froyo release with some minor adjustments.
With latest I mean the latest version available as I write this which is this version: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/system-froyo-01-07-10_18.tgz/download
Download: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/2010-07-02/VaniljFroyo_RLS2.zip/download
RLS2
- Market now works (Thanks mssmison and Incubus)
- Slight QVGA adjustments to the drawer phone keypad.
- Added google maps framework (needed by apps that uses maps)
- Added Facebook and Twitter from FRF85b just because there was room left
- Removed nonworking MagicSmoke live wallpaper
RLS1
- Wifi support
- QVGA adjusted bootanimation, backgrounds, DeskClock app and Music app.
- Added bash
- Added a bunch of nice scripts that I made for VaniljEclair.
- Added compcache support.
Get a terminal from Market, then use the following scripts (always do an su first):
enable_compcache.sh - Enable compcache (use the command free before and after to see the difference)
disable_compcache.sh - Guess what it does?
wifi_level.sh low|medium|high|extreme (medium is the default, low does not work for me)
default_network.sh
hsxpa.sh
gprsclass.sh
lcd_density.sh
But you propably won't need to change anything but I recommend trying with and without compcache. It propably helps a bit.
Oh, and the odex.sh script is included and can be enabled from userinit.sh, just like with VaniljEclair RLS7 it takes care of upgrades and uninstalls on the next restart of the phone. Not sure really how it affects performance but since odexing the system apps gives a noticable boost it can't hurt.
Don't expect everything to work flawlessly and have fun!
You may want to try another Launcher like the very nice Launcher Pro that is available for free from the Market.
If cyanogen says this about running Launcher2 (which is what we have in Froyo) on HTC Dream/Sapphire(magic)
* Launcher2 (too clunky for these devices)

then I think we have a good reason to try other launchers aswell.

And so now I am running this and so far, no real problems. Make and recieve calls, phone syncs contacts, camera works reasonably well. Sometimes I am getting lines when snapping pic, but actual pic is fine with no lines. Only camera issue is trying to adjust zoom gives a FC.
Looking at apps now to see whats available. So far :2 thumbs up:
EDIT: Installed Astro to try and install some backed up apps thru Astros's backup function. Checking off the app I want to install and hit "install" button; Message says nothing is checked to install. Was able to navigate to backup folder directly and install app (Battery Widget.) Hitting OK caused Astro to go blackscreen. I'm thinking this is an Astro issue, not Froyo.
Wait.... hang on, I mean already? Dammit I told you I was gonna have to tie you to a chair if you made any major updates......
Aaaarghhhhh
Lol, I really want to try this now, but I already decided I was gonna do some gps stuff this weekend.......
What the heck, I can always use my old diamond if I really get stuck for a phone, Downloading now, ( and how do you find time to keep up with all this?).
nice i will peep some stuff out
what works and what doesn`t
can somebody share what works in this build and what are the major bugs `cause i installed vaniljeclair just an hour ago having some battery issues but thi is android after all and it rocks ... keep up the good work dude

GPRS
Great work kallt_kaffe! Fast and stable build! I hope there shall be a fix for the market .
On first boot, there is no usual setup wizard, and I like that way, but somehow my phone wont connect to GPRS, I have no data connection. Phone is working. Seemingly it recognised my Network APN settings, but still, there is no connection. Can someone help me, please?
incubus has posted a market fix for his froyo thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712310
I am sure it should work for this build as well as they are both based from dzo.
Great work Kallt . OS with newest NBH from dzo works f**kin awesome fast in comare to Eclair. But Still same issue like in Eclair RLS7b/c with bonus. On RLS7b/c I cannot call only on GSM, on FroYo cannot call on GSM/UMTS (on PolyMod 2.1d/g all works fine )
Thanks again for Your hard work
here is a few of my findings so far...
betterterminal FCs
getprop fix from vaniljeclair doesn't fix it.
wifi is not connecting...(probably need to run script but having trouble without a terminal)
would like to see contacts and dialer that is used in eclair version.
other than that it looks very prommising....
for now I will keep vaniljeclair in nand and try to play with froyo on partitions.
Installed now, plus Incubus Market fix, which required a fresh install, since I merged the update with the installer tarball, it does find more apps, but is still not quite finding all my previous favourites, ( how can I survive without Facebook, or tapatalk?).
It is faster, or feels faster at any rate, looks nicer too, settings is less cluttered, and easier to navigate, I will have to give it my usual road test, but so far it looks like a winner

Is there a way to enable 16x9 output?

I have an Allshare Dongle and it works great with the Note 10.1-2014 but there are annoying black bars on the left and right of the image because the 10.1-2014 runs at 16x10 aspect ratio. I know the Nexus has some handles for forcing 16x9, but does anyone know how to do this on the 10.1-2014? Changing the display resolution might work if you could set it to 1920x1080.

As of right now, no. The handles that the nexus uses can also be used for this device. But since Samsung is using a custom window manager, it causes the device to crash and boot loop into the boot Samsung intro when the device normally turns on. I am currently in communication with a developer who released an app on the play store that allowed anyone to change the resolution of their device. This device is currently not supported. But with my help, we are trying to figure out how to add support for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. Do not try to change the resolution yourself through terminal. You can change the resolution, but your device will need to be resetted.
You can run this command in terminal to change the resolution:
wm size 1980x1080
And reset with this command:
wm size reset
I do warn you that if you use that first one, your device won't be too happy.. and will end up frozen on the samusng boot logo.

I very much appreciate your response, but looking at the quote above, I can't tell if you are saying that the wm size command will work or if it won't work. The way I read your post seems to suggest both. Sorry, I'm sure I'm just not following along correctly...
Can the methodology that will be used in the upcoming app you referenced be used in a script or adb right now?

Hi, Ryan. You can use the methodology (wm size 1280x800) with some caveats. Firstly, you'll have to be root to do it (so, su - first). Secondly, you'll need to reduce the density (use wm density 150 to do this; reasonably, anything up to 320 should work but I know that 150 does). Thirdly, you'll need a different Home than TouchWiz. I know that Apex works and I have read that Nova does, too. The status bar looks bad at first, but, after a reboot, you'll be in business.
To return to normal, execute wm size reset; wm density reset as root.
Note that, as with anything like this, you'll want a decent backup. Screw-ups result in flashing stock and factory resetting to get out of the boot loop.
Good Luck!

Changing the resolution without root

Ok, since I use my Galaxy Note Pro mainly for drawing, I found really frustrating to have so many useless pixels (they are not useless, but I always found my previous Galaxy Note 10.1 old version way more snappy) so today I found a way to change the resolution of my Galaxy Note Pro with adb and without root, just plug your GN on you PC and launch a cmd.exe with the admin rights. No navigate with (without the +) cd +where you adb.exe is+ now I'm far from being a pro so I did it in 2 steps, I wrote
adb shell wm size 1920x1200 (press enter the tablet will reboot, the 320 regular DPI WON'T WORK YOU HAVE TO CHANGE IT TO 240)
adb shell wm density 240 && adb reboot (press enter).
You won't notice much difference on screen, but trust me, what you do will be way more fluid !
to reset it's :
adb shell wm size reset
adb shell wm density reset && adb reboot
I just warn you, this is only for drawing purpose, most of the Samsung apps are scaled for 320dpi, for example the camera preview will be too big and so on but still it's functional !
Maybe someone more pro can make some fine adjustment !? I tried different dpi and it always crash...
Thank you. Much more space on screen indeed. Only keyboard is smaller and not resized to fill screen.

I guess that if you take a third party keyboard (like swiftkey) and third party soft that doesn't work "properly" everything should be fixed. Once again all you need is to write the reset and everything goes back in order~
