Froyo for Vogue/Kaiser/Polaris [2010-07-06] - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Android Development

Update: to enable bluetooth pairing do this in a terminal
$ su
# chown 1002.1002 /data/misc/bluetoothd
Now not only blueooth pairing starts working again but bluetooth music works too
I've pushed my VaniljFroyo modfications into dzo's repo so there is no VaniljFroyo anymore.
The official thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=710105
The latest build can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/
Instructions
1. Get the latest build.
2. Rename it to androidinstall.tgz and place it in the andboot folder.
3. Install system.
4. Boot the system.
To gain an extra 11Mb of RAM on Kaiser or Polaris, get the kernels I've posted here: Get the kernel from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7079594&postcount=299
Vogue users can get this with the latest official kernel from dzo (2010-07-06)
-----------------------------------
Old stuff below
This is basicly dzo's latest Fresh Froyo release with some minor adjustments.
With latest I mean the latest version available as I write this which is this version: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/system-froyo-01-07-10_18.tgz/download
Download: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/2010-07-02/VaniljFroyo_RLS2.zip/download
RLS2
- Market now works (Thanks mssmison and Incubus)
- Slight QVGA adjustments to the drawer phone keypad.
- Added google maps framework (needed by apps that uses maps)
- Added Facebook and Twitter from FRF85b just because there was room left
- Removed nonworking MagicSmoke live wallpaper
RLS1
- Wifi support
- QVGA adjusted bootanimation, backgrounds, DeskClock app and Music app.
- Added bash
- Added a bunch of nice scripts that I made for VaniljEclair.
- Added compcache support.
Get a terminal from Market, then use the following scripts (always do an su first):
enable_compcache.sh - Enable compcache (use the command free before and after to see the difference)
disable_compcache.sh - Guess what it does?
wifi_level.sh low|medium|high|extreme (medium is the default, low does not work for me)
default_network.sh
hsxpa.sh
gprsclass.sh
lcd_density.sh
But you propably won't need to change anything but I recommend trying with and without compcache. It propably helps a bit.
Oh, and the odex.sh script is included and can be enabled from userinit.sh, just like with VaniljEclair RLS7 it takes care of upgrades and uninstalls on the next restart of the phone. Not sure really how it affects performance but since odexing the system apps gives a noticable boost it can't hurt.
Don't expect everything to work flawlessly and have fun!
You may want to try another Launcher like the very nice Launcher Pro that is available for free from the Market.
If cyanogen says this about running Launcher2 (which is what we have in Froyo) on HTC Dream/Sapphire(magic)
* Launcher2 (too clunky for these devices)

then I think we have a good reason to try other launchers aswell.

Most of the work was done by dzo.

I am so glad you have a kaiser...
Thank you.

Haha, I just update to release 7c of VaniljEclair and you tease me with this....

Just to clarify, when installing or updating new apps, we have to run odex script?

And so now I am running this and so far, no real problems. Make and recieve calls, phone syncs contacts, camera works reasonably well. Sometimes I am getting lines when snapping pic, but actual pic is fine with no lines. Only camera issue is trying to adjust zoom gives a FC.
Looking at apps now to see whats available. So far :2 thumbs up:
EDIT: Installed Astro to try and install some backed up apps thru Astros's backup function. Checking off the app I want to install and hit "install" button; Message says nothing is checked to install. Was able to navigate to backup folder directly and install app (Battery Widget.) Hitting OK caused Astro to go blackscreen. I'm thinking this is an Astro issue, not Froyo.

Wait.... hang on, I mean already? Dammit I told you I was gonna have to tie you to a chair if you made any major updates......
Aaaarghhhhh
Lol, I really want to try this now, but I already decided I was gonna do some gps stuff this weekend.......
What the heck, I can always use my old diamond if I really get stuck for a phone, Downloading now, ( and how do you find time to keep up with all this?).

nice i will peep some stuff out

what works and what doesn`t
can somebody share what works in this build and what are the major bugs `cause i installed vaniljeclair just an hour ago having some battery issues but thi is android after all and it rocks ... keep up the good work dude

I was able to get the normal English keyboard by disabling the "Japanese IME" in Language and Keyboard settings. Not completely sure about stability yet but it seems to be working as expected now.

is this using jit?

looks very nice but can it run app2sd
I don't know I'm legally blond

GPRS
Great work kallt_kaffe! Fast and stable build! I hope there shall be a fix for the market .
On first boot, there is no usual setup wizard, and I like that way, but somehow my phone wont connect to GPRS, I have no data connection. Phone is working. Seemingly it recognised my Network APN settings, but still, there is no connection. Can someone help me, please?

incubus has posted a market fix for his froyo thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712310
I am sure it should work for this build as well as they are both based from dzo.

Great work Kallt . OS with newest NBH from dzo works f**kin awesome fast in comare to Eclair. But Still same issue like in Eclair RLS7b/c with bonus. On RLS7b/c I cannot call only on GSM, on FroYo cannot call on GSM/UMTS (on PolyMod 2.1d/g all works fine )
Thanks again for Your hard work

here is a few of my findings so far...
betterterminal FCs
getprop fix from vaniljeclair doesn't fix it.
wifi is not connecting...(probably need to run script but having trouble without a terminal)
would like to see contacts and dialer that is used in eclair version.
other than that it looks very prommising....
for now I will keep vaniljeclair in nand and try to play with froyo on partitions.

Installed now, plus Incubus Market fix, which required a fresh install, since I merged the update with the installer tarball, it does find more apps, but is still not quite finding all my previous favourites, ( how can I survive without Facebook, or tapatalk?).
It is faster, or feels faster at any rate, looks nicer too, settings is less cluttered, and easier to navigate, I will have to give it my usual road test, but so far it looks like a winner

13/08 1.0 - MoDaCo Hero Rosie Remover

Nice and simple this... by popular request... a Rosie remover for Hero! It simply deletes all the Rosie and widget files to return you to the 'stock' Android look. Saves you a bit of space too!
Yes, you can achieve exactly the same thing via the command prompt, this just makes it a bit easier for newbies...
This update is designed to be applied on top of a standard build, using the recovery image linked below. DO A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST!
Details and download:

Changelog
1.0
Initial Release
Lots of folks asking about this - I've added it to the wiki
Went to add the MoDaCo Patch but its already there Ta Paul xx
Okay. I might have just fudged up. I got too excited and did the update.zip *without* making a nandroid back-up..
Pure speculation, but if I decide I want the Rosie stuff back on how should I pull that off?
Is there an advantage between this and doing the method where you go into manage applications and clear defaults to go back to Android default?
So how much faster and slicker is the Hero with Rosie removed ?
I've heard reports that it is much faster and I'm kind of tempted......

Only clearing the default will still keep the Sense UI in memory, it has its own process if you take peek with a taskmanager (I think its called TouchFlo or something). Removing it completely obviously wont have it running anymore

I ran the Rosie remover on my Hero and it feels a lot faster indeed. All together a more fluid experience now
Gives certificate error...
does this remove anything else other than touchflo and support files? Like the music player and any other hero apps?

The apps are all there (calendar, people, mail, messages, music) and they still work
Lol guys please
no need to patch anything
just go into manage applications, scroll down to touch flo and clear dfaults....the next time you press the home button you get the option to use the default launcher..
It is touch flo that causes a little lagginess on the hero as it did on my g1 running the hero rom
dont flash or patch anything unless its really needed

But if you check the running processes you will se that touchflo is still running and using system resources, if I'm not mistaken it will also restart even if you kill it. To prevent that you have to either remove it or just rename the apk file.
I took the plunge and tried the rosie remover today.
And let me say that my phone is a LOT smoother and faster.
pressing 'Home' button gets the home screen much faster. Apps start faster. And I dont get the slowdown that I can get with the Rosie UI. It may not be as pretty or fancy but sometimes you just want speed.
So much so in fact that I'm going to stick with it this way for now.
I can only hope that HTC do address the lagginess of the phone in their upcoming firmware update. I'm hoping that it's down to some rushed, poor coding. Rather than the fact that our phones just arent fast enough to run all the extra processes etc involved.
Anyway, I'd recommend people try it. Do a nandroid backup first so you can go back if you want.
Thanks Paul, it does feel much snappier now.
I guess another image replacing HTC's custom apps (alarm, contact list...) with Android's default ones is not possible? What about one using the default Android theme (the orange one)?
Maybe be a silly question - but what are the reasons / benifits to removing Rosie ( Rosie is the Sense UI right? )?

Well, for one the fact that the phone is much much more responsive that way. I've been using it for several hours now and I can confirm it.
Sounds brilliant!

Thanks for releasing this - I know it's not hard to do with the terminal, but I can't be the only person who'd rather not see a command prompt on their phone. We'll be installing Linux next...

We retain HTC's custom ones too. However, I just followed the instructions in this thread to install Android's stock calendar app and I'm truly bewildered how much faster and cooler it is. I'm thinking we can open a thread collecting HTC's custom files and stock Android ones, with a quick tutorial to install them?
Whats the difference between removing Rosie, and just using sommething like Home Switcher, that lets you chose which environment to use ( Android or Sense UI)?

[Rom] KaguDroid 1.3 ERE36B (26/02/10)

Hi guys,
From now all my work will be on h_t_c_p_e_d_i_a, announcement of new roms or any other work from me will be on h_t_c_p_e_d_i_a.
So to be informed follow that thread.
Regards,
I'm missing the mobile network setting .. Menu => Settings => Wireless controls => Mobile network settings and de-select “Enable always-on mobile data”
It keeps my connection always on ...
Cheers for a great rom
Nice to see a plain android rom from you Lox, but why 2.0 and not 2.0.1?
and is the camera the only thing that doesnt work well?
htnx for the rom
Downloading and flashing asap. Thx.
First feedback:
Crazy fast and only 45Mb!!!
A must! I love it. But havn't made deep tests
seems pretty good and stable to me.
thanks lox
It's possible to enable App2sd ?
looked very nice at first until it tried to sync to google (no more contacts) so i needed to reflash and then backup first :///
well, while i was looking if everything else is fine (which is, but a couple speed problems here and there) i got a FC com.android.media (?)
No idea what i did else than setting up alarm...
at the moment i am rebuilding my contact list with mybackup and further testing..
nice job
would like to see sense?
I hear a lot people havinf Fc. i'm using the rom for 4 hours now and didn't get one FC at all. its a great ROM really fast and its more stable than the AOSP 2.0.1-r6.
Its Fast, responisve and so far the best 2.0 Rom for the hero. Lox you did a great job. soon a donation will come your way .
The new album looks great it works fast and i like it, first Run is really slow and you have to wait a while to let it creat thumbs
@TobenderZephyr plz no Sense
i got a FC with google maps, but after uninstalling and re-installing it is fine
Lox is there any chance of seeing standard 2.0-2.0.1 analog clock which I've seen in droid? Cause it's the only thing I really miss in this fantastic rom. Great work!
Experienced a bug methinks. I was listening to music through a jackplug to a stereo system just now, and the screen went "black", but no lock afaik.
And then someone called me, while i was listening to music. I was in another room not bothering to pick up. When i got back to check who called, the screen was black, and i could not do anything. I pressed the home key, and nothing. I had to take out my battery and restart the phone to get it working.
Oh, and i was also charging the phone.
So, listening to music with a minijack plugged in while charging and getting a phonecall = crash.
ill try to reproduce when i get back home.

KaguDroid 1.0 (version beta)
This Rom is built from Android 2.0 sources, with my own customizations that make it the KaguDroid Rom. I find it really stable for a beta release, at least, for me, it is usable everyday. And many more really great things will come in next versions!

Maybe lame to ask but what are the know problems and what are "your own customizations" ? or what is different from this one
Anyway nice to see another ROM from you again
Very nice job Lox, this is definitly the first fully usuable 2.0 rom on Hero.
I'd recommand it for those who don't care about the sense UI.
Bluetooth file transfer
Is it possible to transfer files from one phone to another on this 'what sounds like an excellent' rom. Tried to on previous hero eclair roms with no success. Looking forward to flashing this rom but this would be one of the major reasons I would ditch my MoDaCo 3.0 rom.
Keep up the good work Lox.
Do you have any plans to make your source code available on GitHub (or even to share it at all) like Cyanogen does?
Ok, so i managed to reproduce the bug. If you listen to music and someone calls, your phone crashes and locks up when the call goes to voicemail or if the caller stops/hangs up.
*edit *
Just did a second test with spotify. The lockup did not occur with it. Just the internal app then i guess.
Also, a question about general functionality in android 2.0+ roms. How do i go about and disable Edge/3g traffic? I could do this in the stock rom by going into wireless settings and untick the "use mobile network when wireless is not available" or something.
It seems this option does not exist in this rom? Or any 2.0/1 roms?
Am i mistaken?
If i am, or if there is such a choice, where do i find it?
(it causes big phone bills on my part :\ )
Good work, Audio over bluetooth not working (I paired it with ES350 but I hear nothing!)
Regards

Ice Glacier Rom Guide- (Tips known issues and info)

Hi everybody, I have been closely following the ICED GLACIER ROM development thread since it was started. I know there is a consistently growing number of people who have just purchased their myTouch 4G phone (android noobs and vets). The ICED GLACIER ROM thread is getting really large, and I am sure the thought of reading through 1,600+ posts can potentially be a little overwhelming and very time consuming. I know everyone is really excited to try that AWESOME ROM, but I also see in the thread that everyone wants to know what works, what doesn't, how to fix this, etc... I'm hoping that people with questions about this ROM can look here for an answer before asking questions in the other thread that have already been answered along the way (sometimes many times). I hope this will help the devs too- if we can provide info and answer questions about everything that has already been answered in the other thread then we can get rid of repeat posts of questions and problems that are cluttering up the other thread- meaning it'll hopefully be really easy to narrow down current hiccups or problems people are experiencing. If anyone can contribute to this thread, it would be greatly appreciated!
*Flashing- When I first flashed this ROM, Iced Glacier was at 1.0, first I flashed V0.5, then V1.0. With V1.1, you no longer need to flash V0.5 or any other version first- you can go from stock rooted to V1.1 (make sure to make a nandroid backup first!!!). If you are not sure how to flash this ROM, or how to root your phone- you WILL find answers by reading through some of the other threads in this section. *It looks like a few people have had problems when/ after flashing this ROM due to not completely wiping the phone in different versions of this ROM- you might want to do a complete wipe just to be thorough (I'm no expert, it's just a suggestion to hopefully save you any headaches down the road)
*Overclocking- Make sure to install/ purchase SetCPU, so you can tweak the processor speeds. If you are not sure what SetCPU is, or how to use it- do some studying first. It has been noted that each of our phones responds differently with the different speed settings- I have noticed, that when I have my phone set too high it freezes (particularly while I'm surfing using Dolphin HD), and I have also noticed that I get better performance (and Quadrant results) when my max speed is set at 1440 mhz as opposed to 1382 or 1497mhz. Again, every phone will respond different. Play with the different speeds and see what works best for your phone- everyone can make recommendations (i.e. lower clock speeds with the screen off, battery low, or temp too high), but in the end you have to find what works best for you. I would recommend that you use the 'on demand' option instead of 'performance' to avoid having your phone constantly working at the highest set clock speed though, and don't forget to set different profiles (i.e. screen off, temp too high, battery low...). Remeber, this will affect your battery life, along with a million other variables related to your phone, so make note of before and after results to find a good balance between speed/performance and battery longevity to your liking.
*Apps and Data before flashing the ROM- install 'Titanium Backup' (I recommend purchase as well to support the creator) and batch 'backup all of your apps and data' (run the batch 'verify backup' afterwords to make sure you have a good backup to restore after installing this ROM). I had problems with my backups, so after I flashed V1.0 every time I tried to batch 'restore all apps and data' my phone would reboot, in the end I went through my backup and individually restored data (and app if it was missing) for all of my apps- time consuming, I know, but it was worth it to have this ROM (note: I was using the free version of TB- I now have purchased the app, but haven't had to use it yet for a full batch 'restore').
*Once you have installed the ROM- open 'rom manager' and execute 'fix permissions'. Do this first, as it will likely fix force closes or the 'instant close upon starting the app' that sometimes happens, before you experience them. After running 'fix permissions'- power down, pull your battery for a couple minutes, and then restart your phone (I suggest this, because I had an 'instant close' problem with wi-fi calling and power down + pull battery fixed it for me). You will also want to check to make sure your wi-fi is functional-if not Gr8gorilla has a fix here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9328350&postcount=1
*Test a flash website on your browser- if it does not work, you likely have to install flash from the market. If it does work- you should be good.
*Bluetooth- If you use bluetooth for calls, it should work fine (I use bluetooth for making calls and have had no problems with V1.0 or V1.11). However, if you use bluetooth for stereo music (A2DP) I understand that it does work with V1.0, but not on V1.11. I have noticed that when I have bluetooth turned on and try to dial a number on the stock dialer- it is very very sluggish to dial the numbers (ex. I press a 5 on the dial pad and wait about 2-3 seconds for the number to light up, sound the DTMF tone, and provide the haptic feedback). I have since switched over to using the 'atakephone' app and have had 0 problems. ***The devs are aware of the bluetooth issue, and plan to include a fix in the next update http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9684992&postcount=1577 *EDIT*- bluetooth fixed in ROM V1.1.2
*Genius/ Handsfree- there have been issues with this not functioning properly or not at all. Again, this will be fixed in the next update http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9684317&postcount=1573 *EDIT* Fixed in the V1.1.2 update!
*YouTube app- I would say it's not usable- it starts 'turbo scrolling' when I use it- it will sometimes stop if you hold your finger on the screen, but revert back when you take your finger off. This ROM is based off of the original MT4G kernel and I think I read somewhere that the version of this youtube app associated with the original kernel had this bug. Goolge released a new version of the youtube app yesterday (12-8-10)- since I installed that update, I no longer have problems in the app. *EDIT* See *RECAP- KNOWN ISSUES below.
*MMS- looks like some are having problems sending and recieving MMS messages- it might be a problem with the phone rather than this ROM (I am getting a replacement because my phone has that problem). Depending on who you talk to at Tmo customer service, they will confirm it as a known issue with the 4G. Make sure to do atleast a handful of tests sending and recieving with your phone before and after flashing. *EDIT*- some people (myself included) noticed that when using the stock messages app, contacts pictures don't display- looks like there are 2 fixes, 1 being a FULL wipe and fresh install of the ROM or 2- clearing cerain contacts cache settings as Notxel21 posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9706457&postcount=1653
*Bloatware- this ROM has the original bloatware apps removed. The Monopoly demo, demo video, Rock Band Demo, etc. are gone (as well as some other stuff that I forgot to mention- which is proof that it wasn't needed in the ROM anyway ).*** A 'spare parts' app was added for tweaking window animations and viewing battery stats. A 'dsp settings' app was also added to allow equalizer settings for the phones earpiece, external speaker, and the 3.5mm headphone port (really sweet btw!). I had to reinstall 'superuser', 'rom manager', and titanium backup from the market after flashing. The market still works for me after flash without any glitches fwiw.
***Updates- they will come when they come, theres no need to ask about it every day or so. The easiest way to check for yourself is to open the Iced Glacier ROM thread and look at the changelog in post #2- the devs have been faithful to update that post whenever they release a new version. (You can also look through the first post, but the second is cleaner as they put the newest changelog right at the top of the post) *EDIT*- Version 1.1.2 released
*RECAP- KNOWN ISSUES-- Youtube- no worky until you update in the market *EDIT* some are having problems with the youtube app in the 1.1.2 version- looks like it works fine until you use the app in landscape and try to return to portrait- the display returns to portrait, but stays stretched out for widescreen.
*Themed vs. Unthemed- I tried themed first in V1.0- I switched to unthemed and currently use V1.11 unthemed. I only used the V1.0 themed version for about 15 minutes, so I can't really provide any info on it aside from intense screen transition effects and alot of blue/black icons. V1.0 unthemed appears just like stock (if you don't like the HTC sense, you can use launcher pro, ADW or a list of other homescreen replacements). V1.11 Unthemed looks just like stock, but the drop down notification bar is transparent, and the icons at the top are colored with a circle battery meter that shows the battery % in the middle (very cool). There are other notification icon options available in the themes and apps section of this MT4G forum if you want to try something different, but I think you will lose the transparent drop down if you flash a different bar.
*There are also some other issues that seem to be random- someone is having problems with wifi not working at all, someone having problems with the 'media room' app, etc... to my knowledge there is currently no resolve for these problems.
Hope this helps! If anyone has anything to contribute, please let me know, and I will try to update this OP, so all the help stays in one common place.

OK, how do I move it, or do I have to request it be moved?
I guess it probably could be closed anyway since IG is now at 1.1.2. Gotta love the speed of development!
I like how not a single person thanked you for your effort. So... thank you! This was very nice of you.

Hey, thanks alot, that goes a long way! Since IG has been updated I will continue to keep an eye on it and update this thread accordingly. I plan to work on that tonight.
No Bugs in Mine
I have noticed none of the above mentioned bugs you claim. Youtube works fine, and so does Genius button. According to information I have gotten from others on IRC, the only bug is BT stereo, which I do not care about to be honest. I recommend the non-themed version.

Your fortunate. Not everyone has experienced all of these bugs, I'm just posting what I have read about in the IG ROM thread as well as what I have experienced. As far as the non-themed version, it's my fav. Just got my replacement phone and looking forward to flashing IG 1.1.2, but first I'm gonna play catchup in that thread to see if I need to update this one yet.

Duplicate Ringtones and Notifications
I am not sure what happened but all of a sudden I see two of each ringtone and notification. They seem to work properly but not sure why they are showing up twice. I added a few new ones to /system/media/audio by hand. Wondering if this has been tested by anyone else. I do not have any in /sdcard since I thought that could be problematic.
=====================
Update: I fixed this issue by creating directories on /sdcard/media/audio as follows but empty folders:
/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications
Also according to Zinx: Any folders on the /sdcard named notifications or ringtones will be found regardless of subdirectories...thus I think that may have been the entire issue I was seeing.
Everything looks about right

I'm glad you were able to fix it! I had that same problem shortly after I got my phone, but it was with alot of my pictures as well. I ended up searching my sdcard from my computer for *.mp3 and *.jp to find all of the duplicates.

Here is a problem I've came across....not rebooting after I flashed 1.1.2 I have to actually pull my battery and power up. Very strange to me
Has anyone else experienced this

Was that through Clockwork- when you choose the reboot option after flashing? When you power down, do you have to pull your batt before you can restart your phone again? I know that the first time I flash a zip through clockwork, when I select reboot- there is a longer delay than if I were to execute that command without flashing any .zips.
Nice thread, should really help. I really wish someone had a list of the bloatware that was removed from it though, I used more of it than I didn't. There might be something removed that I might need someday.

[ROM][Fast|High Battery Life]TurboFire Beta 10[OC|A2SD|Swap|GO Launcher][DEAD]

OK my aim here was to make a really clean rom, basically like CM7 but basing it off a stock rom for stability and battery life. I have taken most sense related features out to hopefully create a really lightweight rom. I will remove more htc stuff as i find better alternatives.
Features
Latest m1ndh4x8r kernel
Apps to SD
Rooted
Deodexed
Busybox
Swap support
High performance OC deamon installed
GO Launcher EX installed
Advanced Power menu
Go Keyboard
Go Contacts replacing dialer and htc contacts *No dialer bug*
Custom themed to look more like stock gingerbread/cynogenmod
ROM NO LONGER HOSTED/IN DEV
Please reply with any buys or issues so i can get this rom as small and fast as possible.
Changelog:
Beta 4:
Removed more apps, thing like talk, facebook ect. You can find this in market (included)
Updated to latest kernel
Changed HTC keyboard for GO keyboard
Replaced calculator with cm one
removed most htc wallpapers, when i find time ill most a link to them if people want to download them
Beta 5:
Fixed Wifi
Changed back to htc keyboard
removed more apps
removed all but default ringtones and sounds
Beta 6:
Added advanced power menu
Replaced htc keyboard for GO keyboard
Fixed browser
Fixed contacts (hopefully)
Beta 7:
Add htc flashlight app
Modded to look more like CM/Stock gingerbread
Added Go Contacts ES
A couple more bits of bloat removed
Added GPS patch
Beta 8:
Fixed gapps issue
Beta 9:
Add tesla led app
Add ES file explorer
Fixed installation of apks in data/app
Performance tweaks
Beta 10:
Rebase on stock
Advanced Power Menu is missing atm
A lot of the perf tweaks are yet to be reapplied so things may be a little slower atm
Known Issues:
Go contacts is broken still, this looks like its going to need a little more digging. Next release im going to add back in htc contacts so its at least usable
USB storage does not work but has been reported to work if you mount the sdcard in recovery. This is not a guarenteed workaround and im working on a fix.
Using Personalise inside settings does not work. This is a bug due to the removal of roise.
Thanks:
d33ps1x for fixes and testing
HTC for a wonderful phone and base
m1ndh4x8r for his kernel and advanced power menu
UOT for their theme kitchen
crypted for GPS patch
Trying it out now....well right after I try out mine.
Updated to beta 4. This removes a lot more stuff and has a newer more stable kernel
go!keyboard's process crashes repeatedly.
Can't enable wireless and usb connection (mount sdcard, works charge only).
Missing Contact app from beta 4.
PS: I am italian so excuse me for my english.

Nice, how is the rest of the rom. Dialer, contacts, email, browser, camera ect?
Added screenshots of rom thanks to d33ps1x. So what do people think, do people like the sense theme or would people like a more CM7 look?
Ill do beta 6 tomorrow once ive had some rest, changes include the return of the Go keyboard (thanks to d33ps1x for the fix) and contacts and browser fixes (back to the htc versions for now )
Ive also added a poll to see which launcher people want to see with the rom, i can do multiple versions with different launchers but its nicer to all be on the same rom. My personal favorite is GO launcher, its nice and customisable. ADW is nice but i cant bundle the nice version (EX) with the rom as its payware.
Looks nice
But what's about Dialer battery drain issue - is this fixed?
Please integrate the german dictonary
It looks nice but the browser crash all the time.

ATM i am still using the HTC dialer, but ill see if i can find a nice dialer to inlcude instead.
Ok this build should be more stable. Browser and contacts should be fixed. GO keyboard has been placed inside data/app so it may be removed for swype or another keyboard if you prefer
I hope to add Go contacts next build, i ran out of time and could not find a link to download the apk. This will fix dialer issues and is themeable to match go launcher.
Great release, thanks. Fast and stable.
But there are some problems
- Where is Contacts app in menu?
--- How to manage the contacts in this rom?
-USB problem persist
-many applications are out of date
-Add music/video player
-Torch crashes, please add this:

I am trying to get the apk for go contacts, hopefully i can download it off my phone and just pull the apk out. Contacts therefore atm are broken.
For the usb issue, does it not show as an option or does it just not mount it to you pc when you try and do it?
Ill try and get some newer apps in the rom once we have all the core functionality there.
I might go back to stock htc torch it works well and is small. All this feedback is valuable to me as I have limited access to a wildfire to test on so it makes testing things out hard. I wont be able to get a release out for another 24hrs plus as im travelling but one i do i hope for it to be as solid as possible
I would recommend Nemus launcher--it uses less memory and battery than Go EX, but is more feature-filled than Zeam.

ill have a look at that launcher tomorrow and see what i think of it.
As for the usb issues ill have a look at it and see what i can do
Rom is not uploaded yet but it includes go contacts and dialer, so there will be no dialer bug. It will also have htc torch back. Later ill look and see if i can find the cause of this usb issue or at least find a workaround for now.

Small update adds recents clear all button and removes some g-apps that are available in the play store also adds hi-res wallpapers to launcher
ROM Overhaul ......
Ok so I noticed that most of the ROMs that I have used here including my own has been recreating the wheel so I have decided to go back to my roots and make pure AOSP with only the "fixes" found here and from AOSP so my ROM has become "clean" and basically stripped of its samplings from other developers written code to pursue my own originality so if you want just a basic AOSP ROM here is where you can come.

Happy Holidays to All!!!
Running your latest build and its really smooth. I'm hoping the WiFi not reconnecting after tablet sleep bug is not present but it did take a while for it to reconnect.
Running the latest version, it resets every once in a while. Doesn't seem to be tied to any particular app or activity.
Thanks I will look into that at the moment I am in the process of updating and fixing some of the bugs I've found
Ok as an update my ubuntu partition crashed on me and I lost most of everything so I'm back to square one again ..... but I have decided to take a different path .... I see that no one has maintained a completely vanilla rom, by vanilla I mean no features, no google, just Open Source Android, so this is what I will be offering from here on out .... vanilla android with my own fixes and coding (the little that I know how to do) and I'm going open source also I have received some pm's about adding devices to my rom ... and the only devices I have are the spcs gnex and the N10 these are the only devices I will maintain for since I can't possibly troubleshoot for a device I dont have .... so for anybody that was using my rom thanks and maybe I can catch you on the vanilla side (you know after you get bored with your full featured CyOKPAMuzEOS beast roms lol)
alright I'm completely vanilla now, ROM posted in the OP also I may have corrected that wifi disconnect issue haven't had a problem with wifi sleep or random resets on my n10 so hopefully you won't either
Do you have your locations enabled and no restarts? I've been having restart issues on cm,paranoid, ect. Hoping your rom will resolve these damn restarts.

Flashed this build last evening, gesture typing doesn't seem to be working. I've tried clearing the keyboard cache/force stopping it with no luck. I even tried force stopping android system - just cause. Everything else seems rock solid.
after I uploaded the roms I realized that I enabled gesture typing but did not fix the driver .... as a temporary fix you can delete libjni_latinime.so and rename libjni_latinimegoogle.so to libjni_latinime.so it will will be addressed in the next upload

This I'd a very fast ROM. The keyboard fix worked fine. There is only one problem, the GPS doesn't work. Does anyone else have this issue?
Thanks for the great ROM!

when you say gps doesn't work can you give me more details I'm using google maps now and mine is working just fine
No satellites are in view and no signal is received from them. I've rebooted a couple of times and it still doesn't work. When I flash other ROMS the GPS works again. I really like your ROM and would prefer to run it. I've checked with GPS test plus and GPS essentials and get the same result.
Is there a log or some tool I could use to get you more information?
