Simple, yes. Have you not tried?
If your card is a micro sd made as a htc goldcard then you can
Think you placed your post in the wrong category, maybe it should have been in general(Q&A's)

No. He cannot. Goldcard have to be created for every device separate as it's made for device unique CID.
The cid is unique to the sdcard, not the phone!

My bad I never knew

Basically my Desires micro usb connector is broken and I am sending it for repair on monday.
They only asked for the phone - no battery, back or sd card - so should I return the phone to stock since I'm rooted and s-off.
What would be the best way to do this keeping in mind I can't use usb.
My desire was originally orange branded and is from the uk.
1. Download the Alpharev downgrader.zip and rename it to PB99IMG.zip
2. Orange did not release any RUU's (The things that factory reset your phone), so you will need a goldcard and a WWE (World wide english) RUU.
3. Once you've made your goldcard, extract the rom.zip. To extract the rom.zip:
[PHASE1]- we need to extract rom.zip from the RUU.
[P1/STEP1]- Run the RUU (BUT DO NOT PLUG IN YOUR PHONE OR CONTINUE), move it to the side as it cannot be minimised.
[P1/STEP2]- go to start menu, and use the "run" feature. Type in %temp%
[P1/STEP3]- select "date modified" to "today" (to make it easier to find). There are should now be 2 folders with long names of random characters.
[P1/STEP4]- search the folders for rom.zip and extract it to the desktop.
Click to collapse
4. Put the Alpharev downgrader PB99IMG.zip on your the root of your sd-card (not in any folders)
5. boot into HBOOT (NOT fastboot)
6. When you are prompted to update, select yes and wait for the process. Once completed. Poweroff.
7. Rename to rom.zip you extracted to PB99IMG.zip
8. Delete the PB99IMG.zip FROM YOUR SD-CARD, and replace it with the new one
9. Boot into HBOOT and select yes to update. The process takes a while. DO NOT INTERRUPT IT OR YOU WILL MOST LIKELY BRICK YOUR PHONE!!!!!!!
Do you have a sd reader or spare phone you can put stock system on card from computer then do it from recovery? Just a simple thought I guess

How can I make a goldcard without usb? I used to have one set up too, wish I knew what I'd done with it.
Edit: I managed to find my email containing my goldcard image from when I first rooted my phone (july 2010!) so I'll try making one with that.

you can get the CID with this (just stick your sd-card in a usb adapter ), because you want the CID of the sd-card not the phone, then just follow this tutorial, and skip the part where they get the CID.
Just a thing to point of with that tool, when you copy down the CID, do it without any spaces or commas... just the numbers/ letters
LOL just made my goldcard and I found my old one sitting right next to me! BTW that site doesn't generate goldcard images anymore http://psas.revskills.de/?q=goldcard
Edit: Update is running, wish me luck!

I want to increase the /data size and tryed to flash alpha rev's Bravo CM7 r2 img file but it wont happen.

If you already are S-off..
Than just flash cm7r2 from alpharev..
For partition of SD card... USE GPARTED LIVE ALWAYS...
Follow the instructions...
do primary fat32 partition first..
Than ext4,2,3...also primary... which ever you like or the ROM demands
It won't flash. I think its something to do with telstra branded 8131's being slightly different. Any auzzies here that can help?

The image must:
1) be on the root of SD card
2) Be name EXACTLY "PB99IMG.zip" with capital letters and everything.
It could also be corrupt so if the above is correct (not zip.zip not pb99img.zip), re download it.

I'm not a linux fan boy but I use it as I have to to build ROMS. even before ever using linux, I would definitely agree with this. Always use Gparted. Accept NO substitues.
Minitool- Piece of crap, lucky if it doesn't break things
Easeus - Ok, but EXT is not a native windows format
SD Parted - No GUI in recovery, no way to amend properly, does not align partitions
Gparted - Linux based (EXT native), Aligns partition, GUI, Stable and robust.

I would say the "voda-hutch au" one. Give it try it can't hurt. If it is wrong it will fail at the start and wont harm your phone. Be sure to back up any SD card contets to your PC first though as it is said some of the RUU's wipe the SD. Never happened to me, but I've seen posts where it has happened to others

Just been reading through the Shipped Roms thread and it seems it is in fact the correct one for Voda_Au, so make sure you have enough battery, your usb drivers are installed, boot into Fastboot and run the RUU, should be good to go

The size or speed aren't the issues. As far as I understand, your sdcard has a corrupted boot partition, which can occur when it's improperly unmounted. This prevents it from being a goldcard. A goldcard lets you flash RUUs with a different CID from yours. In this case, it would let you flash the downgrade.

No....corruption of the boot partition is due to bad habits such as pulling sdcard without proper dismounting it. You can not fix that.

NEW sdcards?? A different one is not good enough. Bad habits are hard to eradicate. Get a new one and make sure that you dismount it correctly.
I didn't really get the problem anyway u can try 2 things before u get the new sd
1: get the downloaded ROM from ur aahk folder and past it on the root of ur sdcard then get into the hboot and the phone should search and find the ROM and prompts u whether if u want to flash ths ROM or not
2: u can download the needed RUU using ur pc and the let the RUU finish everything
I hope that i provided useful and simple info....

How on earth is he going to flash a RUU on a corrupted sdcard? If you have a bad sdcard and therefore you can't make a goldcard then is useless to try to flash a ruu from fastboot. It will let you stuck on a downgraded rom with no root or S-OFF.
