Hi all,
I would like to know if a battery for Nexus is compatible with the Htc Desire?
I would like to purchase this extended battery, because 1400 mah is ridiculous for a pro user.
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/bacy32hnx1-bk.htm
Thanks for the answer!
Even if the battery was compatible (which I don't know), it wouldn't physically fit under the back cover on your Desire... They supply a replacement back cover (for the N1) with the battery, it is required because the battery is substantially thicker than the stock battery
P.
But the back cover between nexus and desire aren't the same? If the back cover for the extended battery fit on nexus, it would fit the desire too?
No, the Desire has a unibody back cover, the nexus battery cover is about half the size. So the cover won't fit
But yes, other than that, N1 batteries are compatible with the Desire. So either buy a spare 1400mAh or wait for HTC to release an extended battery for the Desire.
Ok then, I will wait for the extended battery for Desire! Can't wait.
Thanks for your answers!
I dont like to be told this my self but for once i really worked for me =)
Search and you shall finde awsome information that could save you quite abit of money

While you are waiting, why not try something like JuiceDefender or similar? The free version works for me on the Desire and extends the battery life quite noticeably.
Just a thought...

Thanks for the tip!
But no matter what I configure the power saving with software, having a big battery is more comfortable. Before having the Desire, I had a htc hero with 2200 mah battery. I can tell it can last 48 hours at least with an intensive usage (twitter update 15 min, push mail with 5 email adress, facebook update 1 hour, web surfing 1 hour per day, musique 1 hour per day). The Desire is awesome, but it can't last a day with a intensive (pro) usage.

so with heavy use , how long can i expect the battery to last me? if all day then im set. i use twtter ,facebook. mxit, listen to music a lot. read a lot. thats about it. im getting my desire this thursday
i am curious of this Seidio battery will fit, the battery is made for the incredible though, but since the desire is almost the same as the incredible.
http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BASI17HHRV&Show=ExtInfo
I'm not sure if it does fit, but Seidio are scam artists. Their batteries only have about 80-85% of the claimed capacity.
So that 1750mAh battery will clock in at about 1450mAh.

As many of the launch phones are fairly similar in terms of specs, I am wondering if battery life might actually be a larger factor in my decision to buy a WP7 device.
For example, my first instinct would be the HD7, however with the largest screen will it likely eat through the battery at a rate of knots, or is the lack of true multitasking and microsofts minimun specifications likely to help ensure the battery life exceeds many existing smart phones, such as my Nexus one (which usually only lasts a day for me).
I tend to take spec sheets with a pinch of salt, as they often don't match real world experiences, but would love to hear from any one that has had a chance to test a WP7 device themselves.
My rule of thumb is that the larger the screen, the more battery it uses since the display it's the primary drain.
However, since the HD7 is the thinnest launch phone, it could be a good candidate for an extended battery that wouldn't make it too bulky for everyday use.
The problem there, is a WP7 to me is desireable specifically because of the UI and general asthetics over my existing Android (which I feel is actually superior to WP7 in terms of functionality). Clamping a giant battery to the back would ruin that effect for me.
I'm struggling to find much comparitive information on each WP7 battery size. Any else able to find a list? I've seen a few websites that I would not normally trust indicate the HD7 only has a 1200mAh battery, which is one of the smallest of the WP7s. Surely that would be a bit of a weak chinc in the HD7s armour?
The hd7 has a smaller bathe then the Mozart, from what I see the omnia7 is the best as its soles screen and the biggest battery I have seen so far

Dell Venue pro is 3 hours or up to 7 hours talk time?
They have 2 different info from microsoft websites.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/buy/7/phones.aspx#detail=1568
The same for Samsung Focus. Because of its thin profile I am willing to believe 3 hrs of talk time over 7, which seems exaggerated.
Focus/Omnia7 are listed as 3hrs talk time? Sounds strange. I heard it had a 1500 mAh battery - coupled with the more efficient S-AMOLED screen it should have more...
HTC 7 Trophy - has a Removable and Rechargeable Lithium ion or Lithium-polymer battery, 1300 mAh.
HTC 7 Surround - has a Removable and Rechargeable Lithium ion or Lithium-polymer battery, 1230 mAh.
HTC 7 Mozart - has a Removable and Rechargeable Lithium ion or Lithium-polymer battery, 1300 mAh.
HTC HD7 has a - Removable and Rechargeable Lithium ion or Lithium-polymer battery, 1230 mAh. Small battery for such a large screen.
Samsung Omnia 7 / Samsung Focus Has a Li-ion, a 1500 mAh. (Only 8GB of storage)
Dell Venue Pro is listed as up to 7hrs talk time / 14 days standby. It's got a decent size battery and the AMOLED screen which likely helps cut down on the power consumption.
I'd wager a guess that the S-AMOLED and AMOLED phones will have the longest battery lives, so long as the OEMs don't gimp the battery inside.

Samsung's site says:
Up to 300 Hours Standby Time
Up to 6.5 Hours Talk Time
Just for reference, for the iPhone4 Apple claims:
Talk time:
Up to 7 hours on 3G
Up to 14 hours on 2G
Standby time: Up to 300 hours
The Samsungs, when using dark themes. 1500mah battery with AMOLED will last you the longest. LG with 1500mah when using light themes. Power draw of the rest of the electronics should be more or less the same, since the platforms are almost identical.
Was about to say something similar. AMOLED should be really good with WP7 as it's quite a dark OS. Those screens take a tiny amount of power to display black (and loads to display white). Combined with a 1500mAh battery and you'd expect the Samsung to do the best.
From what I can see the LG phones have the longest talk time by far (10hrs).
I also thought the AMOLED screens were supposed to be great on power consumption but Im not so sure that works in real life...the samsung phones that I can see are all rated for 3 hours which is really too little...

Omnia 7 battery life...
Talk time: 2G / 520Min, 3G / 370Min
Standby: 2G / 390hrs, 3G / 330hrs
http://www.samsung.com/uk/news/newsRead.do?news_seq=20829&gltype=localnews
I was thinking the Omnia 7 was going to be the phone to get with its 4 inch Super Amoled screen and 1500 mAh battery, But 8GB memory is just to small.
Why no 16GB version Samsung???
Well, I have never had a problem with battery life, on my Vibrant I had a pretty decent run with some sporadic use. With my G2 I had an alright run, but it had an underclocked processor so most likely that helped with the battery life... I don't know, Android has "multi-tasking" and that can hog up the battery a lot. So maybe it might hold up alright on the HD7, regardless I always carry a USB cable in my car, and a car USB adapter, just in case.

You make a good point...2G vs 3G...on MS site they show the 3G phone times for Samsung it seems but I wonder where the 10 hours come from for the LG...2G or 3G...believe it or not 6 hours(370min) is not enough for me...I know that is best case and with other things running on a smartphone it will be more like 4-5 hours...
i like win 7
Samsung's phone will most likely last the longest as it has quite a good battery and the screen uses less power than other screens.
Hi friends, I am currently using both Wildfire S(old) and Xperia UL(new). My old Wildfire S battery life is getting lower and lower. From 9am to 3pm it was drained to around 15% remaining with just light to medium usage. Thought it was battery problem so pop in an mpj 5000 extended battery purchased long time ago( I dont have to use it before). One week later, I am still very pleased with battery performance. A good option for me

I purchased this for my friend's Wildfire S, and he has no complaint at all.

I've got 3500 mAh battery and it's life changing between 24-36 hours on mobile data. Not wifi. As your guess, it's longer than 36 hours on wifi.
Hehe Like
Haha good're right, enjoy with this battery 5000mAh hah
Come back to let you guys know the battery works fine after one year, i upgraded my phone last month though.
I've own the SGS3 almost since launch day. Soon it will be 2 years old.
I'm getting 3 hours SOT and 24 hours total.
I'm thinking of buying a new original 2100 battery to see if it improves battery life. Would it?
Anyone has tried this?
Thanks.

I haven't tried it yet since I'm hopefully getting a new phone soon but I do believe it would help, maybe an extra hour SOT because I know my battery was amazing back 2 years ago and now I get the same times you do if not worse.
After a year on mine I was only getting 1700mah, So now I get a new Anker 2200mah battery every 6 months because they are just as good as original but do last longer.
Theoretically yes! battery life should improve, as you will be having a new battery.
My battery is just over a year old and i get around a 1d12h worth of battery time and roughly 3.5 to 4 hours SOT.
I recently bought a Pisen 2100mah battery off the internet and for the same SOT i got more usage. maybe 1d 20h nearing the 2d use.
n.b; wifi is always on. i use 3G for like 30 mins during a day
from what I've heard, newer generations of batteries, like ones that ship with SGS3, should not be drained to 0% with phone shutting down. it was advised to charge at low percents like 1% to 5% while phone is still on

Of course it would and if you dont have problem with size and weight i recomend you to get samsung's 3000mhA battery. Why not getting a bigger battery
It depends how old the battery is though. All Li-ion batteries degrade over time, even if they aren't used. So if you get a 2 year old battery, that has been sitting on a shelf somewhere, it won't help as much as you'd hoped. Depending on the temperature and charge level it was stored at, it could have lost a lot of its capacity.
So the trick is to get a newly manufactured battery, which isn't so easy since most sellers don't write this information.

Since a bigger battery means the battery is thicker, the original back cover wouldn't fit, then you need to use a specific cover which would make your phone heavier.
Right now I am in this trouble,I got a Onite 4500mAh extended battery with a blue cover, hopefully it's a great product, shipping as listed and battery performs exactly as listed,I just don't like the cover,it made my phone looked heavier.I was wondering maybe I should choose a power bank and put back my OEM one on.

This is true. You also need to account for your usage. If you do a lot of activity that heats your battery up (games, navigation, etc.) Then even a shelf stored battery will help since heat is another Li-ion killer.
My S3 was 2 years old in May of this year. I have been having issues with the battery and charging. My USB charging port has the classic loose connection issue as does the headphone jack. I see the fix and YouTube videos to repair but have not yet done that. I last week got my new OEM Samsung battery and the external charging kit. I just upgraded to Kitkat 4.4.2 NDA8 despite being eligible for a new phone discount from Sprint. My S3 is a 32gb unit and I will not buy a S5 with only 16gb, no way no how.
The new battery is performing very well. It is so close on updating to 4.4.2 that I can not be certain that there were not issues with my rooted 4.1.2 build after so many months. For sure the new battery is lasting longer. I think it was worth the $42.03 spent on the charger and battery as my USB port is in question and I can always swap batteries and charge with the external charger.
My S3 has a new lease on life and I can wait for new tech before upgrading. xda developers forum - root - and the desire for liberty is a powerful combination.
why not try using wireless charging? the qi reciever + charger should not cost you mote than 35 bucks. and you can still use your current battery, battery cover, & nfc, unlike powermat.

A 2 year battery will definitely be worn-out. Depending on the charging cycle count, could be only a 20%,but maybe a 50 or 70%.
I bought a Zerolemon 7000mAh battery few months a go, I'm usually getting 4-5 days on normal usage, and 11-13h of screen on.
Best bought I have ever made.
I just wanted to share my experience with a replacement battery for the Nexus 5. I bought a cameron sino brand battery and I am very happy with the results. I got 4 hours sot over 2 days, which is better than when the phone was new. I am running unofficial LineageOS 15.1. With a bit less YouTube and candycrush I think I could easily get 4.5-5 hours.
I am still having a bit of a calibration issue. You can see the battery level actually goes up towards the end even though it was not charging.

Hi, how are you getting on with this battery, it's been a few weeks since your post, are you still happy with it?
Thanks
Yes the battery is still working well. I'm not a real heavy user so I only need to charge every other day. I only lose 2-3% over night.
But this battery is same 2300 mah capacity, how is it better?
It's probably not, OP might have said so due to a different ROM (unless OP already had Nougat when he purchased the phone), or just blurry memory
I've had a similar experience with some random battery too, until I waited a month, now around an hour of YouTube nearly drains the battery completely. Let's wait some more
I bought this phone new when it came out so I was using a ~4.5 year old battery. I guess the sot could have been similar at one point, but I was struggling to get through a day before replacement. Now I'm getting two fulls days of use between charges.
It's a decent replacement option for people who do not want to get into battery modding.
