I've got a little problem when sync with google account. When I'm saving contact on the website its fine. But when I'm saving it throught the phone it saves for a minute and its disapearing. The problem only occurs when im saving to google account, not to the phone. Does anybody knows the solution for it?

I recently updated my phone to Froyo, but then I found out it wasn't synchronizing the contacts to my Exchange anymore. Mail and the calendar sync fine, but with the contacts I get an error telling me it couldn't connect to the server.
When I remove the account and recreate it, it works fine. But when I work (link to Google, edit, etc.) some accounts, the error appears again. I can't tell exactly what causes this, but I found out that when I recreate the Exchange-account, don't change anything or don't sync to Google everything works fine.
But yesterday I started syncing to Google again and now the error is back.
Does anyone know what could be the cause of this error? I already read that it could have something to do with SSL-certificates, but since it's working for mail and the calendar, I guess it's something else.
And could anyone explain how to enable the logging? I found this on the Internet: "To start Email debug logging, go to the Account screen in the Email application and type "debug" (bring up the soft keyboard, if necessary)."
But I wasn't able to get the debug-screen. Could someone explain the step above in more detail please?
I have just realised that My contacts are not syncing either since the update. I do sync also with gmail but exchange is where all my business contacts are.
If anyone else has this or finds what needs to be done to resolve it, that would be great.
Hello everyone,
I've tried to get a help on polish android forums but without a single reply. That's why I'm asking you for help guys. My problem is really really strange and I found nothing about such issue in whole Internet.
I have an issue with contacts synchronized with Exchange 2003 Server using Corporate Sync. After setting up account and initial synchronization everything works just perfect... until first reboot. After any reboot my contacts synchronized with Exchange starts to disappear. However mail and calc still synced well. Contacts don't disappear all at once but in "blocks" about 20 contacts every 30 seconds. It takes about 5-10 minutes till contact book is vanished. After all contacts disappear phone connects to Exchange server and starts to sync contacts again. Then it also takes 5-10 minutes till all contacts will shown (sync) depending on connection speed to server.
Initially I thought that after phone restart there's some issue with sync to exchange and that's why contacts are vanished and downloaded (synced) from exchange again. However when I disabled APN, WiFi and any other form of internet communication in phone and then restarted it, the scenario was excacly the same with one exception. Contacts got lost but not synced again since there was no internet communication. After that and due to nature of how contacts disappear (one-by-one, not all at once) I thought that maybe some indexing process is puring my phone book after device boot-up and I think I was not in mistake. Using some software (like Titanium backup) I've frozen com.motorola.blur.main and restarted the phone. After reboot contacts still started to vanish but in the middle of process I've de-frozen com.motorola.blur.main process and contacts STOPED to dissapear. From 624 contacts 507 was still remaing and not deleting themselves anymore. However those already deleted was not synced again at all. After that I re-created my account and all issue start over.
Sometimes after puring my phone book it can't sync again somehow and I have to even delete/add account again or disable contacts sync with exchange and enable it again.
Finally I've done hard reset of defy and start-over. The very first thing I've done after HR was to add Google and Exchange account and check if problem still persists on fresh system without any added software. Of course it still persists
For reference - Google account don't have this "issue" - only exchange have.
And now maybe the most important thing. This issue most probably happened after I upgraded my Defy from 2.1 to 2.2.2 throught official MSU (Motorola Software Upgrade). I can't be 100% sure that both things had their place in exact same time but for 80% they was. Maximum difference in time between upgrade and contacts issue is less than two weeks.
Finally it maybe some huge bug in Corporate Sync function in Froyo - OR Motorola has a huge bug in their BLUR software. Anyway it's very strange that no one reported that before. My phone is running stock firmware so it's no different like any other bought in Orange.
Hope anyone can give me any advice or help with it,
Regards
Exchange contacts every reboot of phone
Hi
did you solve this problem? I have the same issue every time I switch my phone off. Much to my demise when I went abroad without roaming data. I switch my phone on in the arrival hall and boom no contact in my exchange. Had no contact until I got back home. Disaster!
Unfortunatelly I did NOT. However I have a workaround for that. You can find on market app called TouchDown. It costs about $20 but does its job. Just disable synchronizing contacts by build-in exchange synchronization mechanism and let it do by TouchDown. The issue with TouchDown is that you have to edit/create/delete contacts from TouchDown application rather than from build-in contacts manager, otherwise it won't be synced to exchange.
Hi, I just recently purchased the HTC One from Verizon and everything seems to be working fine, except the Facebook blinkfeed. When I go to use my Facebook account my contacts and live feed sync okay but my calendar doesn't. It says that sync is currently available and to try again, and I also get authorization problem at the top of the screen. Well if I drop down the menu and click on the authorization problem, it tries to bring up facebook for a second and then close out. I then had a friend try his Facebook account and everything works fine, no issues with Facebook syncing and his posts from Facebook shows up on the main blinkfeed. So what am I overlooking here? I went into the local verizon to see if it was just my phone that might be bad, but I tried syncing up my facebook at the store and it also had the same issues.
I've tried removing my account, changing passwords, changing my email address I use to log in, I even done a factory reset with data wipe nothing works. Hopefully someone here might have experienced the same issue and knows where to try to fix it.
Thanks..
Is there an option to save contacts in the Google account by default? I saw a lot of suggestions but none of them works. Every time i add a contact it's back to 'phone' by default.
It only defaulted to phone with me the first time. Has defaulted to Google ever since.

I have the same problem. I came from Samsung Galaxy and i think it remembers where did I save contact last time.
Quick test looks to me like the default save contacts location that comes up is the last one you used.
So save to Google contacts once and next time that's the default.
Pretty old thread but anyway. I have same problems regards to contacts. Even if my first saved contact is on google, for next one it asks me again to save it on phone. Any idea how to change that?
Same here. Any solution?
Any solution please? I have the same problem. It doesn't matter where you saved the last time, it will always save to "Phone contact".
Thanks.
You might try deleting (from the phone), and then re-adding, your Google account.
Hello, i tried everything that was suggested, so far i lost dozens of contacts when upgrading to android 5.0 because i was used to saving them on my google account.
Is there any way of making the google account the default save location for the contacts on the Android 5.0 ? Is there an app that does this?
- Already tried removing and adding the google account
- Cleared data from phone and contacts app
- Show only google account contacts.
- Saving a contact on the google account and rebooting, or adding a contact on the google account and another after.
Every time i try to add a contact it defaults the save location on the phone.
When you are saving contact there is option to choose where you want to save it.
That option is missing only when you are saving contacts that someone has send them to you via Whatsapp. Then it is saved to phone memory.
Hello. I have the same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks
Hi all,
I encountered a rather specific issue, and i cannot resolve it.
I had to send my HTC 10 to service, and as a replacement i had iPhone 6.
I synced my google account on it, and normally used gmail and all contacts synced properly.
Now i returned to HTC 10 and i cannot sync back all contacts the the phone.
I am checking on web, on my gmail account, all contacts are still there, but on HTC 10, both People and google Contacts application for some reason cannot show all contact.
I tried reinstalling, resyncing, deleting app cache and data, restarting phone multiple times...
I tried also so isolate, if those contacts maybe have some fields that cause an issue on sync, so those contacts cannot be pulled on the phone, but 3 weeks ago i had them all normally on the phone....
The contacts that dont want to sync, haven't been newly created on iPhone, all those i had on my gmail account for ages now...
Any idea where to go on from here, who to contact?
Thank you, BR
I solved this problem by deactivating power saver. After a few minutes, Contacts started to sync with my Google account.
