[Q] Rooting the Desire HD

Hey guys, I am going to root my Desire HD, but Im not sure what the best method out there is currently. Could someone point me to a thread or a description on how to root in order to get custom ROMS? Thanks. I have android 2.3.3 and htc sense version 2.1

Downgrade first, then root and install a custom ROM

This is the best Guide
just pay attention
if somethings doesn't work, BELIEVE ME , you did something WRONG
and don't worry...you wont BRICK your phone..... even if you gonna get some errors....is manageable
also . i recomend you ANDROID REVOLUTION HD by mike 1986,,,is the best custom ROM

i've just rooted my LG Nitro HD and was wondering how I flash a rom and what roms are out there?

If you look in the developers section you should see....nothing....so no roms for now.

based on the vid comment, i don't think you rly want that.

no UI, flash?

Not much of a topic there maybe... But is it possible to flash any other "UIs", like sense, at galaxy nexus? I meen, because of the just clean Android on sgn.

Currently no flash Sense at SGN.

Sense isn't just a UI. Its a full ROM framework. And I don't see it happening anytime soon.

[Q] Can I have some help from an experienced/trustworthy dev?

I just ported a ROM from the T-989 to the Nexus via disxda's kitchen and I'm slightly afraid to flash it since I bricked the last phone I tried porting on (it was hand-ported). I'm not asking you to flash it, but would you please look it over for me? Message me and I'll send you the link; just don't want it to be public yet.

What did you flash to your phone to brick a Nexus is probably the more important question.

No no, I'm not bricked! That was my first attempt and it was hand-ported. I did this with the kitchen, and it's the second attempt. Haven't flashed yet... Afraid the kitchen did something wrong. Just want some advice.

Haha, refer to above. The thing I bricked with my PREVIOUS port was a T-989. This is an entirely different, GNex port I made, but have not yet tested.

Can someone at least tell me the average ROM size...

130-160 depending on if gapps are included in would say that 130 is pretty avg and 160 is with gapps.

Hi guys, I've seen that there is a Blackberry 10 lockscreen mod for JB, but I'm not sure if it can run on HTC Desire and on which ROM ..
I'm using PARANOIDANDROID v3.00+ now, is it possible to use this mod on this rom ? on another HTC Desire ROM ?

Where did you see it? If it's for another phone, then it probably has to be ported, not just simply flashed.
