Hide Duplicate SIM contacts - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Hi,
I recently bought a Tilt 2, for business purpose and serves me well. But when i copied the SIM contacts to my mobile, i see all duplicates.
I tried changing the REGISTRY as per the instructions given in one of HTC TILT forums, but only worked intially.
Now the REGISTRY setting is as disabled, but still I see Duplicates in contact list.
Any idea how to hide these SIM contacts on HTC TILT 2/Touch Pro 2.?
Thanks,
Bijoy

SIM Contacts in contacs

Hello,
I noticed that after upgrading, all SIM contacts are also present when
viewing contacts. I also noticed that it is now possible to synchronize
the contacts with the SIM contacts.
Contacts > Menu > SIM Manager > Menu > Tools > Contacts to SIM
Currently, my SIM contacts were added manually on the card.
If I were to remove them all from the SIM, and set "contacts" to
synchronize to the SIM, will the SIM contacts still show up in the
contacts list (or does it know they are synchronised, so it doesn't repeat
them)?
(a downside I see to this is that the SIM contacts can only be 14
characters in length, so the mark for home/mobile/work won't show up for
the majority of contacts; whereas I can force this when managing the SIM
contacts manually)
If they still show up, is there a way to only show contacts present on the
phone (not those on the SIM)? I gather it is possible by adding all
contacts to a group, and filter on this group; but is there an easier way?
Thanks!
Jörg

I remember with HTCustom 1.7 from Shadowmite, you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307873, you can disable the SIM contacts even exsits on the SIM, so you only see your PDA contacs.
Regards.
Hey VJ,
Before I had my Hermes I always used the SIM contacts. Now I have push e-mail with my company's exchange server I only use my exchange contacts.
I have read a thread of a guy who is selling for 20$ an exchange account on his own server.
Maybe this is an solution for you.
I have past week flashed my device about 6 times. In each case I'm up and running with all my settings in about 5 minutes. And thats because I'm not so fast.........
So the exchange push mail/contacts is working perfect for me!
Regedit this mate (taken from wiki):
Show/Hide Sim Contacts:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Phone]
"ShowSIM"=dword:00000001 ->0 to disable, 1 to enable
The rest of the wiki's reg tweaks are on the same page. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry Enjoy.

how to hide sim contacts in contacts

hey guys, just a simple question, i finally backed my contacts up on my sim card but now they are showing up on the contacts as well as the original contact entry. how do i disable sim contacts from showing up? many thanks.
holla
I had the same issue.. I noticed that on the kaiser advanced config tool, there is an option to "hide contacts". It actually worked a couple of times for me but I eventually just deleted my contacts off of the sims card and started syncing via exchange server or windows PC. You may want to give it a try though. The cab was called "Advanceconfig.cab" If anyone else wants to add something please do. I would be interested in hearing more as well. I was just disappointed that you cannot back up all your information such as E-mail addresses to your sim. That is why I started using Exchange.
shaps advanced config tool has option for you
I belive that is the program that I have used. It is a great all around congig tool in my opinion.
Show SIM Contacts
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone" name="ShowSIM
0 = No
1 = Yes

Thank You it works

SIM Contacts

I am using NRG Rose Rom v1.7 - Remade by Ricky and Stylez, the problem I have is I would like to keep a backup of all my contacts on the SIM. The contacts now show up as duplicates because there is one on the SIM card and on the phone. My brother has a HTC Hermes and there is an application that's lets his configure his phone so he can hide the SIM contacts from his contacts. I don't have this program and the closest thing to it would probably be the registry editor. Anyone know how to hide the SIM contacts in the contacts.
Edit
Never mind I figured out how to do it. In case anyone is interested the option is in Setting -> Phone -> Call Options -> De-select Show SIM Contacts

Sorting out the contacts list

Just got the HTC Desire this weekend on Orange. Transferred all the contacts over from my old phone and SIM no problem. Then I linked to my Facebook profile and it pulled all my Facebook friends in to my contacts list alongisde the contacts from my old phone.
Also for some reason one (maybe more) of the contacts from my sim has disappeared from the front contact list and is only visible if I then go through to people?
Is there anyway I can have the People list as my main contacts list when I click Phone?
This is my first smartphone by the way. The phone before this was a Sony Ericsson K800i. So it's a big leap.
i had the same problem and am also a 1st time smartphone user i just ended up putting them all into google contacts
Ah cool.
For now I've just put a shortcut to People on the homescreen which I'll use as contacts.

[Q] Suggestions/recommendations on how to organise contacts?

Hello all
It's been quite some time since I got my HTC Desire and it's awesome! However, one thing that nags me quite a bit is the 'contacts' section... my 'contacts' is a total mess.
I seem to have contacts from three places
SIM Card
Google
Facebook
The phone seems to be smart enough to link Google/Facebook accounts (at least a good majority of them), however SIM numbers seem to be "isolated" (even with same name and number as a Google contact, there is no way to link/associate them).
At the moment, I've resorted to hiding SIM contacts, however this isn't ideal since not all my Google contacts have phone numbers...
So apart from sifting through Google contacts and matching to SIM contacts to add phone number, do you guys have suggestions to efficiently make the contacts/people list less of a mess?
Thanks!
pyko
edit: I'm using a Mac so HTC Sync isn't an option for me...
Export sim numbers and important in google contacts. After this, hide sim contacts. Now, sync your contacts with google and facebook. So i do it and i am very happy with it.
Cool thanks Worked well. Still got a few duplicates, but I guess at least this way all the numbers I need should be easily accessible.
SIM export seems to have formatted mobile numbers weirdly, but will live.
Thanks!
