Does anybody know how you can add more frames to Camera on the HTC S620. Ive just come back from holiday and when I was using the Camera for a few "fun pix" I was greatly dissapointed in the lack of choice... basicaly it only had four week frames to choose from. So as soon as I got back I went about getting some more frames for my phone.... which I found, but my phone cant find them. Ive already tried adding a "Frames" folder to "My Documents" both on my phone and the storage card but yet the phone doesnt recognise any of the frames. Anybody else have this problem or even better can anyone else give me instruction on how to get it to work?
if anybody wants to know the Camera Software im using is the Camera for Smartphones version 4.52 that came pre installed with the phone as I dont want to be having more than one installed.
Just out of curiosity, what's a fun frame?
I knew the camera software on the Dash could do "effects" like sepia or negative. Never heard of the above.
I am in the same boat, what exactly is a "fun" frame just wondering?
oh, I assumed all the HTC S620's had all the same basic software I wasnt aware that Frames wernt available on all models.
What I mean by fun frames is like Magazine Covers which you select and take a picture with the frame on top of it.
The four that come with the BT ToGo version which I have is one which has two magazine covers on (you take two pictures and they get put into the frame), a cartoony spikey frame, one which looks like a notice board with two pictures on and finally a folding frame that holds three pictures...
the problem is that they are too specific like the memo on the notice board say "I love you" on one and "happy birthday" on the other... and the three way folding frame has love hearts on so it isnt like you can use them on any occasion.
...Picture Themes, thats what they are!!! Mabey I would have got more response if I posted under that.
Yea this is a ROM specific function. I remember having this on my T-Mobile SDA. You could have images pre drawn on the screen with a spot in the middle of the screen so yo could take a picture and use the template around the picture. For example: i had one that was a template of bubbles, snorkle and face mask, and if you got the picture aligned properly you could make it look liit the person you wrre taking a pic of was wearing the snorkel and mask and look like they were underwater. Kinda cool effect. I never noticed this feature on the DASH though.
edit: i just found the templates on WM 6.1 , but the four that are preloaded are pretty lame.
Aaaaahhhhh, never mind Ive found out how you do it...
the trouble was BT never provided me with a manual with the phone, its all done online in PDF format now. But after trawling through the PDF I eventually found out how to add extra frames -
Template Folder (Picture Theme only). By default, templates are
stored in the \My Documents\Templates folder on the device’s Main
Memory. If you transferred some templates to a storage card (via File
Explorer), set this option to Main + Card to specify that templates are
located in both the main memory and the storage card.

so thats where I was going wrong, I had read somewhere that the folder had to be called Frames... when that didnt work I renamed it Template when all along it should have been Templates.
Thanks anyway.

do you have any templates to share?
Templates
Here you go.
Uh, I know it's not rocket science, but my upload keeps failing, I was trying to upload a few templates that I have for the DASH, Excalibur, etc.
Yeah I have found one or two good ones, I will try and post them sometime today
A couple of Wako Jacko's from BoSelecta (one just does the face while the other takes the face and background)
a Shrek and Fiona and a Wanted poster for now...
I think the frames from Sony Ericson phones should work (320x240) so im going to see if I can find them on my girlfriends phone and copy them onto my excalibur. The Sony Erricsons have some great fun frames and to be honest a really good camera built into their phones.
Does the frame need a special neme or extension?.
In Which folder need to be placed?
PS: Sorry my bad English

Thanks amigo!
This is a great forum, thank you every body!
Basically my camera functions, i can see what id like to take a picture of on the screen, but when i save the picture i took, the image is scrambled lines of color. if i transfer those picture files to my computer they look the same, scrambled. So if the camera functions and theyre saving scrambled on my phone im assuming its a software issue with htc's built in camera app and i do not look forward to a hard reset.
I know its been asked before because i just did a ton of research, but is the camera cab file for the rhodium, more specifically the AT&T Tilt 2 available online anywhere, does anyone have it or a way to extract it? Id be incredibly grateful for your help, thanks for your time and efforts in advance.
actually i stand corrected. it is taking pictures properly, because i just went into HTC Album, and the pictures look perfect. In touch flo3d they look scrambled, and i even went into file explorer and saw scrambled photos. so maybe this is a random occurence? but they still always appear distorted in everything else but HTC Album. Now im lost. definite software issue, i still have a feeling the camera cab file would work, unless its touch flo3d corrupt. opinions?
nope. only the thumbnails in HTC Album look perfect, when you tap on the thumbnail the picture full sizes into the scrambling im talking about. definitely an interesting software issue.
anybody? is there a newer version of the HTC Camera cab thats is easy to find and will work? or does someone think its not the camera app? suggestions?
At the moment they are labeled as "Image/video1" etc.
is there a way to change the file name when a picture/video is taken so that its labeled as the date.
its something that my G1 used to do.
Any helps appreciated.
+1 I would find this useful
i guess either no-one knows or it cant be done.
did anyone found a solution to this one ??? i doubt i am the only one that wants his photos named with dates
Add me on to the list. Still seeking...

I am looking for an app that will automatically change the lockscreen photo to a random photo in the pictures directory. If anyone has information please help me out. Thank you
Is this possible yet?
There isn't one yet that I've seen or heard of. It may be due to limitations of having access to overwrite the applied wallpaper. I definitely would love to have this function back too.

If you enable the artist background on the lock screen it will change but that's it.
It is possible but requires higher privileges (non-standard).
Overwrite the current file in "\Wallpapers" (my current is named "cwpDE4C.jpg")
Quite easy done, altho nobody has coded that part ^^

Well I hope someone does, I think a lot of people would be interested, just my thoughts though. Obviously if I had any knowledge I would try myself, sadly not my expertise. I can teach anyone who wants to learn a great hook shot on the basketball court however
Change the default filename for photos taken with the camera!!
Does anyone know how i can change the taken images from the camera to be named according to the date like yyyy_mm_dd or yyyymmdd cause the way it does name them image## is not good for me cause i take different kind of pics...i have them organized into folders and when i put them there the camera will take again pics with the same counter and i should rename them manually...i'd like to have them named according to date cause this way they are arranged better too....
there was a cab fix for HD2 that added this as an option....is there anything equivalent for wildfire S???
p.s. just bought mine and haven´t unrooted it yet. So far.
Don't know how to change this format :/
PS. You've got to wait for root.
