Question: what's the best option for SMS settings found here...
>Settings>Connections>Advanced Network>SMS Service
SMS Over: (drop down list)
GPRS
GSM
GPRS preferred
GSM preferred
Mine is currently on GSM... is that the best option or should I select another option?
Thanks!
i'm pretty sure AT&T only supports SMS over GSM so your setting is fine.

Hello all,
I'm trying to force my SMS messages over Verizon's IMS service but with no luck. Normally, the an SMS is sent using the CDMA network. I tried setting the 'LTE Only' option in the hidden menu (*#*#4636#*#*), but even with that enabled the SMS fails to send and the logcat shows the phone trying to acces the disconnected CDMA network. I've enabled the 'SMS over IMS' option within this menu as well.
I know that with LTE there are two options for SMS. One is to send through LTE NAS signalling (SG LTE), but this doesn't seem to be implemented by Verizon or the phone since it resorts back to sending over CDMA. The second is SMS over IMS which is what I'm interested in, but through my initial investigation it doesn't seem like the Galaxy Nexus supports this.
Any thoughts or knowledge in the matter?
Thanks
I was wondering if there is a possibility if there are apps with a function that blocks calls based on receiving simcard.
For my specific situation I have 2 simcards in my Oneplus 3. Sim1 is without data. Sim2 is for with 4G data.
Now during my holiday I would like to make use of calling via Sim1 without data, but only use the data from Sim2, without the possibility of being called on the Sim2.
I was wondering if you guys ideas to make this happen, thanks in advance!
You can bar incoming calls on any specific sim in the call settings.
Go to dialer. Tap. The 3 dots options menu on the top right. Go to settings > calling accounts > click on the sim on which you wish to bar incoming calls. Choose call barring and then from off put it on all.
That should work. But this might be network dependent. I mean this sends a request to your service provider. And it happens at their end. If your service provider allows this. It should work fine.
Hi,
I have a couple of questions about the stock dialler on OP3 running 3.5.4 CB.
1. When using 2 SIMs, Can we select the default SIM for a out going call for contacts at one go ?
Currently when I select the number for a call, a pop up (Call with ) shows up with option to select one of the two SIMs and a check box to "Always use this for calls" lets me do that. I would like to know if this can be done somewhere else, say at the contact detail level? how would i change the option once set using the current method?
2. In the Dialler, what does All calling accounts setting do? clicking on it shows a blank screen. Is it related to SIP accounts?
Dialler -> Settings -> Call settings ->All calling accounts.
Cheers.

That is for all outgoing calls. I am looking at setting default SIM1 for some contacts and SIM2 for others.

You need an app to do that.
I use "Dual SIM Selector" and it works pretty well.

Anyone on T-Mobile with the 5z? I have sketchy incoming voice and sms services with excellent signal. Missed calls and sms that just doesn't show up. I've tried auto config in carrier settings and manually selected T-Mobile US LTE for the apn. No difference.
I have this phone also on tmobile here in the US, no issues what so ever.

I have used it on T-Mobile without issues for 4 month. Before that I was on Metro PCS which is T-Mobile light and also a stint in Europe using T-mobile networks there - all with no problems.
I suspect GV is the culprit since zen ui doesn't allow configuring voice mail from anything other than "carrier".
I wonder if that changes in 9.0
Thanks for the replies.
I have the same.issue sometimes I get missed calls and texts it's not often maybe once or twice a week. I was going to try getting a new sim card to see if that helps

This issue continues...anyone using Google Voice successfully on this platform with T-Mobile? I just use GV for voicemail and some occasional sms on my GV number. Kinda sucks as I've missed some important calls and texts.
Good evening everyone.
I would like to know, if anyone knows, why my S20 Ultra does not allow me to enter text in the "APN Type" field (Default, dun, etc.), but it only lets me SELECT some modes (MMS, Internet + MMS, Internet ).
Thanks to anyone who can give me an answer and, possibly, a solution.
Thank you.
works fine for me if you "add" an APN and not edit the one that's already enabled
Thx for your replay.
Not working for me...
