From the settings it seems the maximum is only 30 mins
download power manager from the market, does exactly what you want
customize the 'connected to pc' settings to set the screen timeout to Never only for when connected to pc
perfect for your situation.
is that I think before root did not change anything and when connected to pc always stayed on, having someone with the original rom without a router you can confirm, thank you very much anyway mate
settings>applications>development
put a tick in the box for "Stay awake" and the screen will not turn off while plugged in or charging
Oleeee ,many thanks mate I was going crazy looking for how to do it. eres un crack.
thanks, topic closed

is there a way to prevent the locking of the device while the AC-or USB adapter is connected and loading?
I don't know if there's something that does that "automagically"...
You can, still, turn on the "stay awake" option in Settings -> Applications -> Development.
Or, use No Lock widget when the phone is connected.
Oh yeah. Thats it. I thought I had already checked that option. Obviously not. Thanx again.
Problem solved
Hello, everyone.
Well...3 days ago it was raining in my city and I was talking with the Defy on the streets, the phone fell to a puddle in the sidewalk, I just picked it up and kept talking, but then I saw there was some fog and little drops of water inside the screen, though the phone was still working perfectly. The next day the fog was still there and the phone was working, but later that day the screen just didn't turn on and the LED was always turned on in red (but I could see the screen items under high light and I managed to see something in the notificacion bar like "new electronic device recognized"). In order to remove the fog I took the battery off and put the phone under my laptop, so the low heat would vaporize the remaining water and maybe the screen would work again.
Now I have the phone with no fog but the screen is still not working, though I can turn on the phone and it vibrates when I press the capacitive keys and it sounds when someone calls and that stuff, it's just the screen isn't working, all black, like missing the retroilumination. The red LED is always on. So I thought of sending it for repairment, but I can't flash any sbf, as I didn't had USB debug mode enabled the RSD Lite says "unable to retrieve initialization values from INI file (0x7029);phone connected". Can I enable the usb debug mode via adb shell?
The phone is rooted, using JBoogie3 Blurless Honey, it's a Vodafone Spain.
TL;DR version: phone got into a puddle, screen stopped working, red LED always on, can't flash any SBF to send it to repair because usb debug mode is not enabled and can't enable it since I can't see the things that are on the screen.
I'll love for ever the one who can lead me to a solution. Thanks in advance, please help, I'm desperate.
PS: The phone was closed and the rubbers on the sides (headphones and usb) were closed too. Sorry for the long post.
i can try and guide you to the usb debug on of settings if you want
That'd be helpful, any screencaps would be awesome. I think there was no scrolling to do in Settings tab nor in applications, therefore, easier.

first thing first can u get into the settings? if not wat launcher do u have?
GoLauncher EX..I think settings is in the right low corner when you hit menu key in the homescreen..
ok once ur in the settings press near the botton of the screen so the last selection, then turn ur screen sideways and select the last box again to go into development however this time press about 0.5 - 1cm above the botton of the screen. once you in development select get a ruler and from the top of the screen not the fone press at 1.5cm. that should then enable usb debug. if you need any more help just ask or if something does not make sense
Will try several times..but I can't lose time rebooting everytime I try, anyway I can check if debugging is enabled trough adb or something? >.<

I installed this ROM. Looks great! But... I cant turn the Internet connection off! I want to turn it off especially for night, but if I go to Comm Manager and turn it off, few seconds later (especially when return to HOME screen) it connects again.
I have all updates set as manual, so no idea why...???
Help! Thanks

there is a setting for timeout for disconnect.
My WiFi doesn't seem to connect to saved hotspots until the screen is turned on. Whenever I get to work or back home and I don't turn on my phone; a couple hours later when I actually turn on the screen it connects. Does anyone else have this issue or know what might cause it? I'm not using any power saving apps or any apps that affect my network.
Try going into Settings-> Wifi -> Click menu button and select "Advanced" and make sure "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" is set to always.

can anyone else verify this happens for them too? I have tried a complete format/wipe and loaded a stock 7105 rom and am still having the issue.
Maybe if you have power saver on, it does that? I know it's lot listed under what it's done, but you never know (;
Other than that, I can't think of anything other than keeping WiFi on during sleep.

it's off :< My roommate's S3 and my other roommate's N4 both auto connect without touching the phone. Once you turn the screen on it's already connected to wifi while mine is on edge until I power on the screen.
The only reason this is an issue is that I use grooveIP for calls through data, so if I have no reception here (i.e. no data) I won't be able to reliable receive calls unless I remember to power on my screen every time I come home.
Hi peoples, I'm new here.
My htc one is broken but everything still work fine, boot up like normal, the problem is i can't c anything at all. I try to control my phone through a usb stick, but it required me to turn the USB debugging on, the problem is i can't c a thing on the phone.
Is there a way to turn it on from my PC?
P.S my phone is rooted, using mike revolution hd 13.3
Thanks in advance.

that's good. you should at least be able to turn usb debugging on. have you tried to get to the bootloader or recovery? does the screen look the same there? if so...
unlock the phone, use two fingers to pull the notification bar down, 1 inch down on the top right side is settings, tap settings, scroll to the very bottom and tap dev options, usb debugging is at about the middle of the phone.
i hope the below images will work for you. i just pulled them off of google searches. i havent used mikey's rom so i dont know if the settings are in the same places but it cant hurt to try

nope, unless you already enabled dev options you have to go into about phone, software, and tap a million times on one of the lines of info to unlock dev settings.
Then you can turn on usb debugging. Quite annoying.
