Whathappens if you leave the text screen..... like go over to the email tab then back to the text... can you see the texts that you've sent then?
nope. but if i delete all my texts, then go back and send someone a text, then i can see them.

Any help would be aapreciated on this:
Anytime I rejected a call with text message, it is always sent as a MMS as against been sent as a text message (SMS) and since my plan does not include MMS usuage, I always get charged for the service.
I uses this functionality a lot as I normally reject calls with text messages anytime I am in a meeting.
I remember correctly that messages used to be sent as an SMS in 6.1 roms and few of 6.5 roms I have used sometimes ago.
Can anyone help on this?
Cheers
on my phone it doesn't even work. i configured it so when i reject a call my phone should send a sms, it never does. instead of that i receive a sms: you have 1 missed call.
no, i did not miss that call, i rejected it!
big difference.....

Mine does work but I will get charged as it would have been sent as a MMS message, it is annoying because I know it can be sent as a SMS message and for free.

I think the latest rom / manilla has fixed this issue. I currently use "grzegorz10's" and I can send sms without been charged.

Hope this help
same thing as in the other thread, no need to bump this and advertise an app, that is not even for this OS. post deleted.
Well basically I am getting charged for some of my text messages and I do not know why.
If I send a long text message will it send as a MMS???
THanks ... this is with T-Mobile
You need to speak to tmobile.
The manual says that an SMS will automatically be converted to an MMS if "very long", but not how long. Can you visually tell when this happens?

Just like when you add a word tot he dictionary it will appear eith "Converting to MMS ..." once it is too long.
if memory serves, it's somewhere between 3 and 5 SMS messages in length where it changes to an MMS.
I always though 5 was the max for text messages on any phone. Then it breaks it down into seperate messages.

it just sends it as an MMS and i get charged by T-Mobile 17p every time that happens!

I will experiment and find out!

Happened to me last week, NOT COOL!
is there a way around this ?
like a config option or something like that ?
is this specific to the desire or android ?
This is standard behaviour for all Android devices, and it applies to the stock messaging app. The reason for this, is that if you are going to send more than three SMSes, it will in most cases be cheaper to send an MMS. This does not of course apply when you have unlimited texts or other discounts.
Until this gets fixed, download a replacement from the market. Try chompSMS or Handcent SMS. The automatic conversion is optional in these.
ah ok
hope this gets fixed fast
using an alternative sms program such as handcent sms or chomp sms gives you the option to break up long text messages into seperate texts instead of converting to mms
Anyone having issues sending SMS texts? Seems like I try and send one and it just hangs and says NOT SENT but the recipient gets the text anyways???

I have also seen that, but pretty rarely. 1/1000
Any common occurrences, with specific contacts? Have u tried the native sms app?

Yes it works via the stock sms app.......I have figured out the issue it is just when I am near my home that it occurs other than that it works. Thank you for the response though.
Once in a blue moon. Stock sms was more stable/reliable over the time I've been on android. Just recently went back and tried it but too buggy for me

Happens to me ALL the time. Granted, I send like 300 texts a day, lol.
Btw, mine happens anywhere and with everyone =/. It's getting slightly annoying.
Or is it my ROM? People will send texts but I won't receive them, and on the website of T-Mobile, it doesn't show their texts under incoming texts

U not receiving texts could be many things. But as for the texts not showing up on your account....they don't show up because u never opened them. As far as I know, unless you tap to open the message it does not count as a received messaged.
The reason I believe this is true - if you don't have unlimited texts, someone who does have unlimited text (or money and time) could send you a bazillion (that's with a b) texts and you would be forced to pay for them against your will. Makes sense?
Hope this helped

Here is the deal I can send SMS text but I can't receive them.
I can get MMS texts and send them.
I can only receive text from Sprint.
I tried factory reset, network reset , multiple time and get same issue.
I can't sign in to my Google, because I have double verification, via text only.
Anybody have an idea how to fix this ?
Thanks
