start>settings>profiles>menu>edit ...then you configured it at your own choice.
I meant my notifications volume doesn't work, my notification volume is my ring volume, the notifications volume does nothing.
*Update* it seems all my volumes are my ring volume, every volume is controlled by the ring volume. The ring volume seems to be acting like a "Master Volume" for all the other seperate volumes.

I have the tilt 2 running the energy rom and my ring volume was fine until I installed MS Voice Command now the ring volume is so low I can barely hear it sometimes... I uninstalled voice command but it didn't solve the problem. Do anybody know what I need to do to increase my volume besides hard resetting?
there some regedits that will do exactly what you want. Do a search for increase ring volume and you should find what your looking for
I've had this happen on RC2 as well...
After I've put the volume all the way down (vibrate only mode) and then turned the volume back up, none of my notification sounds will play. When I get sms/email the vibrate will go off but not the tone. I've checked Handcent and GMail settings and they both have a tone selected. However, once I get a txt/email, only vibrate no sound. My call ringtones, volume up/down, apps, music..etc works, but no notification.
Anyone help?
Grab Audio Guru from the market. It lists out all the system sound modes and lets you control all six of them individually. I had this happen once and found one of my sound controls set to zero. Used the slider in Audio Guru to increase it to max, problem solved.
Does anyone know how to make the ring and notification volume the same without having to adjust both in the settings?
It's really annoying to have my ring volume turned down, only to get a really loud text message notification shortly after.
Download Quick Settings from the market, it has an option to link the Ringer and Notification volumes so they work together. I never understood why they weren't controlled together in the first place.
Worked great thanks.

Cool. Thanks!
Thanks for the help. This must be a samsung thing because all the HTC phones I owned had an option to link notification and ring volume.
So I'm on moar V 5.0; how can I link the ringer volume with notification volume?
Love this rom but hate that only ringer volume goes up when using your volume keys. I never even turn up ringer, I by habit am thinking I'm turning up notifications, which I am sadly not. I have to go and manually do it.
Is there a way to link the 2?

since nobody else responded i'll give it a shot. i think (i've switched from moar so i'm going by memory) if you go system settings>sound>volumes in the middle of that pop up menu there is a checkable box that links them
hope that helps
Is there seriously no way of setting individual volume levels for the ringtone and the notifications in vanilla android?!
Click volume rocker and the last volume change slider will appear. Click the drop down arrow on right side of slider and you can change individual volumes.
Sorry misread. I don't believe there is a way to change notification and ring separately
Is there a way to do it without root?
I like my notification volume reasonably quiet without it impacting the ring volume.
Sound profile in play store works well
