I'm working on bloatware removal, and I'm trying to work a few things out.
One, I don't use Rosie, so is that ok to remove? Similarly, if I don't use Rosie, are any HTC widgets necessary for other dependencies especially weather, settings, or contact? Also, if weather widget is gone, is there any need for Weather?
Two, I use the HTC facebook for contact syncing and picture updating and such. Is FriendStream or SocialNetworkProvider interdependent with it? If so which or both?
Three, I saw that you can remove CheckinProvider and Clicker, what do those do and is there any risk with removing them?
Four, I have the 3d gallery or whatever it is, but I've read something somewhere about gallery removal breaking the camera. Is it if you don't have a gallery at all, or if I remove the HTC gallery?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm curious if anyone already has knowledge here. If no one answers, I'll tinker and find out things myself, but it could save me some time if someone already knows these things and would let me know.
EDIT: one further question, is SetupWizard required? I know the one with HTC prefixed isn't, but is the regular one for any reason required?
I was wondering if any of the roms have anything similar to the way htc people app syncs its contacts with your facebook contacts.
Only tried a couple of roms and i cant find a way of linking a contact to a facebook page.
Sorry if a bit of a nooby question i was just curious as this is in my eyes is one of the best things about htc sense.
Hello all,
1) a small annoying topic for me. Can somebody help me with switching off the service which is "matching friends" for me. I have no use for this, do not understand what it does and keep ignoring the requests for doing so. Is there a way to kill this process once and for all.
FYI
I am not using any contacts in google. I have my contacts synchronized with our exchange server through touchdown and !! once more !! through teh HTC exchange account. I have NOT been copying the contacts fro touchdown towards the phone as this process happened to have failures (it did not copy all pictures). The synchronizing process is working great, I have all my contacts where I want them, but I keep getting this annoying request.
2) Non related to this, but just out of pure interest. What is the easiest application allowing me to reply on (and keep track off) forum threads with a Desire HD if the traffic is limited. No time or realistic way to do this with Opera.
best regards,
Ruud
Sounds like you need a custom rom away from sense..Cyanogen is amazing with launcher pro..

Search XDA on the Android Market, they have their own Tapatalk app which works great with these forums.
Hey guys,
I know this problem has been posted several times, but since there's no solution yet, I wanted to try it again.
The problem is, that every HTML-Email is displayed way too big in the HTC mail app.
I've tried to change the size-setting to "small" but that didn't work.
Please, Please help me. :crying:
This bug is so annoying, that I even thought of bringing the HOX back and using my old Desire HD again.
Greetings,
oberbapti

Just out of Curiosity is the e-mail account you've linked to it a Hotmail account?
As I'm sure this is a hotmail related issue, because I've seen it asked alot, and many people say it only happens with a Hotmail account.
If it is a hotmail account, perhaps you could log into hotmail from a pc, and try to change your font sizes their etc, then see if that in turn funnels down to your HTC Hotmail ?
I HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE !!

Thank you for your reply. No it's a gmail-account. I got a gmx.net-account too, so this problem
is not account related. I hope there's a solution.

I spoke to somebody from HTC and they are completely denying the problem.
I pointed them to one of the hundreds of reports of this on google and here etc, and he said there was nothing they could do.

There is thread somewhere with a zip file with smaller fonts for the HTC One X.
I, too, think that the fonts on this phone are way too big; however, this is a Sense thing because when used with an AOSP/AOKP/CM10 ROM, the font size is just fine.

jason
I thought so...
Hey guys, thanks for your help =)
I thought that HTC would deny the problem as they always do. Maybe I can reach someone at HTC elevate.
@Quiksilver78, can you tell me where to find the .zip file? Thank you :good:
I have t-mo m8 converted to unlocked and I cannot get multiuser to work it just shows up in settings but when I choose add user it gives me setup has stopped errors.
Please if anyone knows a way let me know the fix. Thanks
Update= I removed HTC setup wizard and then tried to add user. It worked just had to manually add gmail account. Only bad part is when playing games or in some apps won't allow to pull up navigation keys.
I'm pretty sure I'll find a way. Mods can delete this thread. As all the views and no replies seems no-ones interested. Thanks
