They haven't "locked" anything. The ram is in use by system critical processes and services. The 448MB is the only ram available for the user to address.
On first boot you will have only about 256MB free anyway with all the widgets that come stock on the phone's homesceen.
Do you mean for apps? Because I had 140mb after a factory reset. They use the rest of the 512 for Android?
edit:/ Hmm, but that is about ROM.. so never mind.. Dunno about the ram part, although the game asphalt huffs and puffs alot. Which really should not be the case with a 1ghz processor...
Thanks for clearing that up abc27..

You're getting confused with ROM.
ROM =/= RAM
They are two completely different things.

how can i increase my internal memory without rooting my phone?and please dont suggest me sdk platform tools method pminstalllocation 2,its only for 2.2 android.
Thr is no way to increase internal memory without rooting.
Cus link2sd,data2sd everythings required root so its not possible.
Y u don wan to get root to ur phone ???

With Mini partition tool wizard make a 1 GB EXT3 or EXT4 partition(backup all data of your sd card on computer) and download an app called Link2SD
This app transfers all your apps in the EXT partition.....leaving you with more free space
All the other techniques require root so this is your only choice

I have tried a number of custom ROMs for my a100. I have the 16GB U.S. model of the tablet. All the ROMs work but it seems none of them will allow my to use the 16GB of storage.
I understand some is used for the OS but every ROM I have tried shows 5.3GB free. I was thinking I should have about 12.XGB free.
On the 16GB model is the extra 8GB of storage mounted in a separate folder?
Thank You.

Maybe, we would need either a dump or some pulls from your original stock ROM to check out.

After copying TWRP, 4.4.3, stock backup files to a memory stick, I notice some of the files sizes are slightly different. Only by a few kb's.
Copied directly to memory stick from phone because in the past I've noticed that if you copy to, windows, laptop and then to stick, some files "disappear".
Question is...... can anyone tell me why files sizes are slightly different AND, bearing that in mind, is it safe to delete backup from phone ?
Thanks

It's likely only how Windows vs android is calculating the size.

Ok, cheers.
Best thing to do to be sure, is try restoring with one of them. Wouldn't want to find out they are corrupt when you really need them.
Just be sure you have an untouched backup on your device, before restoring from the copied over one.

You should return it, that's not right...
afaik, there is no LG G4 H81X variant with 2GB ram, return that thing back.
u are sure that you are not referring to the "used ram" ? make a screenshot of the settings entry
.

Had to sleep some hours..
The g4 has 3 GB of RAM. Yours not. So it seems you have not a "normal" g4 sorry.
I mean you could try to reinstall stock and see if it still showing 2 GB in cpuZ but that's very likely the case. I mean that would mean the installed ROM screwed up the correct display of the RAM and that would be very very odd (not impossible though)... Give it a try and if it still showing 2 GB make an exchange as fast as you can..

You should return the phone to the place of purchase. The only problem is that you rooted your device, meaning you have no warranty. They will probably reject your return for modifying the product. Try to find a method of locking your bootloader (I assume you have it unlocked) and flash the official stock firmware. Also make sure you dont have anything that suggests the phone was once rooted like folders or files (although that should get removed when flashing the stock firmware).
Bring it back to the retailer and pray to God you get accepted
Even your storage is low, as far as I know all G4 have 32gb internal storage.
Going to try stock
Tried stock. Had a backup
Same thing
Should I try flashing the image instead with lg bridge? Or am I wasting my time
Lg suggests it is a hardware problem (confirmed serial numbers as original)
