Can anybody link me to the HTC Album 2.5 WVGA cab?
All I seem to find are VGA and QVGA versions and am desperate for the WVGA for my touch HD or even a fix.
Thanks in advance, any help is much appreciated

Not working
Thanks but when I install this and try to use it I get a message saying.
"Unable to invoke Pictures %c Videos application. Please make sure Pictures %c Videos application has been installed on your device."
Any idea how to fix this?
Also It was the HTC Album 2.5 (the one with facebook and youtube upload) that I was looking for.
What is the advantage of this? I'm not familiar with it, but it sounds interesting.
the 2.5 album is pretty much the same as the 2/2.1 version. the advantage of this over the stock version is smoother panning around pictures when zoomed in and smoother transitions (slides are now real time, not animations). you lose the ability to control how much you zoom though.

Thanks for the info. Hmm, then maybe I already have that version. I am using Dutty's Holy Grail R2 ROM (Leo style) for the HD. My album uses double-tap to zoom once and there is no way to control how much you zoom. The stock ROM from Nov. 2008 had an album version where a circular touch zoomed in. The size of the circle determined the amount of zoom.

Sounds like you have the 2.5 album then. I would stick with the stock version personally, given that you can zoom but the new version is so much smoother!!

Hey everyone, just new to XDA, got my TP2 from telus 2 days ago. It has been awesome so far. Anyhow.....
Ive got a bunch of low res java games that ive been playing on the newest release of Jbed ( 20090217.5.1 ). The problem is that on the amazing TP2 screen, the games are TINY (about 1/10 of the screen).
Im wondering if there is a way to play these games in a larger mode. Im wondering if any of these work-arounds exist:
- a version/plugin of Jbed that allows fullscreen /zooming
- a hack that allows the TP2 zoom feature to work in programs like Jbed
- an alternate KMV that has a zoom feature
- program to change the TP2 screen resolution (NOT like wvga fix that turns part of ur screen black, more of a full screen resolution changer)
I dont care what it does as long as it can allow me to play all of these games in a size where i can actually freaking SEE somthing. Theres nothing more annoying then reading text thats a PIXEL thick.(Ive got eye strain now lol )
Ive attached a pic showing how the game window compares to the overall screen size
Thanks to everyone that took the time to read this post.
Zooming would be way to intensive and useless.
The best solution will be for it to just play in fullscreen, but have the extra parts blank. Scaling the image would just be ugly, all distorted. So, it'll be like a widescreen movie on a fullscreen TV.
But idk what would do this.
Does anyone have Gallery 3D successfully working on the EVO and syncing photos with picasa???
If so, how... and can you provide directions.
Thanks!!!

From what I've read, the Gallery 3D has bugs (crashes when you use the camera). Anyone know of a more bullet-proof way of synching Picasa web photos with the Evo? How about a Picasa-like photo viewer on the Evo that will edit & organize photos like the Picasa desk-top application?
Try this one...it works great.
i've been using 3D gallery on my EVO since the first day I got it. It's been flawless and it's extremely smooth as well. You probably just got a bad apk. Try the newer ones, you'll love it.
Thanks david279. Your attached APK worked great on my Evo.
Many thanks, I appreciate it.
When you open the camera via the gallery, it only gives you the ****tiest resolution, it hasnt been properly ported to the evo yet
also zooming in on a photo makes it look like its crap in 3-d gallery, its like its zooming in on a low-res sample and not the 8mp image that it is. If i zoom in with htc's gallery it looks incredible.

Works fine on my phone as well... for the record, you do have to wait a bit for the image to full load when you zoom in. It will zoom in pixelated and then after a bit it will sharpen up and look the way it should.
Here's the new working link.

there you go guys.
Unfortunately the pictures viewed in the Gallery won't be loaded in a higher resolution when zooming in. Can anybody confirm this?
Confirmed, this application ideed doesn't refine when zoomed. Didn't do with Desire neather. I would like to have a HTC album application. That one does zoom and refine...
Search image viewer on market,it should work properly
indeed - but this gallery is a great looking app... don't want to give it away ;-)
The problem is that there's nothing to refine. What I've read in the reviews that the image app makes a smaller version of the original image. So you are looking at less the pixels than the original image. Stupid but hey, It's not a camera.

Thanks for that - can now see pics in much higher res, but the app lacks a few basic gallery features, such as rotate, swipe/move to next pic, etc. Any alternatives?
What about installing the nexus one gallery app like what we did with the milestone?

Pretty stupid indeed, with a gallery you want to watch the original images... Not some thumbnail. Hope this will be fixed in the future...
OpenDesire 4.0.4 against the AuraxTSense 7.6.1 version
Pure Google Android against HTC Widget UI
I was a long time Sense UI fan, then out of curiosity and love towards Google i tried the OpenDesire project by Adam and i like very much the speed and beauty of everything.
What bothered me though was the lack of some settings in camera/videocamera. No touch to focus during video especially.
Today i tried one last test, to see who will win my heart and my Desire over.
THIS is the OpenDesire 4.0.4 shot by video.
Wiped, flashed the AuraxTSense 7.6.1 version (contrary to the title in the actual video) and shot THIS video.
Do you agree that the video by OD is far better and smooth? Only if there was that darn touch to autofocus. Maybe even DURING the shooting?
As for me, i'm nandroidRestoring my way back to OpenDesire.
Thanks for reading!
Says that the video's are private...
yeah, cannot view the videos
I forgot to change the settings.. Will do.. Check in a minute..
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
shooting videos is 1 thing..being able to view them decently is another..if i had the sense music player , video player, gallery, radio app, camera functions, video functions pretty widgets that exist in sense, i would go od in a heartbeat..but nope..noway..even the keyboard has to be changed to b fanctional for my language..
I've done this test many, many times.
AOSP roms with Nexus One cyanogen ported camera (like cyanogenmod, defrost and opendesire too) have the advantage of a lower datarate (6Mbit vs 7.5Mbit) which is easier on the microsd and also sometimes of a better auto-iso management especially in not-so-ideal lighting. On the other hand I think the camera app is crap in itself and lacks autofocus badly.
If you have a fast enough microsd and adjust a bit the iso on HTC Sense, you will end up probably with equal or better results.
Oh and by the way, I can't stand stock android lack of polish
Hi all.
We all agree that SGS Super AMOLED is amazing and viewing photos is simply a joy... but the Gallery 3D supplied with the phone can't handle image quality in a satisfying manner.
There are plany of apps out there for image viewing. Some are neat, some are less.
I've tested some apps like Floating images, B&B, Just Picture, Picture Folder and Image Viewer.
As a professional photographer, image quality is a must. So I tested each app with various images but same resolution (800pixels long side).
All apps mentioned above, except one, failed to show the right sharpness and color transitions.
The best app for those who care about quality, is Image Viewer. This app has no appeal and no "fun playing around" feeling to it but it does the job on the best side.
If you think there are better apps out there, please share.
Cheers.
Large Image Viewer seemed to give good quality.

Personally I use JustPictures. In the options you can set the picture resolution to "original" which makes it show the full resolution, although it has these minor line artefacts so the quality isn't perfect.
I can't find this "B&B" you mention. What is it?

I believe Image Viewer or Large Image Viewer is the same app.
The lines you mentioned are called BANDING. This is usually seen in transition in the BLUE color (e.g., Skies).
Image viewer won't show you these banding at all.

I tried to search in the market but found quite a lot of apps with image viewer names on it. Could you please give the author name or a link in appbrain ?
Thanks.

Have you guys tried the fixed gallery app that can be installed via sgs tools? it fixes sensor batt draining bug too. Also fixes picture quality issues. I use justpictures myself

I really like Perfect Viewer. It has really good controls for zooming and scrolling, and I believe it does it's resizing in a way that is pretty high-quality.

gallery from sgs tools is not compatible with JPU
The gallery from Number22 ( SGS tools ) is pretty decent once he fixes the random FC but and the black bars on the thumbnails, to date it has the BEST image quality ive seen/

Try large image viewer, and compare images. Quality wise (as mentioned already) this is the best app.
