yesterday i had maps at 83% usage after 14 hours and I had barley used maps. Now today after I had rebooted the phone last night maps is no longer in battery history but android system its at 93% for some reason. I have never before seen it over 65%. And ive used the phone like I have all other days just seems weird.

I bought a HOX and since the beginning its battery drained like hell.. At first people told me it was because it was new and I needed to give it some time; then, I thought it was because there was stuff on the background and after checking that out, my preferences were ideal for the battery.
It was so drained that I'd go with 100% and wake up with 85%, touch it and have 81%, and lose 1% every minute by doing regular stuff [going to settings, SMS etc]. I decided to use my warranty and sent it to the lab, after 16 days they said the battery is just fine and that I hallucinate. I got it back, decided to get rid of the bad stock rom and flashed ARHD; battery still drains. I went to work with 32% listening to music, when I got there after 15 minutes it was 31%, then I didn't touch it for 2 hours and when I touched it I saw it was 21% [?!] and then for the next few hours, everytime I touched it to check the time it was one percentage less.
Lab claims it's ok, changed the rom, ideal preferences, no apps at all - what do I do?

Hey, be patient. Get BetterBatteryStats and see the wake locks and kernel locks to see what's consuming so much battery, post the screenshots here so we can help you better.
There's a Battery Stats thread in the General section...it might help you.
Dude, 1% drain while listening to music is considered good in 15 mins. On average, 1%per3mins while listening to music is good already.

HUH? I'm talking about listening to music through earphones. When I had an iPhone I would listen to music for like an hour and it wouldn't drain even 1%, and iPhone's battery was way weaker.
Anyway, I tried the HTC function test, I switched it to flight mode and then the test left the screen on with maximum brightness for 1 hour, it's drained 14%; after that, I switched back to normal mode, turned the screen off and went back to sleep. After an hour I woke up with 81%!!!! Why in hell would my HTC drain 4% per hour with no use at all and no apps?!
Edit: I checked the clock 2 minutes ago, the battery was at 80%; I got an SMS now, battery is at 78%. It's just not normal!

Dude, I have a standby drain of 2-4% per hour and on screen time of about 3-4 hours. Listening to music drains about 2-3% every few minutes. That is normal man... as for your iPhone, its an iPhone.

Whining and discussing about it won't make your battery better. Get BetterBatteryStats and post screenshot.

Try using gsam battery monitor. See my screen shots. Will give you a clue as to what's draining your battery. Don't go as per my stats as I just did a wipe and reinstall.

Charged to 100% then calibrated it, but then the battery went to 99% right away, and then after like 2 minutes of using the GSAM stats I pressed the "preferences" and PUFF! 96%. I don't get why it has to skip numbers. I think the Calibration kinda ruined the battery? Is it possible?
I'm losing around 1% of battery every 2 hours when I leave my tablet sitting sitting idle with wifi on. Is this the case for most people?

I'll admit I don't my N7 yet, but that seems like over a week in standby. Not too shabby.
That sounds pretty good

That could be about right. Once I finished setting everything up Saturday I gave it a full charge. Between Saturday night and last night (Monday) I had about 1h 45m of screen on time from using it and was down to just 67% after nearly 48 hours of standby plus some good screen on time.
I took mine off charge at ~6:00AM surfed the web for ~10mins. I left it idle for ~10 hours and it was at 94%. BBS says 0.5%/hour.
I seem to be losing about 2% per hour at idle, though I'm monitoring it at the moment.
Last night (over ~8 hours), I dipped form 64% to 51%, today (over ~9 hours) from 48% to 33% This all at idle. The biggest culprit for usage seems to have been Google Play Services with a keep awake of around 50% (or 12 hours over a 24 hour period). Made some changes to settings and what to sync, am charging again, and will see what will happen. All up, 32 hours with maybe 3 hours of screen time (1.5 of that being Netflix) used 67% of the juice.
Currently bone stock. Contemplating unlocking/rooting though, since custom ROMs have done wonders for my phone's battery drain (from ~5%-ish per hour stock to around 1.8% per hour)
I had the htc one for a couple days i noticed it can charge from around 5 percent to full within 1 hour-1hour-1/2. I just installed battery widget reborn and it states that it will be fully charged within 4 hours. I also read about the charging time being 4 hours also they covered that in a bunch of online video reviews. Is there some kind of software glitch that shows its fully charged but not really charged all the way?? just weird little thing to me.... thanks guys for any input...........
My phone doesn't take 4 hours to charge unless I'm running aosp. Then it will take around 4 hours.

I've calibrated my battery a couple times this month due to ROM and kernel updates and it takes just over 2hrs from zero. It has never taken 4 hours for me. Running Viper/Elite Lunar.
Battery calibration is a myth. In android once you hit 100% it deletes the batterystats.bin which makes the stats start over. When you do the calibration all you're doing is manually deleting that file which does nothing really. If your battery drops large amounts between a reboot or drains super fast it is probably a bad battery.

I went to bed last night after unplugging my phone at 100% and woke up to find it at 84%. After browsing through the Internet for around 30 minutes, the battery dropped another 10%. I just downloaded gsam and will post up a screen shot after a full days of use. But I have seen people who can go 7 hours continuous YouTube streaming with this phone. I've owned this phone for almost 2 weeks.

i have found that my M8 tends to drain quite a bit in deep sleep. I had a nexus 5 and with everything off except wifi, i'd lose 3-4% in 8 hrs. compared to the same settings and a 10% drain on my m8.

There's over 900 replies in that thread dedicated to the battery of the M8
Guys I had the same issue in deep sleep but with a custom kernel(i have the ElementalX), my phone now in deep sleep loose 1-2% the whole night!

Go to settings, and battery history. If 3. bar is always active, then something is unnecessary draining your phone. I don't know what. Download Clean Master and clean RAM, or just reboot the phone, and that issue will probably dissappear

There's definitely something wrong. Download GSam to find out which apps are draining your battery, then fix their settings (ie. social media apps are always syncing by default, turn that plague OFF). I suggest to freeze all apps you aren't actively using especially those who seem to be draining your battery. On the M8 you should expect at LEAST a full day of heavy usage, ie. 5hrs screen on time + 20 hrs standby.
My phone is a non rooted AT&T branded phone. I was checking the battery details and I saw that 86% of the battery was being used by apps. I looked at the app list. There are 2 games on there that I played early in the day. I only played each for about 10 minutes each. Each of them has used 23% of the battery. When I drill down on the app it says VideoOn:5 hours and 34 minutes. This is despite the fact that I closed all apps and force stopped those two. Anybody know what is going on? The monitoring app is GSam Pro
