TomTom will drain your battery very fast
You should install batterystatus
Depending on usage, my battery usually lasts more than 48h, but GPS is a drainer for batteries, and together with tomtom...
Anyway, you should install batterystatus and monitor the battery drain to see if there is any leak. I usually have around 70-80mA with no application launched, but with maximum brightness it goes up to 250mA.
To me Mary 3.3.5 SL is the best when it comes to battery, plus I donĀ“t use HTC Home,HTC Launcher and stuff like that.
I guess those two plugins or apps have something to do,the nicer the rom looks the faster the battery drains and TomTom is a drainer like they say,so if you are using biotouch or some similar app it also make the battery consumption go higher.
I down grade from 1.50 to 1.46 resulting in longer battery life.
Hi all, quick and easy question.
I know the desire has a bad battery, but is it better than the battery life on the original diamond? Ie will a desire outlast a diamond with similar use?
They're comparable
For me, the difference between the Diamond 2 and the Desire is non-existant to marginal.
But the older Diamond did much worse.
yep this is the older diamond. i find it acceptable, so i guess the desire can only be better, which is good.
I had the original Diamond before I got the Desire and I noticed a big improvement, especially when using wifi.
For some reason wifi drained the battery in no time on the Diamond, with the Desire you can have wifi always on, it even drains the battery less than 3G data does...
good stuff, thanks owzie
I had a diamond and a touch pro, battery life on desire is much better

in my experience too! I have wifi always on and my desire lasts much more than the diamond with wifi on only when needed
I am just curious to know because im interested in buying the DHD but i've heard that the battery life is just awesome (insert sarcasm here), so if anyone knows, post a reply please
no It doesn't fit otherwise HTC would have supplied such battery
battery life is not so bad either, it lasts a day with a good amount of usage if you know what you are doing , improved with the 1.72 OTA update

Hi, im planning to buy this phone. It looks cool, already Gingerbread, included the awesome HTC sense
But, things that i want to know is the weakness of wildfire s?
I really appreciate any reply. Thank you for helping me
Slow cpu. Only 600mhz while most other devices are higher such as the Samsung galaxy Ace which is clocked at 800mhz
When it comes to benchmarking thought that very same 600Mhz cpu performs nearly as well as the Desire with 1Ghz Snapdragon processor. Its not that slow!
Just got it yesterday, and as long as you use taskkiller or something else you should have an adequate experience (depending on what you had before). It may also take some time to get used to the size of screen (keyboard typing), but that's usually an isuue whenever you switch screen sizes.

I got my wildfire s one week ago and I came from a samsung spica. Is a big difference in responsiveness of display, more ram and rom memory, multitasking and better cpu, but, in my opinion the weak point is HTC Sense UI and all the stuff from htc already installed. I'd prefer a clean android. I hope will be rooted for a cyanogen rom.

I also think so. there are too many unwanted app in HTC.
However, there is enough RAM.
HTC's gallery app doesn't support picasa web, which you should remember, and I didn't know that.

Got mine on 2nd June. Its battery life isn't great. I use Auto Kill task manager to turn off unwanted apps, turn off wifi, GPS and bluetooth to save power and i get about a day's worth of phone calls from 9.30 am to 7.30pm. By then the battery drops to 15% or less.
I suggest not playing angry birds on battery for long as this drains the battery faster. The phone is otherwise quite good and even apps run well on it. A 1500mAH battery would have been great and hoping one comes out soon.
Task killers do more harm than good. As the phone has 2.3.3 there is no need to use a task killer as android has its own system to kill apps that are using the most battery life. Also if you look in the power section on the settings there is an option to enable power saver which restricts the power to your phone allowing more battery life.
Without the task killer the battery was draining too fast. Now am getting much better battery life. I've also turned off GPS, bluetooth and keep WiFi off unless needed. HAptic feedback is off too and have kept screen brightness down and no live wallpapers. These thigns together give me some hours more. Strangely even though haptic (vibration) feedback is supposed to be off it does give feedback when typing and when the phone rings. Might be a bug in the OS. Could others verify this too please?
My original Wildfire lasted about a day. But please dont use task killers. Everywhere you look they say dont use task killers:

battery performance
I purchased wildfire s on 01/06/2011. battery performance is poor. It is not lasting more than 8 hours even though Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, background data,bluetooth,autq-sync etc are disabled. power saver is on and phone is not used for calls also and signal strength is good. In HTC FORUMS it was suggested that "The HTC HD7 Windows phones battery is compatible with this phone. I have ordered one & read some others saying it works plus it has higher capacity @ 1,500mAh. With a 600mhz processor & HVGA screen battery should last a while."
Battery performance.......
I have just got a Wildfire S and on it's first charge I've got 4 days 8 hours. The battery meter is now down to two bars but I'd expect to get another day. This is with the following turned OFF Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Mobile Network. So yes there's not much I can do other than make phones calls and send texts. After my next charge I'll put moble networks back on and see what the outcome is.
thanks guys answering my questions..
i think CPU is not really a big problem for me. i dont play HD games, and use it overloaded.
And screen is doesnt matter as well. have been using Xperia X8 which is much more smaller
HTC Sense has its own built in task killer if i remember rightly? Liowmemory settings...If your rootes (S-OFF) download autokill off the market to change the "aggression" settings
Battery upgrade!
"Mugen Power" have a 1500mAh battery for this phone.
Just google and you will find...

Android has it's own battery monitor that kills apps not Sense.
Hello,
i bought my Wildfire S yesterday and made a full charge after unpacking.
Uptime of my Wildfire S: 35:50:00 h
Active time: 12h.
Due to the fact i used it pretty much i think there will be much more, if i stop playing around
I had a HD2 before and and i think the Wildfire S is a little bit slower. I don't play games on my smartphone, so that i can't say which differences there are in 3D-mode.
I hope i could help.
Games like tap tap revenge and angry birds work very well. Also pocket legends plays well considering it is 3d and is an MMO.
I am really confused.. some guys says the battery is awesome..but some here says it very poor....
Also can we use unrevoked to flash Wildfire S??
I'm wondering if anybody can help me with this!
I have a HTC Desire HD smartphone, I haven't had it long but I've noticed a significant drain in my battery life! I have tried a certain app on the Play Store to Calibrate my Battery but I don't think that's worked very well! I don't want to flash any custom rom's or anything like that I just want help with how to get a good battery life! My battery lasts about 8 hours with not much use, and I've tried battery saver's but they're not much good! I don't think I need to buy a new battery but if I need to then I will but if I can help it then I won't! I know this is off the topic but I have a HTC Buzz: Wildfire too and I rooted and flashed CyanogenMod 7 on it too and the battery life was crap on that but I don't need help with that phone mode it's just the HTC Desire HD I need help with, so yeah can anybody help me with this problem? It would be great if you could!:good: :highfive:
Yours Sincerely,
Kieran James Luckman
Read up on the Better Battery Stats app and figure out if anything is causing wakelocks.
Well, if you are on stock rom 2.3.5 then it could be a hardware problem but first try a new battery!!
install a app called "current widget" from playstore
and check how much mAh you are getting, If more than 800+ means charger is Good...
and secondly u can giv a try to custom kernels, there are many out there with a better battery life and battery saving governor like smartass v2 etc
