I need a video tutorial or a beter way of explaining how to get 2.1 on the raphael 800.
* Extract the latest Android filesystem to a ext2 partition on the internal Storage
*
Extract the latest kernel and modules to the root of the windows partition
*
Copy Haret.exe and a default.txt for your mobile to the windows partition (fat) and rename the text file to default.txt
*
Run haret.exe from WinMo, and you are on the way, to a better system!
I found this and downloaded the files to my computer but what next??? plz help
The method you seem to be describing is the ext2 method NOT the "typical" or normal method of using sqshfs...
I'm sure that's just mumbo jumbo, but what you need to do is this...
Download this package. That is the base package - you can just run with that if you wish. Make sure to copy the STARTUP.TXT for your device to whereever haret.exe is - either at the root of your SD or in /andboot folder on your SD card typically.
Now if you want to update your system, first download this - system.sqsh update. Extract & copy to where haret.exe is again. Overwrite the file currently in there.
Then you need to grab the newest zImage/modules, and rootFS. Note - you will need to rename the zImage file to just that - zImage. Also, the rootfs should be titled "rootfs.img" - nothing else.
Please do some reading next time as well. It seems you just went to the first thread you could find and got horridly lost. The ext2 method is more advanced, and IMHO the benefits on the RAPH are not that great. Vogue maybe, but that's a completely different device.
as mentioned in the main android for tp thread:

this is the thread for the raph800. alot of info, specifically for the raph800 (sprint touch pro).

And if you get packages from the first post in that thread, all you have to do is extract them to your SD. They're ready to go in every way for your RAPH800.
**Note - that ONLY applies to packages downloaded from the first post of that ppcgeeks thread...**

Hi All
I made some changes to 23088_Mega_WWE_3G by TAI (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=458456&highlight=core+21869)
Apps removed: iContact, FingerKeyboard, Skyfire and Showcase.
Changed couple of manila files:
-Removed clock background from homepage
-Changed manila slider and tab background
Changed splash screen (sample below)
Images are not mine, can't remember exactly where I got them from.
For the purpose I used ROMDonald kitchen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319970)
All credit goes to TAI (thank you for all the great ROMs).
Download ROM: http://rapidshare.com/files/415414292/23088_Mega_WWE_3G_Pharmakos.rar.html
In case you're looking to have Solitaire and BubbleBreaker, below the links for the cab files.

Disclaimer: I flashed it to my device and so far has been working with no remarks for about a month now. However, use at your own risk.
Notes: After you flash, you should update weather from weather tab, once updated, go to: Start>Connections and click on "Weather". This is necessary for the weather info on homescreen to be updated, also if you don't do this before re-starting the device or before turning off, when you restart again manila won't load.
Recommendations:
1.This ROM has very low reception with radio 1.56.70.11, I recommend to use radio 1.47.30.10 (link available below).
2. If you do task 28 wit MTTY before flashing this ROM, please flash OEM Stripped AT&T and then flash 23088_Mega_WWE_3G (link available below).

Hi, the easiest approach is to go into the dump folder first and search the files you want to remove by name, also when you're changing the registry you will need to search for the applications you want to remove and remove the whole key with whatever strings and dwords they might be under it. Finally when you're editing the "initflashfiles.dat" you should remove from there as well any entries referring to applications you want to remove, also the info in "initflashfiles.dat" will give more detailed info on all the files which are components of the apps you wish to remove, this way you can go back to the dump folder and search and remove the unwanted files.
Hope this helps.

Ok I just installed it and seems to work great. Thank you for cleaning up this rom as now it seems perfect. I installed iphonetoday cab and it works great with this rom.
Thank you again man.
I'm trying to make the same thing with the Italian version..
Is there any 3G dialer working with this version, having the smart-dialing function too?
Any way to find and put the new version of Internet Explorer?

Well, if it is video calling that you're trying to use, to be honest I wasn't using it as my mobile provider is not too reliable with 3G. The only dialer I installed was PhoneEx and I was very happy with it.
As for Internet Explorer I wouldn't know as I prefer Opera. You might find an Opera Mini, personally I was using "OperaMini-4.2-small", whoever you may find the latest version "10".

arty hope it works for you. Worst case scenario, I could try to upload to mediafire as a mirror, just in case your issue turns out to be rapidshare.
Np, man, thank you for sharing your work.
In his case its just bad download and because its in windows cache it will be bad every time till he flushes cache or saves it elsewhere.

Hi Pharmako,
I have a problem editing the registry.
I can easily convert the "default.hv" and "user.hv" files into "boot.rgu" files, but having opened the two "boot.rgu" and edited them with the notepad, even if I save them in "UNICODE" they change dimension end I have errors converting back to "user.hv" and "default.hv".
Even adding the first line "REGEDIT4" doesn't solve the problem.
Tried with WinXP notepae and also withe the "Notepad2"..
What is wrong?
Thanks

Hi eryunt,
I also had that issue. I thought that I had done something wrong along the way and I started the whole dumping, etc couple of times. Then finally I tried to first do all registry changes and then saving as > unicode. Meaning that I was first saving and then changing as described step by step in ROMDonald's manual.
So, bottom line: first do all changes to registry and then save as > unicode. And don't forget to add an extra line at the end of the text. Hope this works.

The problem is that in both ways I can't solve the problem.
First of all, is the line "REGEDIT4" on the top needed?
What I've noticed is that even the original boot.rgu, without any modification, can't be converted back into .hv file.
Looking at the text, after the modifications at the registry, when I save in UNICODE all blank lines disappear..
Moreover, when I open the boot.rgu file I already have a blank line at the bottom, I need to add another one?
Thanks Pharmako!

Hi eryunt, "REGEDIT4" on the top is definitely neeed and even though you see already a blank line, still you need to add another one (know from experience ).
One more thing, once you edit the file, re-open it and look for the following: at the start of the file you will notice that there is certain character space (blanks) between registry values and after many many lines, somehow this spacing thrend dissapears, what you need to do is carefully check till the end of the file and repeat the spacing thrend were needed (I wish I had made a screen shot of this). You should be able to convert then without any further issues.
Please accept my apologies for not mentioning it before, but to be honest it kind of escaped my memmory in my previous post.
Wish you luck and if there's anything else I could help with, please let me know.
I just started doing the xdandroid (since it was 'finalized' on 9/16), by downloading the cab, and installing the reference version of the package.
Everything installs and runs fine. The first time. After a graceful shut-down, and re-starting, I learn that the startup.txt file is 0 bytes -- empty! So, Android won't boot.
Why is my startup.txt continually being modified and cleared?
Any info appreciated.
Thx.
Jon
I have the same Problem...
Did you guys search? If I search in the android thread on "0 bytes" I get 20 results. It's a bug of the startup utility. Don't use it or rename startup.txt to default.txt. Maybe putting the startup.txt to read only should work to.
Best option: DON'T USE MGJDROIDUTIL!!!
Also, for you cab peoples - it uses this by default - use haret.exe!!!
i had the same prob. it goes to haret and if u click run it will say it cant find default text. uninstall android. delete all files in andboot folder. reinstall. copy and paste the "startup.txt" file to the same folder. rename it "default.txt" or just "default."
the same thing will happen to the startup.txt but the default.txt will always work. you just have to hit run when it gets to haret.
I had the same issue, the problem only seems to occur when you check/uncheck the Hardware 3D Box.

Dude... it's MGJDroidUtil that's causing the issue. I hear there's an update coming, but for the time being
DON'T USE IT!!!!!!!!!
Sorry I had to get forceful with the text, but it seems some aren't getting the point...
Lol relax, I've learned that the hard way. I just wanted to explain to these guys my side of the symptom and what I notice that seems to have caused the problem. I agree with you though.
I do not even know MGJDroidUtil, but I have the same issue. It happens along side with SD card corruption (file000.chk)

Are you using the cab install & using that shortcut it put in your start menu? Then you are using MGJDroidUtil.

Jesus why can't you just not use the MGJDroidUtil?!? I'm not sure why that's so difficult. If you don't use it, it won't screw up your startup.
I had the same issues. What I did is after installing it go into file explorer and long press haret.exe and add it to programs and set it on your home screen as the link. )
There is a new startup tool, use that. Delete the old one.

Interesting. I've always used the CAB install. Shall I remove the CAB and go with the RAR?

I would, just because then you get a better feel of what's really happening. I installed the cab for the first time last night... that thing is an atrocity.
At any rate, MGJDroidUtil was also updated, so you should be safe using it again - assuming you're using the newly updated version that is.
hi there i got the new build 28-9 and i got the problem when i want to boot it...its says storagecard/andboot directory does not exist...while its exist... someone told me to:
Startup.txt, in the cmdline section. Don't use the startup utility (MGJDroidUtil) if you edit the startup manually tho. It'll blast out whatever you put in there.
but i dont know where the Startup.txt is..in my sd card i been searching but no results and i got a gsm touch pro 2... well maybe i should delete everything again...are these FSCK0000.REC files also from this builds?cuase i didnt delete that..i only deleted the andboot and 100android(dcim) files

Yes, the .rec files are from the build. You can put an entry in your froyo.user.conf that deletes them for you.
Also, you can't find your startup.txt...? How are you running Android, it should be where haret.exe is!
its after you install and load android. after exiting android and returning to winmo, somewhere along the lines startup text gets deleted. for what reason? i know not..
hey atleast it teaches us workarounds lol
ye i know but i could find that file thats why i think it didnt work this time for me
is com.handcent.nextsms-2.9.29 a android file? and EncFiltLog to?
tnx cheers..btw im just gonna install it all over again
I did manage to change the min power file setting from 3 to 0,but others with 400000000 will not keep the changes to 450000000.
I need help because whenever I try copying the 4.00k sized files to an sdcard directory for editing to overwrite, the damn things change to 10bytes instead of remaining 4.00k!
What app properly copies files from root required directories?
I tried ES File Explorer,Root Explorer, and 7Zipper 2.0,but all of them have this DAMN issue!
Someone please help me and any other people who also want overclocked Adreno GPU speeds for better performance.
If you help me,I will post the exact directory for where you find the files you need to edit.
Edit:Actually more difficult,min_pwrlevel reverted to 3 on restart.
Is there an app to force these files to keep your changes that only requires root and not bootloader unlocking?
Here is the page with the info.
www.dailyphonetricks.com/lock-adreno-gpu-clock/
The directory listed is not in Fire TV,but the Fire TV uses a different directory that I found out shortly.
Can a script with root access cause the desired result of full speed and overclocking the Adreno 320 GPU to 500MHz?
I use this: Root Browser by jrummy
Sent from my SPH-L600 using Tapatalk
Tried it,but still no luck.
An expert is needed for finding out how to tackle this situation.
To help move this forward,I will now reveal the Fire TV directory...
