Hi,
I am new to all this flashing etc . . . Anyway, i have installed Android 2.1 and followed all the neccessary steps. However, when i power my phone on it goes through 3 boot up screens then hangs on a black screen saying HTC, it has been like this for 20 minutes.
Should it take this logn and i am over reacting, or is there something else i need to do?
Cheers

if it really has been 20 mins or more, then take the battery out (and back in) and reboot and see if that works.
Then get back to us on what happens.
Hi, thanks for the quick reply, i ahve tried what you said 3 times, and no luck, this time it has been hanging about 9 minutes.
Open ddms (if the android tools is in your path), and/or post a logcat
What ROM did you try installing?
Im installing Villain 5.2.
And the rest of what you said comletely boggled my mind, i didnt understand a word of it lol.
I have just wiped and reinstalled the ROM, i have powered it on, currently been hanging 2 minutes.
Have you tried booting without the memory card in?

I installed Nataly Rom on my phone and since that time, my phone start to hard reset more and more often (3 times today)
Now I don't think that this has anything to do with the rom, but more with my phone.
Now, If I turn on my phone, I just get my red vodafone screen and nothing else happens.
I tried a hard reset, even with a complete format, wich now puts my phone completly bank, but still it won't pass my red vodafone screen.
Does anyone have suggestions of how to boot it up again?
please help

try putting your phone into the bootloader screen and reflash with another rom.
I have a friend that had this problem with his phone. In his case there was a problem with the pagepool, installing a different rom as cobbs stated was the solution for him as well.

some of us have had this problem already - my advice- use tbe search function 'cmd task 29' is the answer
Hi Gort
Thanks for the wonderfull advise.
I already thought my phone was a gonner, but now I can work with it again.
For all the people who experience a phone that keeps hard resetting more often and eventually cant boot at all, here's what to do.
Procedure:
1. bring the device to bootloader.
2. Launch ActiveSync on PC
3. Go to connection settings
4. Uncheck the Allow USB Connection
5. Now, run mtty1_1_.42_538 on PC.
6. If you have run mtty1_1_.42_538, just press the button USB
7. Type CMD
8. Type task 29 and let the program do his work a bit.
9. after that, flash with the rom of your choice
here is the link to mtty1_1_.42_538

First of: YES I tried searching but didn't find my answer (prob didn't know how to search good enough ). And sry if this is not the right place to post, if so plz a mod move it. Thnx in advance
After not getting my OTA update today I decided to root my desire with Unrevoked 3 and it worked like but I still wasn't able to update the phone via recovery since it just wouldn't start the update.zip.
Than I decided to go for a rom and dwl OpenDesire FroYo and with Rom Manager installed it, but after it finished installing and the phone rebooted it stuck in boot animation (android with glowing animation) and now it won't go any further. Tried using a stock RUU but it said something "Wrong device". (info: I didn't use a gold card since my phone is supposed to be unbranded and unlocked).
Would be very grateful for any help or idea.

For how long did you wait when the X was flashing? Sometimes it can take up to 20 min so keep waiting. The animation, is it smooth or does it seem like it freezes and then goes around in a loop in which it freezes in the same place? Before using RUU you should try flashing another rom (dont forget to wipe & everything), after that use RUU but I guess you'll need a gold card anyway.
Good luck!
i always do a ADB logcat to see what's going on behind the bootscreen.
but for your case i think you need a ext3 partition on your SD card.

Thnx for your help,
1. I waited for like 10 - 15 minutes and nothing. I guess not enough :S :S
2. Yes it is that loop animation that freezes than re starts.
3. I would have tried to re flash but can't open sd in pc, prob have to wait till tomorrow to get a card reader so I can save roms in there.

Did you flash cooked ROM or is it stock from your carrier?
I would back up my personal data then try reflashing the ROM.
If you've done this, sorry I don't know what else to suggest.
Try searching "stuck at bootloader" for starters.

For me, from my carrier's site or from the HTC site... Have you tried either?
There's also this stock ROM thread on PPCG, perhaps there's something similar here on xda-devs. I haven't seen any, but I don't have a GSM RHOD. Good luck.

Yes agree that you must find the stock ROM. You haven't told us whether you have a GSM or CDMA version of your phone and looks like you haven't looked around here enough.
There are plenty of answers for you.
Try searching the forums for "touchpro2 stock rom" and "flashing faq" just as a couple more ideas.
So I was using my phone normally yesterday, until it shuts down randomly while using the camera. So I restarted it, but it still restarted as I got to my home screen. So I said to myself that there must be something went wrong in the rom that I am using (which is LOS 14.1), but I've got a backup before **** happened, not to worry, after I restored it though, IT STILL RESTARTED, but the weird part is, It doesn't restart if it is charging. So I wondered maybe the battery has given up, but in the TWRP, it doesn't restart even unplugged?
Things that I had tried:
1. Tried a new rom (this time using BORETS ROM), still restarts when unplugged.
2. Ran the backup again, still no change.
3.Drained my battery in TWRP, charged it up to 100%, still restarts.
Also, when I boot up my phone without a USB cable plugged in, It restarts when loading the main rom (the rom's splash screen, not the main splash screen), PLEASE HELP ME.

Have you got IFWI version 0094.0183 in bootloader and M stock recovery ?
If you have , you can use my downgrade from M to LP via SD card from my signature below
If, when back in LP .196 -- You still have the same problem , you will be looking at an hardware and not software problem :good:

The problem just seems very weird to be a hardware problem , So, again, after charging my phone up to 100 percent, booted it up to Android and then unplugged it, and I had about a minute of activity now before it shuts down. Again in recovery or boot loader, it never shuts down.
Do me a favour , test with cable attached to phone but detached from charger to rule out USB socket , cable etc:good:

If its out of warranty , i would first check all connections inside phone ,
it could be battery
it could be main board or usb board.
If it were battery though , it should shut down connected to lower amp pc usb2.
Not much you can do really apart from above, usb boards are cheap`sh to buy, maybe worth the gamble ? Obviously if connections dont fix before ditching if main board. Try a discon of all connections and reconnect before ditching
I have the EXACTLY same problem.
Did you solved?

Wow this is an old problem. Nope, I didn't fix it, instead I was back on my Galaxy Alpha until I moved on to newer phones. I believe the problem though was the battery, so if you want, you can replace that. Sorry for the late reply bro!

Hello!
I purchased a Galaxy S6 two days ago and have yet to really use it...
I wanted to have a fully fresh phone so i flashed the latest firmware available to me (USA, Sprint, sm-g920p, zerofltespr, QB1)
Everything flashed as normal (not my first S6, I'm familiar with ODIN) but upon booting up the first time it goes to a blue screen that says initializing update.. then the progress bar goes to 32% and then says erasing.. then it reboots and i get to optimizing apps (starts at some random number 8 of 33, 13of 33, 12 of 33, etc.) and then reboots and goes back to optimizing apps again... it's maddening!!!
I've tried at least 5 different firmwares, all with the same result. Always to 32% then bootloop on optimizing apps
I've tried using the PIT file for my phone along with flashing the firmwares, same result
When i try to enter recovery to wipe cache or factory reset, i get the blue screen that says initializing update then i get some yellow exclamtion warning for a second and i get to recovery... i wipe cache, reboot... same boot loop result
Back to recovery, factory reset, reboot... same boot loop result trying to optimize apps.
I've tried adb sideloading a couple different ROMS but those just bootloop at the Galaxy S6 logo splash screen.
I've run out of ideas for what to do to fix this.. every great once in awhile ill get to the welcome screen and itll get to Setting up your device for first time use... then itll just reboot and go right back to that screen... i havent been passed that once...
Please any ideas would really be great. Thanks

If you get this going, please send me (or post here via file attach) the file: /proc/last_kmsg -- you need to be rooted to get that so hopefully you are. To get this right, you need to copy that file to /sdcard (or somewhere there) and only on the first successful boot.
I want to see what is complaining so I can (hopefully) write a fix for future sufferers that won't require the reboot til dead game.
