When using the browser and I pinch to zoom in the text does not auto flow, does anyone else get this or know how to fix it?

are you referring to text wrapping?
Yeah that's right doesn't wrap the text. I was wondering if it might be something to do with changes Orange make to their ROMs

Works for me...

I have noticed that pinch to zoom, no wrap of text, double tap to zoom, wrap.
This is my first Android phone so I am not sure if this right or wrong?

Is your Desire generic or is it branded to a network?

My Desire is on Orange. Could this be an issue?
Not sure, but I am thinking it could be something they've done to customise the ROM that's broken it.
Going to try and flashing a generic ROM and see where that gets me.

Pinch to zoom works fine here, T-mobile branded
On T-mobile, that works on and off for me, but more so than not.

I think some webpages are coded in a way that doesn't play nice with the reflowing, but as a general rule its excellent.
Works fine for me on unbranded, as long as the page has finished loading.
It is something broken in the Orange ROM, just flashed mine to the generic one and it works fine now
I can confirm that I've seen this behaviour on a friend's Orange branded Desire (french orange).
Auto flowing only happens when he uses double tap but not with the pinch to zoom.
GG orange !
I've also noticed this on my Orange phone.
Ditto. Very annoying.
Works fine for me on a Vodafone firmware. However I notice sometimes that when it auto flows it stops in a position with the text just a little bit off the right of the screen sometimes, and I have to manually move left to center it on the screen again.
Does this happen for anyone else? It's not all the time only occasionally but I've not managed to figure out what seems to be causing it; perhaps its to do with the particular website but not sure.
I think its a problem with Orange only, just bought a black version desire have the same issue. Fools at orange love screwing their customers. Glad I left orange.
I have this problem when viewing listings on the eBay uk website but not on any other site funnily enough.

Quite a strange question here, and probably one with an obvious answer!
The 4 buttons under the screen seem to light up at various times (together, not individually!), but it seems to be quite random on my device. Does anyone know what triggers them to light up, as I can't seem to work it out... also, want to ensure they aren't faulty!
thanks!

I think if the light sensor detects that it's dark, they'll light up.
that had crossed my mind, it just seemed slightly more erratic at times...

whenever I use another keyboard then the original touch input pinch to zoom is deactivated cross the whole phone, why is this and is there a fix for it ?

This has happened to me and a reboot fixed it for me

I have Scandinavian Keyboard installed and hadn't actually noticed, but yes, while the default keyboard is being used there is no pinch zoom in the browser. As soon as I switch back, it works again.
It's not been a problem for me, as I only switch to that keyboard temporarily and switch back again — I prefer the default, but the other gives me access to characters like "ð" that the default does not. If I was using it full time, that would be a real nuisance.
Hi. When I wake my Desire, the screen is blank. However, the 4 hard keys are lit up, and a tiny crack at the bottom of the screen is lit up. When I put my finger at the slide to unlock, there is a small vibration, indicating that the phone is responsive but not the display. Issue persists after taking out the battery and reinserting.
Thanks in advance.
You mean that your screen doesn't work at all, or at wake up only?

I'm guessing that your screen is broken (not the touch panel, the actual screen) because mines dropped the other day and the same thing was happening so I replaced the screen and it works fine now

Was it covered by your warranty? Where did you replace the screen?
Well if it didn't worked when you got the phone and/or you haven't messed with it (did not drop, change radio...) (eg. it stopped working one day) and the warranty is valid,I don't see why it shouldn't be covered..

I didn't bother with the warranty, I just got it replaced at a local phone shop
You could just order a screen online and try it yourself but make sure you order the right screen

The exact same thing happened to me too. It went into service, they've replaced the screen and the motherboard (wtf?), and now it's all ok, all of this free of charge. Don't bother buying the screen yourself, just go the easy way. It might take a bit longer, but it sure is cheaper.
While using the keyboard yesterday, I'd find it would very frequently disconnect from the Xoom, and didn't seem to auto reconnect when I pressed buttons. Every time I'd have to turn off the keyboard and turn it back on to reestablish the link. Anyone else having this issue?
Using tiamat 2.2 moray if that makes a difference.
Not seen the lights flash in a way that would indicate low battery either so don't think it's that.

I would still replace the batteries just to see if it makes a difference.
everyone has this issue, it's just the way either our tablet or the keyboard "works".
I don't count having to turn off and on the keyboard on a regular (sometimes multiple times in a few minutes) period as "working"
Will try some new batteries at some point, though as I said its not given the battery flashing combination of lights yet.

check out xoomforums.com. It's a known issue. Live with it or try the logitech keyboard.
Known issue but no fix? That's a shame. And given I got the keyboard and mouse free I'm loathe to spend out on something ;-)

Motorola Bluetooth with trackpad frequent disconnects

Likely you an app that's frequently changing system settings. In my case it was the HDWidgets weather widget. I killed the widget and problem went away. Using 1W for weather instead.
Has anyone else spotted graphical glitches in the address bar when pages are loading. The letters disappear and are replaced with a garbled mixture of green and black pixels at the left of the screen.
Difficult to capture unfortunately

My device does similar but with a few white pixels and is on anything that is using the GPU, so basically everything lol. Might be your phone as I haven't found anyone with my issue

Yeah I've had this on the stock browser, the words go all distorted for a few seconds. I guess its a bug within the internet app as its only happened on the browser for me.

As long as its not just me, I feel a bit more comfortable. Doesn't bother me I would just be worried that it is indicative of an underlying graphics problem

I get the exact same thing...more of a visual nuisance than anything else really...I don't let that bother me as much as the fact that WiFi at home stops working randomly with full bars and connection status showing as Good...

Happened to me a couple of times. Only happens with stock browser. I use chrome so not a big issue.
indeed, why not try a different browser like Dolphin HD or Chrome? Dolphin has some serious speed improvements in its current beta, and thus soon in its official update. Video comparison: http://lifehacker.com/5919626/dolphin-browser-gets-even-faster-is-still-the-best-browser-on-android
