Does anyone know how to get the chinese keyboard on this phone? or can say if the hero method here:

will work?
I think you'd be able to do that once the device is rooted
I dont suppose anyone has tried?

Hello guys, just want to apologize in advance for being an Android noob.
I need help getting my dad's AT&T S3 to run in Chinese. I've searched and haven't been able to find a solution. My understanding is that I need to root the phone and then flash it with a ROM/firmware. Im having a hard time finding out which firmware includes the language and I'm not sure if the international firmware (I9300) works on the AT&T version. I just need the basics to get his phone with a Chinese UI and nothing else. It would be great if someone can point me in the right direction.
If you're talking about chinese keyboards, you can download them in the market. Most of them are pinyin based and handwritten ones are harder to find. If you want the language on the phone to be chinese, it involves gettig root and going into a xml files and removing the locale codes, someone also made an app that does that but still requires root, and all you need is stock firmware. It was posted in this Q&A forum a while back but you might have to go back many pages before you find it, I dont quite remember the title but it had either Arabic or Hebrew in the title.

Thanks! I want the language on the phone to be in Chinese. I'm not sure what you mean by stock firmware. Do you mean the current firmware on the phone? Or is there like a stock firmware that includes multiple languages. Could you give me an example?
Yeah, stock is the firmware that the phone ships with. Since I haven't touched any of the custom roms, Im not sure myself if the devs would add the chinese locale specifically at all. So say for my S3 on Rogers, the most up to date DLK4 if I remember the firmware code correctly. Took me awhile to refind this Language Enabler, but remember to root first.

The Rom you need is called Dandroid. It has Chinese and Vietnamese language built in. I install it for my friend who doesn't know English.

Also, do not flash the I9300 firmware. It will brick your phone.
Hello everyone! i have an LG E510 (HUB/Univa),android version 2.3.4, Gingerbread, and software v10c-sep-30-2011.(If I missed anything else, please tell me). In android section/software/modding and anything else i`m a noob, i admit that, but i need help and in the forum i can`t find a solution to my problem. Please, please help me. I am ready to root or change rom if i need too.
1. i can`t upgrade my software, he tell me that i have the last version. how can i do that? by root it? or only install lg pc suite on my pc?but how can i put ics or anything else?
and 2. i want to change my lockscreen if i can with one like iphone has. i like it a lot, but only that and the answer slide. The rest is stupid (my opinion). Now, how can i change the lockscreen and answer slide like on iphone, but can i do that and only that? i find MIUI and MIOS on youtube and google. but i dont want to change everything, like i said i like android icons and setting and everything.
So please help me with one answer least. Thank`s in advance.
Quick question guys. Basically I want to go back to stock as best I can. I want it to pretty much look and feel like it did when it came out of the box. (though I'll keep clockworkmod and root on it).
Having some difficulty finding an official TouchWiz ROM...
I have the Australia t0lte model, bought through Optus. If there's one out there without all the Optus junk that would be even better, but doesn't matter all too much. A Vodafone version would be good as well.
So yeah, does anyone know where I can find one of these ROMs at all?
EDIT: ... Nevermind. Found it here: http://samfirmware.com/ just incase anyone else wants to find it.
Most of Sammy users know Sammobile
FYI this thread might helps you to flash the firmware
