Select - delete all sms by drag down?

Hello
On my qtek 9000 and on my HTC PRO i was able to drag down my stylus, starting with the first msg i want to delete and highlighting all the messages as i drag downwards. Then click "delete" and delete all sms at once
In my HTC PRO2, there is no option to select all messages by drag down
only 1 message can be selected at once.
I noticed this behavior also in some HTC PRO ROMS, so i suppose there must be a registry value that allows or disallows selecting all sms at once by draging down
Is anyone aware of this?
I will appreciate any help, since i need to delete about 500 sms every day
Thank you
Best way is to slide the device open, hold the CTRL key down, and click each message you wish to delete.
Laborious I know

No, that's pretty darned accurate!! Mine is UK Vodafone version and says All/ All below/ several when you choose Select Messages from Menu. Easy peasy
Thanks
I know that
I also have found InboxExtender.CAB helps a lot (Deletes all messages with one click)
But why is scroll down selection disabled in some ROMS?
Can you select and highlight messages by scroll- drug down?

It's so that you can actually scroll with your fingers. For how much I scroll through messages and how little I select multiple messages, I'm happy. But, you can't please everyone.

assign soft key action...

ok, i'm not getting a response in q&a, so, sorry if this is in the wrong section...
anyone know if it's possible to assign a shortcut to the softkey action
(ie. the softkeys are different in word to those on the today screen, can i assign a shortcut to that action)
i use a bluetooth keyboard which can be configured to any shortcut. it would be real handy to be able to just hit a couple of keys rather than reach for the devices tiny screen everytime i want to activate the menu.
cheers
or even just to have the pop up menu in word would be real handy
cheers
anyone!???

Verizon TP2 - Selecting Text Issues

Hey gang,
I'm driving a Verizon TP2 with the standard ROM, TouchFLO 3D 2.1.38420.2 out of the box with WinMo 6.1. I'm still fairly new to WinMo and the TP2 and am having some frustration with selecting text, mainly with trying to select text that extends beyond the visible screen. I can select text that's on the screen easily enough, but when the text I want to select extends either above or below what's visible on the screen, I can't figure out how to get that extra bit of text.
For example, let's say I go into a sent email that has four total paragraphs of text, the first two of which are completely visible on the screen. I need to select and copy the first three paragraphs only. I can easily select the first two visible paragraphs, but I can't figure out how to scroll down and continue getting that third paragraph.
I've tried with my fingers and the stylus, with no luck. Once I have the visible text selected, if I scroll down with the scroll bar to get the text below, once I click on the text it deselects. I've also tried getting the screen to auto-scroll with the stylus as I'm selecting text, by keeping the stylus down at the bottom - much like you would with your mouse pointer in Outlook/Word on your computer - but it won't scroll.
I've read posts about using the shift and arrow keys, but I can't seem to make that work either. Selecting all the text, then copy/pasting that over and deleting the extra works in some situations but not all. I need to be able to select exactly and only the text I need before copy/paste.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I believe you have to map the shift function to a key and then go from there. Or you could highlight the first part, copy paste, scroll down, highlight the second part, copy paste.
I'm looking for a thread where someone asked a similar question

I'm going to give Rhodium Keyboard Controller GSM/CDMA v1.4 a try and see if that helps.
That being said, am I seriously *not* doing something stupid here? Is there really no built-in function to continue scrolling as you're selecting text with WinMo 6.1? I've really been enjoying WinMo 6.1 on my TP2 over my previous Blackberry experiences (including old non-touch and the Storm), but this seems like an amazing oversight.
Anyone know if this is corrected/included in WinMo 6.5?
Are you in TF3D or the standard windows view? In TF3d I cannot highlight any part of the message, I can only scroll. When I opened windows view (click all messages in the txt tab) I was able to touch click (hold down on screen) > "Make Selection" > and then highlight as much text as needed. It works exactly like excel and word mobile. I'm on Mighty Mikes 6.5 sense 2.1 rom.

It may very well be a 6.1 vs 6.5 issue...I just confirmed that the problem exists on my T-mobile TP2 as well, stock 6.1 ROM.
I tried everything I could think of, with no luck...except for one thing: if you have the keyboard open when you start to select text, you can use the arrow keys to scroll up/down. Of course, it's not exactly easy to do that and hold the stylus on the screen, but if you're using your fingertips to select text, you might be able to get away with that.

[Q] Howto paste in CM7 (Gingerbread)

Help. I've been reading that copy/paste/clipboard function in GB is much better, and yes, I can select text just fine. I must be an idiot, because I can't figure out how to paste... i can get a pointy symmetrical 'up arrow' icon, that I perceive is a paste pointer, but Menu doesn't give me anything, joystick press (I've got an incredible) doesn't work, long press give me 'Input Method'.. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks, Kirby
Once you highlight the text you want, tap the text. A box will come up asking if you want to cut or copy. Press copy. Once you've copied your text just longpress where you want to paste. It will say paste. So click paste and there you go.
DINC|CM7|PROUD AMERICAN!
Hm... I don't get a dialog box asking for cut or copy... I just get a 'copied to clipboard' dialog window that disappears after 2 seconds. When I long press anywhere, all I get is the 'Input Method' box that lets me choose 'Android keyboard'. Maybe I've got some settings hosed.. Heaven knows there are a bunch of settings with CM7 I'll look around when my phone is back up... I just flashed Nightly 66.
OK, I apologize. I guess I am an idiot. I was certain I'd tried everything. I now realize that in some cases, you're given a pull-down window that lets you select work, or select all, but THAT by itself doesn't put it into the clipboard. You then have to tap on it, and 'Copy'. I can now get it to work, Thanks!

Newb Programming Question

Firstly, I apologize for so a terribly novice question; I have looked and googled but part of my problem is I believe I am asking the question wrong.
So, I am just trying to build a VERY simple wp7 program. Main page would have several buttons, which pressing would take you to a page with information on the topic of the button you just pushed, and with another button back to the home screen. Again, very simple. For example, it could be an app of The Rolling Stones, and each button would be a link to a band member's small bio. Nothing too fancy, just dipping my toes.
My problem is I cannot find the action I need to attribute to a button. I can build the home screen and add buttons and text easy enough, and make the other "pages" or screens, but I do not know how to make the button navigate to those pages. And every search I do results in explanations of how to add web links, which is not what I want to do.
Sorry for the newb question, but I appreciate all responses and advice.
There are several ways to do the job:
1. - Define "Click" event for Button (double click on button in designer or on events properties);
- Add "using System.Windows.Navigation;" at the top of your main page .cs file;
- Add "NavigationService.Navigate(new Uri("/NewPage.xaml", UriKind.Relative));" to the "Click" event handler
2. - Open you page in Expression Blend;
- In the "Assets" (left top corner) window select "Behaviors";
- drag "NavigateToPageAction" to your button;
- fill "TargetPage" property (at the right top corner)
3. You may also manually edit your page.xaml source (see the source changes after using method 2)
Put any Button on the Page, simply Double Click that button, this will generate by Default a Click Action Event Handler, in this write the following
NavigationService.Navigate(new Uri("PageName.xaml", UriKind.Relative));
also, you should NOT add buttons to go back, developers are encouraged to have users using the hardware key for going back as you are simply adding more and more to the Navigation Stack which is responsible for keeping track of the users Navigation through Apps, kind of like your Web Browser, you navigate to google,. then 10 pages later, and if you navigate back by URL rather than the built in "GoBack" function for the browser, you end up clicking the back button a hundred times going forward to the page you stopped looking for information then to every page in between which you navigated through to get to that information, it just uses more Memory and for a users experience you should not use buttons that go back let the user control the flow
Good luck on your app mate
