Well that's a dumb-ass comment isn't it, what if he WONT get it because he has a htc branded device?
1.15.405.4 (generic HTC ROM) = T-Mobile updated ROM
Hence no update needed. And if he's on T-Mobile he'll get it in time, patience is the key my friend
Ultimately, an HTC generic SIM-free phone will get updates before the operators
I won't get the update, my phone was from the second batch it already has the update on it.just wanted to keep this update so I can mess with generic rom and have it as a backup incase something goes wrong and I need to return the phone.
Can you not 'dump' it or something? The updated ROM wasn't a download so I don't think anyone has it (I've come from cooking WinMo ROMs where they're easy to get hold of so dunno about Android)
if no-one has it yet, then just use the 1.15.405.3 in the development section, which you can then update OTA to the latest version.
simples.

I assume the OP wants someone to upload the T-mobile update for future use! (as we already have a way to get the htc rom as advised by rhedgehog)
This update will help people who have t-mobile device but have installed a stock htc rom.
If someone is kind enough to upload the t-mobile update those people who have installed a htc rom onto a t-mobile device can re-brand their handsets
If the op has a HTC branded device he wont receive the t-mobile update
No the Op cannot dump his device into a htc signed rom, and it was a download as the phone downloaded it onto the phone prior to flashing it
Apologies for the double post, but as the Op asked
If anyone gets the t-mobile update on their device, could they please upload it and post a link
Just 2 explain. My phone came with this update already installed(it was from the second batch of tmob phones) I want to put the unbranded htc rom on it and keep this update incase I need to send the phone back for repair. I didn't think I could dump the phone and restore from that. The update would make the process simples.

I got you the first time mate
The T-Mobile ROM isn't about though, is it? Perhaps the stock T-Mobile one but the update is OTA so a downloadable ROM version isn't about so no-one can upload it...All the OP would need is the first TMO ROM and then the OTA would kick in when used

Yes we know its not abouts, that's why we want it posted. We don't have either of the T-mobile roms
Anyone who has a t-mobile device who hasn't yet received the update can take a copy of the update file from their phone when they receive it.
We just need someone to make a copy of the update file once they have received it via OTA
Why bother? The T-Mobile update is no newer than the ROM on the HTC branded devices. It's just bringing the first batch devices up to speed with the ROM already send out to the HTC ones.

Baring in mind I didn't know you could take the update from the phone I think you've been extremely rude, condecending and not much help. If the OP had said 'can someone take the update form their phone before allowing it to flash' then everyone would understand and you wouldn't have to be a prick about it. As I said, I've come from WinMo where things are a tad easier so excuse my ignorance but I can see why people said the Android community was full of wankers now!!

Easy:
Step 1. Do not go to Menu > Settings > About Phone > System Software Updates
At least that's how it is on my CDMA Hero running Aloysius 2.1.

this is true. should be the same on the evo. once we make a rooted version, the reminder will go away. it should take no more then an hour for the update to be rooted and uploaded. so be patient, most likely its not going to be a life altering update to froyo. itll just be a patch update

the phone will have to download the update to the sdcad and require u to reboot into recovery if that were the case. im not sure as ive never seen this happen first hand. all the OTA's ive senn just came up with a notice saying... you have a software update availible. wwhen u click it, it will take u to setting and ask if u would like to download it now. u can say no. but if u say yes it will download and when its finished, ask u if u would like to reboot to apply the update. if u say no again ur still in the green. if u say yes it will take u to hboot (bootloader) menu. at this point it will searche for the update on the sdcard, validate and flash it. this is how it worked on my wifes Eris at least and the CDMA hero worked the same way. note this though. Sprint doesnt seem to like doing full rom updates via OTA. they have in the past always made the update avail via the Sprint support site. this was the case for both the Moment and the HeroC. again thi isnt for certain things will work this way on the Evo. but im assuming HTC/Sprint wouldnt bother changing their methods all of a sudden just for the Evo. but again anything is posible
i may just have them hand me a box then, and tell them i will activate at home. i can pull the sd card and use my N1 to put the files on it, and boot straight into bootloader, flash, then do the recovery dance, all before said phone looks for updates.
thanks for the heads up about auto checking. maybe some of the nice folks on the east coast that are going to have the phone 2 hours before i will can post up whether or not this happens, once they get theirs

From the Evo Manual:
Updating Your Device’s System Software
From time to time, system software updates for your device may be available. Your device can automatically
check and then notify you if an update is available. You can then download and install the update to your
device. Depending on the type of update, the update may erase all your personal data and customized
settings, and also remove any programs you have installed. Make sure that you have backed up the
information and files you want to keep.
To check for phone system software updates manually
1. Press > and then tap Settings > System updates > HTC software update.
2. On the System software updates screen, tap Check now.

Maybe I am not following you completely...but why would you try to take an OTA when you are unlocked and rooted?
Second, I don't believe there are any OTA updates for the Vzw One as of yet.
It looks like you attempted to install an update for the European/International HTC One.
Why you are trying to do so, I'm not sure.
But you don't wanna install that, even if you could...

Well, I assumed you had the Verizon HTC One, since you posted in the Vzw One forums.
If you have the International One, you may wanna post in the relevant forums.
Folks will be much more capable of helping you with roms/software intended for your model over there.
The OTA will not install while you are unlocked and running a Custom Recovery.
Try finding a rooted version of the latest OTA version for your device in your device's Development forums.
That would be the best, most appropriate way to update the stock software while staying rooted and unlocked.
Good luck! :good:

Thanks! I haven't yet.
I have gone back and forth about it quite a bit. (still thinking about it every day, lol)
Can't really give up or don't want to give up my Unlimited though.
Since someone was very kind and gave me a DNA a little while back, I may stick with it for now.
Still a vast improvement over the 'ol Thunderbolt, though I loved it too for quite some time.
There has been some talk of some very kind folks pitching in to help me get a One though.
So that way, I can keep my Unlimited and hopefully work on both the One and the DNA in the not too distant future.

This. AND NEVER TAKE AN UPDATE WHEN ROOTED AND HAVE CUSTOM RECOVERY. Lol every single time you boot into recovery it should flash this message as a reminder. Why would anyone take an OTA in all reality?
I picked up the Moto E4 recently and rooted it. The OTA has been sitting in limbo because I didn't wanna get screwed and get stuck in an non-root attainable update. As soon as I got root, pulled it, and here ya are. I have included a list to procure as well.

Could you possibly make a back up and upload it for me before you make any system modifications. I have boost but my original backup got corrupted somehow and I want to make sure what I'm running is the right firmware. I also want a backup of that original firmware. If you could also do me another favor and pull the oem.img and modem.img and upload them along with the recovery.img? I'm making stock ROMs and for some reason a rom made with what I thought was Sprint firmware works fine, but one made with what I thought was Boost firmware gives me a boot loop for some reason and I'm trying to figure out why? I'd really appreciate it. If you don't know how to pull the imgs I can instruct you, it's really simple. Thanks!

I just bought the Verizon varient. It updated today. I plugged into my PC and ran Kingroot. It asked to "try new root strategy", something it did not ask before. Root still fails though.
"This is the older update, right? Not a new one..."
Probably, it will bring NCQ26.69-33 to NCQ##.##-35 for Boost. (According to meta file in zip)
"I also want a backup of that original firmware"
Since I've already rooted, unrooted, lost cell service, lost system, and, just today, bringing it back to a usable state, I can vouch for the NCQ26.69-33 located here
Use the RSD XML-to-flash tool. Found it on Google somewhere.
My best advice is to use the "dm-verity-opt-encrypt.zip" located in root guide before any flash, especially if it entails a system related modification (ie magisk, scripts, etc). If ya get a non-flashable state, flash the boot.img again in twrp, reboot and redo the flash "dm-verity-opt-flash.zip"
Many thanks for kartik verma for posting the OEM device files link.

Using Motorola's company website to get the unlock key and using fastboot to flash, as stated in the rooting guide, is most thorough. Less 3rd party spam too
I have Boost but digging in the device files has shown a lot of 'verizon' being in various system files. Sprint, is Sprint, especially in prepaid flavors, imho.
...35? I have NCQ26-69-48 on a Boost E4. So yeah, older firmware.
Yes, the newest Boost firmware is this one from the link posted above.

Sharing is caring if you have rooted device to extract the OTA update zip. I don't know any other methods of extracting the OTA updates.
On a locked phone you can do nothing.
Possibly one might use network trafic monitor to catch the link where the file is hosted.
The person could get the OTA, then unlock bootloader, flash TWRP, make a backup and share such backup.

To start off with to upload an ota you have downloaded you need to be rooted as it's downloaded to the cache partition only accessible by root
The updater app won't work if you are rooted so you have to go to the bother of hiding root which you can't do on stock rom unless you have a modified kernel or change partition type
Only phones that have been registered via imei can download the file
The person who has been accepted to the Moto soak test has signed a legal document saying that they can not share or disclose the OTA or its contents
Motorola have forced xda to remove such ota zips in the past
There's no point in flashing ota zips that are not for your region - you risk bricking your phone
Take into account all the above can you not just wait

There may be builds out since weeks.
I may have bricked the chooch out of my s7 active was wondering if someone can give me the latest version or a backup of the latest version haha (tried to install oreo) NRD90M.G891AUCS2BRC1 is the build number
For bootloader 2, I think the latest full ROM available is BQD4:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/BGy7/gKs4xzhRE/firmwares/Nougat/G891AUCS2BQD4_7.0_all.7z
Warning, this only applies if you are still on bootloader 2 and haven't gone up to the latest version 3.
YO thanks for the quick reply the room my phone wants
G891AUCS2BRC1 that'd be the latest official update
I guess you need to install BQD4 above, and then work your way up with the OTA files on that cloud page to reach BRC1.

No problem man, I hope it works out for you.
The thing with the bootloader is that it has been on version 2 for quite a while, but in the most recent updates it became upgraded to version 3. You can see it in the file names. For example G891AUCS2BRC1 is still on version 2 while the most recent full Nougat ROM G891AUCS3BRD1 upgrades bootloader to version 3 with no turning back after that, as far as I know.
