FM Radio "Unexpected Error" - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Hi all,
I am having a problem with my FM Radio on my TP2. It was working fine for some time, and has recently developed the "Unexpected Error" message pop-up. I can not figure out what I have changed on the phone that has caused this. I have installed only 3 programs between the time when the radio was working and not working.
The programs I installed were:
Windows MarketPlace (was an update)
Facebook App
Aloqa
Microsoft Bing
I have since uninstalled these programs, and that has not fixed the problem.
I have seen the other forum here, however the only solution there of installing the radio cab did not work.
Has anyone else got any ideas on this? Seems very odd! And I am missing my radio now.
Thanks in advance.

Hmmm that is not a good sign... no one else has had this issue?

XDA IIs and Bluetooth Problem.

When I turn on Bluetooth on XDA IIs, I got this error message :
"The bluetooth radio radio failed to turn on due to insufficient driver memory available. You must perform a normal reset before you can turn on the bluetooth radio."
Anyone can advise how to resolve this ? Soft reset does not cure the problem. Thanks.
have you upgraded to bluetooth stack version 3900 ???
if you have then im fresh outta ideas, if you havent find this at our FTP site,
ftp://xda-developers.com/
login and password = xda
got the same problem when i installed one of the bluetooth upgrades on its own. then i installed the new rom and everything was fine. not sure where the connection is but thought id share my problem
Problem solved.
By the way, what is the latest version of ROM for XDA2s, and where to get it from ?
Thanks.
So I was wrong.
After upgrading the BT upgrade, things was OK yesterday. But this morning i got the same error again.
Went to ftp://xda-developers.com/ as suggested, can anyone mentioned the filename of the ROM mentioned by thakkergaurav above ?
Thanks.
The latest ROM is 1.40
You can find it here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel
Hmmm..... :?
This BT issue is really getting to be NOT FUNNY!
Running the new ROM 1.40 and BT 3900 I'm now getting the "no sound" problem on the handset and caller cannot hear me on a HS801!
I use the turn on/turn off BT trick or soft re-set and the handset is OK for a couple of hours but the HS801 still does not work even though its OK with my old PocketPC,a nokia and a Motorola V3!
Is there any consistancy with this problem? It seems the different ROMs, Radio Stacks and BT versions are being effected.
Well, emailed the tech support, and all they can say was ...
"There is a ROM upgrade in development which is in the final stages.
We request your patience as we are trying to release the upgrade as soon as possible."
And that was 2 weeks ago.
even my bluetooth is upgraded to 3900,
i get the same error message also..
i cannot believe a 96mb memory is still not enough
i never get this kinda nonsense when i was using the 5450 ipaq
my today plugins was all over the screen and I had never encountered low memory...
I had the same problem but I have a Harrier not a BA so I thought it was related to that and you BA guys wouldn't get it.
Anyway, the solution on the harrier was to
-turn flight mode on
-soft reset
-turn bluetooth on
-turn flight mode off
Hope this helps
Here is a possible solution from wiki:
The ExSenetoR wrote:
Delete Run_BTTrayCE_10.lnk from your Windows\Startup folder and soft reset. Now you wont have the BT icon on the tray bar, but you wont have the no sound problem. If you still need bluetooth you can start it from the Windows directory as BTTrayCE.lnk.
Have fun.

Have not tried this myself, but I believe others have had success with it. You may want to save the file somewhere else, in case you want to reinstate it later...
Hope this helps

I posted this in another thread.
It really does look like a combo of the 1.40 ROM and 1.12 Radio Stack that is causing this problem (in this case, anyway. See sig). After trolling various forums, it seems that both BT build 3900 and 3500 are having the same issues.
IMHO it seems that the Blue Angel is trying to send the call to my HS801 even when BT is not activated.
Has anyone had a good look at the current radio stack? I've tried contacting Broadcom (BT chipset supplier) but it has been 3 weeks with no answer.
I've done the Run_BTTrayCE_10.lnk workaround but this is only a bandaid and I don't really have enough experience to attempt to cook the ROM. Any ideas?
I have a Motorola HS801 as well and I can receive calls just fine but when I make calls the other party can't hear me. I'm giving up on the HS801 - it's a cheapie anyway and I don't know of anyone else who's got it working either. Running BT3900

Anyone getting Sirius to work with WM6?

I had it working on WM5 (of course since the app was made for WM5), curious if anyone has gotten it or an alternative to work on WM6. It seems to be the only thing I can't get WM6 to do. Everything else works great.
Never mind. Can a mod delete this thread? I guess I am tired or something, I got it working.
How did you get it to work? Using what program? I used Siriuswm5 on wm5 but keep getting a native error message( this is not the only program I get that error message for) anytime I try to start it. SiriusCE would load just fine but I could never figure out how to start the music.
I do have a Sirius account and am running WM6..is anyone doing this successfully??

I hadn't disabled the proxy, thats why it wasn't working at first. I didn't install Siriuswm5 onto WM6, I upgraded to WM6, then later tried running the SiriusWM5 install files located on my Card and it worked fine through all versions of WM6 that I have ran. I will say I usually use it while connected to the computer or WIFI, I haven't done much with sirius over cellular. And it does drop the connection after a certain amount of time, but I think it's because of that new pop up that is on sirius online that checks to see if you are listening and it can't pop up on the siruis WM5 software.
I'm still iritated that I have gone through most the tricks/software installs I have found on here and still can't get Youtube to play and my buddy sitting with his new Iphone brings it right up.
Are you making sure to disable the proxy?
Disable the proxy through the proxy manager? Is that what you mean I tried that to no avail. I get the same "A native exception occurred" error when I try to run live search or siriusWM5. Both of which say they are for WM5 and earlier. But I keep reading about other people running them just fine. Who knows..I will just keep playing with and maybe I will work it out!!
I found a thread somewhere saying that the .net compact framework had caused that problem for some. I un-installed it and all of the programs that I couldn't get to work now work great!! I know have absolutely no complaints about WM6!!!

FM-radio software mutes when switching channels.

I have a problem: When switching channels the sound of my fm-radio mutes. The sound comes back when I make us of one of the buttons.
This is really anoying if you are a channelskipper like me...
Am I the only one with this problem?
Does anybody knows what causes it and how to solve it?
Many thanks in advance..
yo dwaaz,
i have the same problem with my MDA Compact III, but it doesnt bother me s much. i just noticed its there and took it for granted. would love to solve it though.
Anyone knows whats up?
T
I do have a life also..
Tnx for your quick respons,
I know it's not the most important thing in my life, but it's really not userfriendly, don't you agree...
I use my radio reguraly, and I know it's something with software...
A hard reset will fix it, but it returns within a few days.
At one point I noticed the occuring of this problem. I was listening to my radio when I received an call.
Without answering the call I pulled out the headset to answer it with the phone to my ears. When I finished the call the problem with the fm-radio returned.
I'm using this software:
1. Spb Phonesuite
2. Spb Mobile Shell
3. Spb Pocket Plus
4. Smartmovie
5. Betaplayer
6. Sprite Backup
This is my standard configuration.
Any similarities with your software profile?
Another reply
Noticed that if you use the predefined stations(and the sound works) you can choose other stations without any problems.
When the sound is muted(due to the problem) this will not work. Also channelsearch(not preset autosearch) doesn't work. It won't find the stations
I saw WM6 is released. Maybe the problem will be fixed with this update.
Or does anybody has a fix? Am I (with a few other users) the only one with this problem?
Maybe this will work?
I saw an fm-radio app for an Eten device.

Will this one work? It uses tmc
Hello dwaaz,
have you downloaded the software? The Link to ms mobiles works but when I push the download link i only get error!
Have a nice day
Problem with browser
This link should work.
I tried it again today.

Let me know if the download works.
hello dwaaz,
i only get "HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found."
Please download and mail it to me.
Great thanks
Your email is not public, please let me know so I can send it to you.
Hello dwaaz,
i sended an private message to you.
Have you / or anybody else testet the software on an xda orbit? Does it work?
Have a nice day
FM radio problem partially solved?
I discovered something.
The problems with the radio only occurs when you have disabled the sound for "Events(warnings, system)" in settings/personal/ sound en messages.
In my case, when I enable these sounds (anoying screen taps etc.) the problem is gone.
It looks like the system needs a sound at the end to be able to switch the channels.
Kinda weird isn't it?
Regards,
Dwaaz
PS. I know it's not caused by any third party software, because there isn't any on it.
this message is for nothing. I had problems with my connection en post the same message twice.
Has anyone been able to extract the radio software?

Problems with TomTom7 on Touch Pro 2

Hi, I see some threads that suggest TomTom 7 can be installed on a Touch Pro 2. I bought TomTom 7 on micro SD and it won't run. I get a message "Your device is not compatible with this version of TomTom NAVIGATOR!" Is there something simple that I am missing that is causing this. TomTom support were no help.
Offtopic: Why not ask your question in one of the threads you have found
Ontopic: Officially the TP2 is not supported at this moment. It will work, just ask Google
Hi PGLion.
I started a new thread because none of the other threads were actually about TomTom7 on the TP2, they just gave me hope!
On the ask Google suggestion, I may be a bit slow, but I have not found anything that helps me. If you have a link that you think will help, I'd be very grateful if you could post it.
TT7 on TP2

yes,
try >"7.910" "(9196)"< as search terms in google.
before installing that version you should also chek the reports of other users stating that after installation bluetooth stopped working.
You want "ttn7.915.9196.vga_black.cab"
Works fine.
In fact a quick google takes us to this very site:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482075
Bluetooth still working fine for me.
Yes, TomTom7 DOES work on TouchPro2. I use it almost daily. It's very nice.
But it DOES cripple bluetooth (at least the build that I'm using). It replaces a couple of bluetooth drivers in your Windows directory that are incompatable (or so it appears).
If anyone's having issues with this, PM me. I'll find the thread (I think it was at PPCGeeks) that has instructions re: fixing it.

To save looking - you will need to rename or delete the following dll files in the \windows directory:
\windows\BtSdkCE30.dll
\windows\BtCorelf.dll

i too can confirm that TT7 works on TP2, might be best you use a software called cabinstl to install the cab file to your required location
The biggest problem I'm having is some serious GPS lag on my Verizon Touch Pro2 running TomTom (I've tried v6 and v7).
TOMTOM 7 install issues on Tilt 2
Has anyone had problems with the install going automatically to the device and not having enough memory to run?
Mine works, but I have a few issues. The physical keyboard doesn't work correctly (when I type, I get multiple non-english characters entered, but the on-screen keyboard is fine). The keyboard on my previous Tilt (original) worked fine with TT6. It also appears that there's no GPS: it shows reception of 0 satellites, yet it works fine. Seems way to accurate to be getting position from cell phone triangulation. Also, I'm using the "black VGA" map, but there appears to be an issue with POIs. Gas stations were shown on screen in completely undeveloped areas. Fortunately, I wasn't looking for gas.
TT7 (V7.915) working OK on my stock UK Vodafone (WM6.1) TP2 with no major lag or loss of any other features. Gets a lock fairly quickly (10-30 seconds).
Custom POIs are accurate and as expected.
Satellite reporting is behaving itself.
Hardware keyboard: Worked fine first go, then started printing double/foreign characters (eg: A gave A+A(Umlaut)), then back to OK after I went into soft keyboard settings and re-selected English. Exited TT, came back in and hardware keyboard seems OK still.
The only major issue I have is that TT sometimes crashes while loading ("We're sorry..." Windows error screen) and I have to turn the phone off/on to get TT going again.
