I know that there are a few other things out there, but a basic google search turned in these results. Hope this helps.

i'll try the program for osx but the linux wont work. lucid "lucy" lynx used a completely different kernel then the older versions. and since its a beta, i'll serously doubt it'll work. but thanks anyway, i'll keep looking.

Windows Vista + Rombootloader not working!

ok so im running vista and when i try to use the romupdateutility it errors out. neone have a working ver of romupdate i can use?
Dont try to update ROM under Vista with old update utils!
Some people started update process under Vista but was not able to finish, therefore corrupting the ROM. Apparently a lot of update utilities are not compatible with Vista.
if vista didnt look as nice as it does i wouldnt be using it. thank god i was smart enough to dual boot!

Maybe install VMWare on Vista to host an WinXP
Or maybe not install/use vista at all what for?!? Another M$ fatware that instead of running other programs it drains all of the pc resources for itself to provide additional $$$ to M$
P.S. VMWare is a masterpiece.

Vista on jasjar?

Hey.
I was wondering. I saw a vid on youtube, with vista, turned out to be remote desktop, but anyways, today i saw HTC Shift, which has lower specs, so, is it possible to install vista on JasJar (universal)?
Dont care if i cant call with it, i have an S710 i can use as phone.
Hope people can answer, beacuse i really need the info. Thx..
No No No ......
If you are interested you can use Windows 95 or 98 on your pocketpc thnx to Mamaich. Using Bochs emulator.
You can even try to run other versions like Windows 2000,who knows..if its in FAT32
Good luck ! and post here your results!
vista seems quite impossible.
proble a remote connection to a standalone vista pc ??
@unapproachable2kx; could you explain the boch way? i expect you need a linux system running on your universal to use boch? or is there a .cap file thing? i searched sf.org but didn't find a true awnser
Just read the oldest thread and you'll find the way

The only way to run Vista is to run it in side an emulator. You can try and might be able to boot vista in, lets say, a week? And the start menu might open after a minute of clicking it.
So in summary, it is doable and might provide good material for a youtube video but from a usability standpoint, it is senseless.

Help needed, kitchen doesn't work

Folks,
I have a small prob after upgrading from Win XP SP3 to Vista Ultimate 64b.
The system always asks for the MSVCR71.ll which is already copied into Win/System32.
Also, I tried it with Ervs Visual Kitchen 3.0 and the newer 8.7.
I posted the error warning @ htc-developers so please find the overview here: http://htc-developers.de/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2069.
Installed on machine: NetFramework 3.5 SP1 incl. SDK, Visual C++ 2005+2008 redistributable.
It would be nice If someone could take a look onto this.....Thx in advance

I really don't like Windows Vista, It's not good an operation system for cooking Rom.
Already recognized that, but what shall I do? downgrading to XP again?
Guess I'm not the only one trying to cook with Vista.
Yeahhhhh, downgrade to Xp.
Or use XP in a VM with VMWare Player!
No way,
I know cooks working on Vista an it works fine. i guess there is only one small application I forgot to install. Won't downgrade again to XP
Thx Anime for that VMWare thing. Will test it later
Okay, I think I got it. The MSVCR71.dll needs to be copied also into Win/SysWOW32

Ubuntu Linux Mobile ROM?

Hello guys,
While looking the Linux Ubuntu distribution updates I've found this interesting. Ubuntu team is having success with Mobile Linux tests into some intel platforms.
Did anyone ever tried it to work on Trinity? I've searched but couldn't find anything.

Loading ROMs with Vista

Has there been any update on loading roms with Vista? Or do we still have to have an XP machine to configure our s620 with modified ROMs
If anybody can point me in the right direction.
Cheers
You can flash with Vista just the same as XP, XP is just preferred more stable method as uses active sync rather than WMDC, but i flash with Vista 64 all fine
Thanks for the update. Is there a sticky for that? or do I have to modify the xp one?

I have no problem flashing my Excaliber using Windows 7 Ultimate 64. I would assume Vista of any flavor can do it as well. I find Windows Mobile Device Center works better than the old ActiveSync application, at least on Windows 7.
